USCIS Service CentersHELP! Who to contact about Exceptional Filing at U.S. Embassies w/o a USCIS Field Office

THanks for your help. I've already called them multiple times and they don't have any helpful info on how to proceed. I've decided to just apply through the Chicago lock box and attach the a request to expedite on the top of the i-130 petition

USCIS Service CentersHELP! Who to contact about Exceptional Filing at U.S. Embassies w/o a USCIS Field Office

Ok I am going absolutely bananas!!! I have already called USCIS, and multiple embassies and consulates in Canada where I am living to try to get some kind of info on where to send a request for Exceptional Filing at U.S. Embassies or Consulates without a USCIS Field Office due to exceptional circumstances???

Does anybody have any suggestions on who to contact that will have that type of information?

It's so frustrating to call all these different people and nobody has an answer and it seems like no one is educated on the matter and can't even give me any ideas of who to contact! And if they do refer me to someone, those people are also clueless.

Feeling frustrated...Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Just to update so they basically told me that email about biometrics was a mistake. And that when I sent my request with the i-130 intially that they probably denied it and just didn't notify me that it was denied. #######??? And this immigration officer on the phone was just assuming and I asked him how to proceed whether I should file another request or contact a senator and he said, "No, you can't do anything. You have to wait 6-9 months like everyone else to get processed." TO me this doesn't make any sense I mean they didn't even look at all the evidence I sent with my request and hes just gonna say too bad for you. At least give me the fair chance of evaluating the evidence I sent in to support myrequest to expedite!!

Any suggestions or ideas on how I should proceed? Or what I can do to advocate for myself???

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsALL Nebraska I-130 Filers

I filed at Chicago and it was sent to Nebraska for processing. My NOA-1 date was Feb 6, 2014. I included a request to expedite along with my i-130 petition, and when I called to inquire about it they hadn't even noticed it. Great!! :( So the lady put in a request over the phone and a few days later I received an email saying they couldn't do anything about an expedite request at the moment.. this was the reason...

We are unable to expedite your application at this time as we are waiting for your biometrics to be taken. When you receive your biometric notice, you may go to the appointment location on an earlier date than scheduled. If they are able to accommodate you, they will do so.  Once you have completed your biometrics you may resubmit your expedite request. Please be advised that an emergent need must be presented.

I don't understand though.. do they request biometrics this early on? I thought you had to get your NOA-2 first and then further on in the process that you complete your biometrics...

I am currently waiting for a call back to hear back from USCIS office concerning this matter.

Let me know if you folks have any comments or thoughts on this matter!

Only a few countries now allow DCF. You can find the list here: http://www.uscis.gov...gration-offices Unfortunately, Canada is no longer on the list. You'll have to send it to the Chicago lockbox.

If the petitioner is living in Canada though and uses that address on the I-130 and G-325A, they could be fast-tracked at USCIS and have their petition adjudicated sooner (than those petitioners living in the US).

So should all US citizens that are living in Canada send their applications to Chicago lockbox? How can they be fast tracked by living/writing their canadian address on the forms?

wow!!! how did you get this expedited? I sent in my i-130 petition along with a request to expedite and they did not even see my request, so I phoned and made a request and was told they couldn't expedite anything yet because they are waiting for biometrics from us. Weird!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresConfused...

Thanks for the responses. The reason to expedite is based on medical reasons. My issue was that the immigration officer on the phone who first off had not even viewed the request, didn't have any evidence in front of him just decided to make the assumption that they probably denied it and told me that I would be denied in the future. Like no offense but #######, you know nothing about my medical condition so how could he tell me that my case would definitely not be expedited without viewing any of the evidence I provided?!!!

@li_09 thanks for the suggestion I will try that!

So I am thinking that USCIS has made an error. The next step after NOA-1 would be NOA-2 correct? So why did USCIS tell me they are waiting for biometrics from us before they can expedite anything? So weird.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresConfused...

We filed our I-130 petition along with a Request to Expedite the application process to the Chicago Lockbox for IR-1/CR-1 and received our NOA-1 on Feb 6, 2014.

Then on Feb 26, 2014 I phoned to inquire if they had seen our Request to Expedite that we had attached to the petition application. They said they had no indication of that. :0 However, the lady went and put in a request for me. I received an email with this response...

"We are unable to expedite your application at this time as we are waiting for your biometrics to be taken. When you receive your biometric notice, you may go to the appointment location on an earlier date than scheduled. If they are able to accommodate you, they will do so.  Once you have completed your biometrics you may resubmit your expedite request. Please be advised that an emergent need must be presented."

So... I have a few questions.

1. How long does it take to receive the biometrics notice?

2. Is the biometric notice the same as the NOA-2?

Does anyone have suggestions on how I should proceed? If I should make some calls or is it just a waiting game now?

Anyone feedback and advice is appreciated! Thanks so much.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 Joint Sponsor

I've been perusing the forums to find an answer to my question, but have decided to post!

I am the sponsor and my mom will be the joint sponsor. Her income alone meets the requirements needed. When submitting her tax return papers and W-2's, she's filed Married Jointly along with my Dad, who passed away 4 months ago.

1. I don't need to submit my deceased father's W-2's do I?

(And even if he hadn't passed away, her income is sufficient so we wouldn't need to include the additional paperwork right?)

2. For clarification, on the I-864 Pg 6. Part 6. Section 13.a,b,c that asks for:

"total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form

1040EZ) as reported on my Federal tax returns for the
most recent 3 years was..."

I should be writing whatever it says for total income for each year for the joint sponsor (my mom), regardless of if that includes my dad's income as well, because it asks for the total, correct?

Hopefully these questions aren't too confusing. Any help is much appreciated!!
