Michael,
I'be been checking out both Cebu Pacific fares and PAL and Cebu Pacific has a special in certain areas. Also Cebu Pacific fares just seem generally cheaper.

Lorna will go for her physical Feb 19,20 or 21 so they may see each other at St Lukes :-)

So you think its fairly easy to Walk-in for a room with out a reservation?

Thanks,
Mike (dims1)

First off.... Thanks to all of you helping me with questions and just being supportive.... Don't know what I would do without this forum and you folks :bonk: !!

Now... I was wondering when you book a flight to go to either your physical or your interview.....
Do you only buy a one way ticket? And then do you just go to he airport and buy one when you are ready to go home?

Or do you buy a round trip ticket?
Since I'm not sure what time Lorna's physical will be over on the second day, I'm not sure what time to buy the return ticket for. And it seems like the earlier times are a little cheaper.

What do you do?
Thanks,
Mike

I was wondering if the embassy keeps Lorna's passport, how will she fly back to cebu with no photo id?

I'm pretty sure she has no ID with a photo except for her passport.
She has:

postal id
voters id
Nbi clearnance
birth certificate
marriage certificate
baptismal cert.
and maybe a college id from when she was in college a couple of years ago.

Will any of these work at the airport?

Thanks,
Mike

ABOUT THE WEBSITE THAT SHOWS INTERVIEW!!

Hi, I can't believe it! The interview notice came in the mail today. I only saw it on the website yesterday!!

The notice was dated Feb.1....

What happened was... I was typing in the case number WITH the "-".

Yesterday I typed it that way and nothing came up......BUT.... I then retyped it without the hyphon and up came the interview date! :bonk:

Just for your information :D

So I'm off to send the notice Global Priority... Plent of time to get her the notice and have her physical about 1 month in advance. Which should be right inbetween her "time of the month" (F)

Gary,
try buying a box of Tootsie roll pops! That worked for me about 15 yrs ago.
Gave me something to stick in my mouth besides a butt and you can play with it in your fingers instead of a cigy. worked great for me.
Ended only eating about 1/4 of the box but it was there when I needed them :-)
Good luck on that and your interview. (Deep breath!)

soulm8z0928,
Thanks alot for the support! I appreciate it!

Yes, after I posted I decided to do just that. I got a live operator.... but she said we weren't scheduled yet.

My hope is that since April is holy month in PI, that they might squeeze us into March. Anyway, I have been figuring on April since the beginning... so no biggie.
And to think if I hadn't gotten the 10 delay for not including my bank info, I would have been with the rest of you timeline-wise.

Oh well, I get to at least watch you guys move along so its not so bad! I'm glad to FINALLY see some movement after Jazzy....:-)

And hey....I'm at the top of our list now, hehehe! King of the mountain! hahaha! ok, only a list of """2""" but hey....:-)
Take care and congrats!

QUESTION ABOUT VISITERS AT ST. LUKES......

Hi,
My wife Lorna just herd from her good friend that she got her notice for her interview and physical.

Her friend wants Lorna to go to Manila with her for support. So Lorna will fly with here from Cebu to Manila and then get a hotel room for a week so her friend can take physical and then take interview.

But I wonder if Lorna can go to St. Lukes with her and get in as a visitor.
Does anyone know the rules on this?

Also will she get into the Embassy for the interview even if she only can sit with her frined until the actual interview begins? Is this allowed?

Thanks alot.
I think this would be great for Lorna to have a practice run at all of this before she has to do her physical/interview....for real!

Sounds good Michael,
I come here a few times a day to see if you or any of the other CR-1's have moved along at all. I also hope that our fellow CR-1 friends will keep us updated as well.

Also... let's stay in touch regarding airline tickets, hotels, and possibly meeting at or before the St. Lukes physical.
I want Lorna to get hers done early... maybe 1 month before the interview. She will have to fly there from Cebu.

Anyway, any info about ANYTHING would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone! :pop:
Mike

For the benefit of the four or five CR-1s here who are all coming to the finish line very soon (we all have case completion dates between 11/15 and 11/17, and dims who is 2 weeks behind), I've almost become a nusance with NVC calling more frequently than I'd like asking about interview appointment schedule updates. Again with this morning's call, no news. However, I was told that NVC will be scheduling March CR-1 interviews during the second week of February, whether right, wrong or indifferent, that's what I was told. All of us are on pins and needles now waiting for any news. Jazzy has an interview on Feb 8, but received their date during the last week of Dec, so we are hoping for the same news this week. If any of us CR-1s hear anything at all this week, please share it. Good luck fellow CR-1s...this agonizing wait is nearly over!!!

Lorna said that her text msg to my yahoo(pc) is 2.5p charged to her load. She also said that there is no charge to her load for me to text her.
I don't have a cell. I just use yahoo messenger to text her.

So all is good.:jest: And I found out tonight that the reason we are runnning out of load so fast was because she is CALLING her 2 brothers alot which is real expensive.
Take care,

Thanks Ken_Maria,
Yea, I know she can accept my text messages I send her from yahoo to her cell for free.
And She buys a $6.00 load every monday but lately she is running out of load by Sat. And she only texts me maybe 30 times a week so I was curious how much she pays per text msg. I can't remember if she uses Smart or Globe. It's my undersatnding there is basically no difference between the 2 with what she uses them for.

I guess I'm curious where all these extra rext messages are going, hehehe. Cuz I want as many as she sends to her friends since I'm payin the bill, hehehe!

Thanks again and good luck on the 7th. I pray God blesses you!

GREAT NEWS!
I know you have been stressed for not getting this and I also have been edgy watching how little movement there is in the CR1 timeline.

There's about 4 of us behind you with completed petitions. So seeing some movement on your case is exciting. Maybe we aren't to far behind.

I would contact the embassy and ask them to send packet 4 to St. Luke's and check with them in a week or so to make sure that they received it. Then I would have Jasmin go right away to the physical in case there is any problems. S you might have time to correct those problem before the interview.

Again great news!! I'm very happy for the both of you!!

Can anyone recommend a service like a pre-paid MasterCard or something that I can send my wife? Western Union is robbing me! I want a service that I can transfer money online to and she will have immediate access to the money in the Philippines.
Thanks

www.visabuxx.com -- $2 transfer fee, regardless of amount. You'll have to fib and say she is your "teenage child" on the application. Works well for my fiancee.

I had my bank give me a second ATM card(visa atm) And I sent it to my wife so she can get her weekly allowance. Costs about 3.00 each time and she just goes to an ATM when she goes to the mall. Its been working real well for about a year now. I had to go to my bank and make my savings acct. availble to that card. Everything was fine after that.

BJZags,
I stayed there when I stopped in Manila to get my affidavit of singleness at the embassy on my way to Cebu to marry my sweety.

While Bill is a nice guy and his rates are very good, the place is not where you would want a single female to stay at.

The rooms are real bad and I know he lines up "girls" for some of the guys who stay there.

I mean I have nothing against Bill or his place but I wouldn't stay there again, let alone put my sweety up there by herself.

Just my opinion..... Mike

Glenn, Hotel can get expensive and there is no guarentee she will not go into AR and it take longer than expected to get her Visa. That said, are you prepared for the cost if it takes 2-3 weeks after the interview, for hotel and spending money?

If you do chose to go this route and put her in a hotel until the visa is in-hand, check out PhilBill an American who owns a hotel/dorm place in Pasay near the airport. I'm not sure the exact web page, but if you google PhilBill (and Lorna his wife) I'm sure you can find all the info you need. The price is right, and the owner might have some insight into the process she is going through.

we are so happy for both of you, it's the best christmas gift for you guys

This truely is the best gift!!!!! I just finished talking with Dhonn. She said the interview was really easy and that both the filipino and american were nice. The CO was a white middle aged woman. She only asked a few questions..where I worked, how old we were, what we did in the phils. I think Dhonn said she saw her put a white sticker with pink strip on. She was able to read approved. The delbros guy said about 7 days for her to get it.

An interesting side note: I had Dhonn bring a co-sponsor form just in case there was any problems because I recently graduated from college without alot of work experience. I have had a job making well above the poverty line for 9 months. When she asked the filipino interviewer if they wanted that form, that person said that for K1 co-sponsor is not accepted. When the filipino worker looked at my past transcripts she put 2 question marks on it so Dhonn explained the situation and made sure she took the pay stubs and the employer letter.

WERE SO HAPPY!!!!!

Hi cybernutguy,
I'm curious.... Did your wife bring a NSO certified BC to the interview with her? If so I wonder why they want her to go get another one. Or did she bring something other than the Cert. NSO BC?
Did she have any other ID with her like her baptismal cert?

Thanks for your help and sorry for the delay. At least she paid Delbros so everything must be ready to go once the BC problem is cleared up.

Wife called, the consulate officer gave her a form and told her that since her birthcertificate has been corrected that they need another copy from NSO. Gave her instructions to report to NSO for another copy and come back to embassy. She was asked to pay delbros.

All because her father's first middle name was misspelled on her original birth certificate and was corrected with the nso several years ago.

oh well...I'm numb at this point.

I wonder what happens when my sweety goes and has this problem with a late reg. BC and she lives in Cebu. Will she have to fly there again to hand them the BC?

This is turning into a real issue. Maybe we should start a Manila thread just for this topic. I'm really concerned about this.

Yea... now that I think about what you said, it makes sense.

******** Another question for CR-1 & IR-1 filers ********

I was reading how it looks like Manila is questioning anyone who has a BC with a name change or is late registered. And is putting them on AR until they can verify BC.

Well, my wife never even had a BC so we had to apply which was Hell in itself.
So she of course now has a late registered BC.

I see everyone talking about this is a K-1 so I am wondering if this is a K-1 only issue or if it effects CR-1/IR-1 as well.

Any CR-1/IR-1 applicants have this problem? I would like to hear from other CR-IR-11 filers..... Thanks!

Hi,
I was wondering about required documents needed at the interview in Manila. Specifically my filipina sweety's birth cert. and our marriage licence from marrying in Cebu.

This is for a I-130 visa.

I have an NSO certified birth certificate and and NSO marriage certificate that I will submit to NVC during that process.

But I'm wondering if since they will already have the NSO cert. of those, if my sweety still needs to bring NSO BC & MC to interview or if she can just bring photo copies.
Thanks alot,

Hi, I saw some people posting at their timeline like on their 2nd day of med exam at St Luke's "passed" . I'm wondering if they will let you know you passed on the 2nd day or you'll just find out when you had the interview when you give the brown envelope to the consul.

Hi gracy_byron,

My wife just had her physical last week. I think that if you don't pass physical, they tell you so you can correct any problems and have another physical.

Also, when you come back the second day and have vaccinations and receive your xray and receipt..... that means you passed.

About the brown envelope you take to interview?
I don't know anything about that. The only brown envelope I'm aware of is the one you get with your passport and visa when Delbros delivers it to you.

Thats the brown envelope you take to usa and give at point of entry.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway good luck and God Bless,

Thanks Yodrak!

And Thanks meauxna.....
Yea, I ordered transcripts for my taxes when I sent in my I-864 as sponsor.

But the 221g that Lorna received at her interview was an older form from 2005 and it requested an "I-864 from a co-sponsor in the USA with original notorized signitures"

And... Federal Income Tax returns for years(left blank)

And...W-2 forms from years (left blank)

So I'm giving them EXACTLY what they asked for including 3yrs federals and W-2's. I'm not taking any chances at this point, hehehe!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionJoint sponsor Question about 1040
Hi,
I was copying my joint-sponsor's 1040 and W-2 today and need advice.

My J-Sponsor is Sara + she filed joint taxes with her husband. The husband is self-employed, so he needed to add the 1040-C, for profit and loss.

Since Sara didnt need the 1040-C for her part of the taxes, do I still need to include the 1040-C with the 1040?

The I-864 directions say to include 1040 and w-2.... would that mean the 1040-C for the husband as well? He is not envolved with the sponsorship.

Thanks a lot,

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAR? HOW DO YOU KNOW IN MANILA
Hi,
AR is when they want to check something.....
Security check, or they might want to have NSO send them another copy of your MC or her BC just to make sure you are all legal and stuff. They could also ask NBI for another certificate if yours is older. The point is, that this is VERY common in PI and usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Sometimes less.

You can call the Embassy at this number which is a normal long distance call (no fee) Try to call around 8:30am their time.

Manila Embassy 011-63-2528-6300 ext 5184 or 5185

Hey be happy and thankful! We were given a 221G (refusal) and I had to find a joint-sponsor. What a headache! We sent Embassy the papers of our new joint-sponsor yesterday. Hopefully we will finally get Lorna's visa in a couple of weeks.

God Bless,
