US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionChinese Marriage dissolution

I know this may seem odd to many here, but my Chinese wife and I, after seven years needed to dissolve our marriage. Very amicably. We are now good friends, but she lives in Chongqing and I in Las Vegas, NV.

Anyway the Clark County paperwork was straight forward and without complications, but now Chongqing does not want to accept it. She needs and deserves to have a new partner. Does anyone know if the Chinese Consulate hers (or even the US Consulate) would be the place to submit the papers, so she will not have complications there in Chongqing?

Thanks you for your help

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Report Question

My fiance has his interview Monday, May 22nd at the Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany. When he ordered his police report it was accidently send directly to the Consulate. Has anyone done this by mistake or is this the way it should be done? I am so worried...... any feed back or personal experiences shared will be appreciated.

Thank you,
Paula

Here in New Zealand, the police report from NZ goes directly to the Consulate. The form was attached to the DS2001 and the DS230 Part I and the instructions said to fill it out and return it to them, that they would order it. I would imagine different Consulates have different ways of doing things. How do you know your fiance's was sent to the Consulate?

I know it got sent to the Consulate because when it arrived at my fiance's house in Germany he was here in the US visiting me and his relative mailed it in to the consulate by mistake.

My fiance just back from the interview and he said it went very smooth and the Consular Official told him his visa is on the way!!!!

We were so stressed out and worried about the police record getting there, it had been mailed in to the Consulate with the check list by mistake. Since we weren't sure if this was permitted or if it would even get into his file, we had a second report ordered over two weeks ago. The lady from the Mayor's office mistakenly sent that copy to the Consulate as well (talk about bad luck). As of the time of the interview that report still had not arrived. They did however have the first copy that was sent in by mistake with the Checklist. So, word to the wise.... if you are going through the Frankfurt, Germany Consulate make sure you specify to the Mayor's office to send the report to your home address so you can take it to the interview with you along with all your other documents.

With any luck the visa will arrive this week and Markus will be back on a plane this Memorial Day Weekend!!! (L)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan I send the I129f

My fiancee is currently in the States on a vacation visa (German). Can I send the I129f while she is in the States or must we wait until she is back in Germany?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi my fiance is also German. He came to the US to visit me on a I94 and we had the very same concern, so I called the USCIS and asked the same questions. They told me that as long as my fiance is visiting and not violating the 90 day maximum stay of his I94 the I129F can be filed no matter where my fiance is, here in the US or back in Germany.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureslanguage hurdles

My K1 fiancee Vilma recently emailed me and stated that she is a little worried, she doesn't feel that she can become very fluent in English after arriving here. She can read words but the speaking and listening parts are the big hurdle for her. I told her not to worry about it, a minimum vocabulary in English should suffice in the beginning. Besides, her native language is Spanish and as we plan to live in Florida, there is a substantial population of Spanish-speakers here which would help to smooth her transition in a work environment.

I wonder if anyone has any experiences about this, i.e., how long did it take for your K1/spouse to adjust to different language situation here, especially in the local workplace? Are there any suggestions for me? My fiancee is not young, she is 45 which is close to my age, so I guess it gets more difficult to learn languages as you get older. I'm willing to become more fluent in Spanish, as that might help on the home front.

Well you can reasure your fiance that most major cities in the US are very heavily populated with Spainsh speaking individuals. If your city is not a 50/50 mix, you can always move to the west coast where Spanish speaking people out number "English only" speaking people... tell her there is nothing to worry about speaking Spanish in the US. I am very fluent in Spanish and that is only because the kids I went to school with taught me... lol.... she doesn't have anything to worry about... good luck!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow did you meet your fiance?
Oh I love this topic.

We met in 1999 on icq where he first messaged me and stole my heart. It's been a long journey that will hopefully end soon. He is from Germany and I am in the US. We have been best friends and more since we met on icq. Visa Journey is great, I really love reading everyones stories.

Everybody, post here how you met your fiance!

I met mine at the airport in Kiev after corresponding by e-mail for months. She was the most beautiful girl that I had ever seen. She called my name when I walked through customs, and I looked up and saw a gorgeous girl with a sharp red coat and a furry red hat.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChange of Address Question
Just a quick question, recently the mailboxes at my apartment complex have been vandalized beyond repair. The postman won't leave the mail anymore. I have opened a PO Box to avoid having to pick up my mail at the Post Office during their "open business hours". My question is, how do I change my address with CSC. I filed the K1, I129F and got NOA1 dated 12/27/05. I don't want to chance any mail from CSC being returned because of all my mail being forwarded to my new PO Box.

Has anyone had to change their address during the K1 process?

Thanks for any input. :help:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEntire Visa Process
Can anyone please explain the complete process for the I-129f from NOA1 forward...... I have received the approval notification via email from USCIS , still not by mail, I want to know what steps are next. (does USCIS send the NOA2 to me in the mail or was the email notice I received the NOA2?) or both?

What will USCIS mail to my fiance abroad (in Germany), and how long does it usually take from the time of approval? When USCIS mails to (the consulate abroad) and they receive notification, is there a time line for him to respond and contact them?

I see alot of time lines, but they don't seem to be specific.... :time:

The reason I need to know is, my fiance is visiting me in the US and we don't want to mess things up by him being abroad visiting me in the US when his materials arrive in Germany.

Please help!!!

Thank you,

Paula

P.S. We want to move forward as soon as possible. That is why we can't waste time. Thank you for any help you may have.
