It should be fine if you don't have the original tickets, especially since most airlines don't even have paper tickets anymore I made printouts of our travel itineraries (with our names and proof of purchase on them) and highlighted the photocopied stamps in my passport and that seemed to be good enough. I also included original pictures of us together on several different occasions as well as some of the receipts that were related to our recent engagement (ring receipt, deposit for the wedding location), so if you have those it might be helpful too.

Good luck!

United KingdomOfficial HPV Vaccine/New Police Certicate Thread
We did end up getting our NEW police certificate, and the visa is in his hand now. He'll be here in less than two weeks! smile.gif I wish I had visited the UK forum earlier! He said he thought he had until August to use the old certificate.

Also, I had NO idea that you were all being forced to get the HPV vaccine. That's crazy, especially since it's optional in the US (I'm 27, an American, and just missed that cut-off to get it for free, but was a bit wary anyways because it's a new treatment and who knows what new things will come out about it?)

United KingdomOfficial HPV Vaccine/New Police Certicate Thread
Well, my fiance had his interview this morning and since I'm EXTREMELY meticulous with paperwork, I made sure he had absolutely everything that was required. I-134 Affidavits of Support with heaping amounts of evidence, passport photos, a copy of the NOA2 and I-129F, and of course, his police certificate.

The good news is that my fiance was approved for his visa, but the bad news is that we're being delayed because there's a new police certificate form being used in obtaining visas to the US, NZ, and Australia. I didn't know about this NEW certificate, but apparently the US Embassy is ONLY ACCEPTING the new police certification starting THIS WEEK. We were never notified in our packets regarding this new regulation or certificate and were unaware of this.

So my fiance was given a blue courier slip saying "Approved pending missing document" and he needs to go through another layer of paperwork and of course, more fees, before we can send back the passport and get the visa. It's extremely infuriating, especially because we were given no official notice of this new regulation.

I just got my NOA2 in the mail - it says it was sent to the listed consulate, and then, didn't list any. Strange.

Also, do know whether they give you a new number to track your case and where you track it? I saw my fiance has an A number now, but the receipt number is the same. Thanks!

Congrats to you, Halle! It's hard to believe that my British sweetie will be here for good in just two days.

I'm very sorry, Lucian. I would definitely post on the Barbados forum and ask others who have experience with that Consulate/Embassy. They should be sending you an official notice with the rationale for the denial, and hopefully they will give you more information on how to petition USCIS for reconsideration.

You might want to also post to the larger forum (not this thread) to see what any of the veterans think. Again, I'm sorry you have to go through this. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. sad.gif

Congrats to everyone who's been approved! We have been too, but with a caveat... This is important for UK filers (I posted it on the main page too)

Welcome, Nao! The California Service Center filers are now seeing some approvals so hopefully you will get through soon. Your NOA1 date should still be the priority date on your application since it was at the CSC, so it shouldn't be too long now, with luck. Japan is known for highly efficient visa services once it gets to the consular stage, you should get an interview very quickly!

We're planning an August wedding too. Worse thing that happens is you come to the US as a visitor for your friend's wedding, but it's still highly likely you'll have your visa in hand by then even if you do get a RFE. ???! Kouun wo inorimasu!

We got good news today! Interview date is set for April 18! WOOO! It was a relief after his police report took SO LONG to come in and we just sent our checklist back on February 28, but if everything goes according to plan, our original estimate of a mid-May arrival will go off as planned.

I know they don't do them in exact order, because they assign them to different people, I'm sure. Depending on how *fast* the pile is (or whether the agent goes on vacation, etc), the approvals will go at different rates. Seriously, I do think it comes down to dumb luck.

Tars, I know how you feel. I got my NOA2 after a couple of people on here with later NOA1 dates than mine.

Unfortunately, CSC is a lot slower than VSC, so you might still have to wait a bit. I don't think any October filer from CSC got a NOA2 yet, am I right? But I bet a whole bunch more Octobers go through before January is over.

I only had one touch before I got my approval, btw.

I hope we're approved soon. It's so strange how they get through them. Not a touch since Oct. 24 and some cases with NOA1s after ours at the VSC are getting approved. Does anyone know if it's a sign of something wrong, or whether it's just in a slower worker's pile?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUnusual delay in receiving I-129 receipt
Hi everyone,

I'm new to this website, but I found it to be a very valuable resource in evaluating the completeness of my application and learning what to expect. So thank you!

I mailed my I-129 application packet on October 1. I received my canceled check very shortly thereafter and assumed that I would receive a Notice of Action or receipt within the month. It is now November 18 and I'm getting worried. My fiancé (from the United Kingdom) said not to call and antagonize since our wedding date isn't until August 16. However, I'm the nervous one in our relationship!

Has anyone had this issue? Did you call, and if so did it get rectified? Did it take a long time?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

You should definitely call USCIS as you're about a month outside of the processing time (most give a call after 6 months). If that doesn't work, I would definitely call your local Congressperson to make inquiries on your behalf.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNewbie here - Help please!
Good luck, Saffyre!

It took me 104 days from NOA1 to NOA2 at VSC after filing in October, so things are definitely picking up. I think we'll probably get our interview in March if timelines are any indication, but in any case, he can't come here till mid-May as we're getting married in mid-August (unless we cheat and do a City Hall marriage before the church one!).

Passport photo: We sent one of mine (American) and one of his (British) and I didn't even notice the differences. They didn't either as we didn't receive any RFEs about it. I would imagine you wouldn't have a problem if you used British ones.

Proof of having met
: I included five photos at us together at different locations (one at my graduation with my parents) and I considered ones where we did weird poses and faces together so it would be extremely difficult to Photoshop... (I know, #######). I included my passport stamps to England and email itineraries from all of our trips back and forth from the US to UK. If you have any kind of itineraries or receipts that were emailed to you, that should be fine. We didn't have any boarding passes or anything like that.

Proof of ongoing relationship: Like Jeraly said, this is more for the interview stage, but I did include a copy of his upcoming itinerary to America in November and a contract and cancelled check for our wedding reception venue. I think it did help move ours along.

The biggest tip I can give you at this point is to triple and quadruple check your I-129F for missing information (it's easy to skip some of those blanks) and make sure you write "NONE" in the necessary blanks instead of "N/A." Getting an RFE for a tiny oversight like that is heartbreaking and can add a month or more to the process.

The paperwork seems daunting at first, but it'll definitely be worth it! biggrin.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresComplicated Case - How to File?
I'm posting on behalf of my best friend, who is from Japan and is getting married to a US citizen in June. Let's call her Yumi.

Yumi entered the US on a student F visa in 1998, completed a B.S. at university in 2002, and then got a M.A. in 2003. At that point, she received a B visa to work in the US, which she used until 2006. In 2006, she went back to school for another M.A. so she is back on a student F visa. Also, in 2006, she met Tom, and they are now engaged with a wedding planned for June.

Obviously her intent was not to immigrate when she first came into the US, but since she's been here for almost 10 years, it's obvious she has ties here and would eventually meet someone she wished to marry.

The issue is that her student visa expires in June around the time of her marriage. She has applications to other universities to get into a Ph.D program which would start in September. She's already planned a wedding for June, which would be pushing it to start the K-1 process right now.

What kind of visa would be necessary? Does she need an additional one? Can you adjust status from an F visa? She needs to stay in the US for her Ph.D, so moving back to Japan for the long-term is something that she doesn't really want to do, but I'm not sure what to tell her right now.

My photo wasn't very glossy, but his was. No RFEs before approval. I don't think they really care as long as they're not computer printouts on paper.
