On Feb 8th, I forced my hubby to call to the USCIS Hotline again and claimed that we still haven't received the NOA receipt for EAD and AP since we submitted the forms with the AOS on Nov 28th, we just received the NOA of AOS on Dec 6th and did the biometrics on Jan 4th already...The last touch was on Jan 28th for RFE of I-864...after all, they never "touched" me!!! You are right - the most important thing is I can be with my hubby now and no need to be separated anymore. Just sometimes I want to help my hubby out to work, as now he has to work both jobs that made him super exhausted...I hope I can get my EAD asap!! Heehee so good to know someone in the same place - Rochester NY!! I always think no one there to have AOS in that small town. If you like to share, you may PM me too!! USCIS Service Centers	Torture to talk with USCIS people	Just want to share my experience. Well, today I call again and this time I talk with is a man, I think he's a Hispanic from his accent. Maybe both of us hardly to understand each english. (hmmm I did try my best) As VJ fellows who read my posts before, you may know I'm still struggling with EAD and AP...I am a Dec Filer!! AOS is delayed I can understand as we received a RFE... I told this man I applied all those 3 forms in Nov 28th 2007, now is already over 90 days, but I still haven't received the NOAs of EAD and AP, he also suspected my address is wrong or there is no my name on my mailbox, but I said I could receive the NOA for AOS and the biometrics appt letter and we put our last name on our mailbox. For his reference, I told him I called them on Feb 8th and last week, the lady told me if I didn't receive anything on or after 29th, she asked me to call again...sooooo now I call!! First, he said "Madam you can't blame us, 90 days is just the standard timeline, someone sooner and someone later" Awww I am not blaming you, I just want to have some solutions. I don't know I should laugh or cry??!! Also he said I misunderstood what his co-worker (that woman I talked with last week), I need to wait 45 days since my 1st call on Feb 8th, he just told me to be patient and wait for 1-2 more weeks, to see what will happen, then pls call again~ So tired to talk to them!!! My case is different, AOS, and they requested me (the beneficiary) to call. But haha maybe they heard a man's voice, so they still answer my hubby. Hey, but today I called again 1-800-375-5283, then press 1 for English, press 2 and then press 6...just a while I can talk with someone this time, this's a man (so far the previous calls, I just talked with some mean women) Maybe i called too many times, I don't wait to listen all the instructions, just click click click... USCIS Service Centers	APPLICANTS RECENT CONVERSATION-USCIS HOTLINE	Yes I did call to the USCIS Hotline by myself twice. You are right, they are impolite and not really help me out. Since I haven't received any NOA for my EAD and AP, and found that they were undeliverable on Dec 19th, then I called them and hoped that they can resend the notice receipts to me again, but they refused and just kept saying I need to be patient to receive it within 90 days (Nine Zero) and hung up!!! I feel so unrespectful and don't know what to do... Oppositely, the officer at the US Embassy is more helpful, I told them my cases was like that (when I went there for my biometrics) and she checked the cases # for me, and also told me to call to their CS hotline for requesting them to send me again. China	Gifts to the bride's family	That's true!! NO KIDDING!! This is kinda called "gift money" or "bridal money", also you need to pay the money to buy the "cake coupon" which is given to the bride's close relatives and friends. Well, I know it's really a shock to americans. But it's really our custom...because the parents thinks they spent so much on their little girl and now she grew up and started her own family. The Chinese parents really thinks it's reasonable. So a chinese wedding usually costs HK$200K or more, that's around USD25K. Cause chinese wedding reception usually costs around USD650 or more per table, and we like to invite all relatives to attend the wedding banquet. Heehee...that's why there are so many late marriage in China, the guys need to save certain enough money to get married. My mom asked for that too at the first place when my hubby proposed to me. After all, we neogtiate and compromise this is a mixed wedding. We skipped the chinese reception in HK and just held a wedding party in the US. Before I left HK, I invited my close relatives to have some dinners and they still gave me "red packet money", so I gave all these money to my mom. My hubby and I paid for our wedding, but my mom still got me some jewelery. The most important is the relationship between my mom and hubby gets better and better now, they care for each other. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	May 2010 I-751 filers	Please update me too!!! I received my card on Aug 6!!! Comparing to AOS, ROC is much faster, just took abt 3 months or less to complete. Things to share: 1) Successfully changed my last name on the new GC. Thanks to VJ , I had my cover letter with written that "please change my last name from maiden to married last name". Plus put my maiden name at Other Name. 2) Successfully update my address, since we just got a house in late April and we submitted the ROC application in early May, we did the AR-11 form onine plus attached a copy with I-751 too!! Well, finally fixed my name, I think I will go to DMV again, last year they even not allowed me to get the learner's permit They said my GC and SS Card are in different name, my old GC in maiden name and SS Card in married name, I already bought with my married certificate!!! They still asked me to come back when I changed my name on GC. Hopefully no more trouble deal with stupid DMV!!! Been living in US without a driver lincense for almost 3 yrs now, luckily I got a walking distance job but I still feel so dependent on my hubby!! I just feel bad.... How interesting the process is? Ordered the new card first before they approved the ROC application??? Strange!!! Not sure which date is real for the approval... I didn't bother it because I heard many ppl received 2 times too, it should be an error for USCIS. And me too there was a touch on 6/26, hopefully we will get approved soon (finger crossed) Just for fun, I checked our case status and there was a touch on 6/26! He would have to travel to Africa to get a new passport which will take a very long to replace. What can we do in this situation, can I still file married but filing seperately or what can I do ? I was told that we had to fill out the I-130F first then wait for the NOA1 and then fill out 1-129, then go from there.... We have picture,(hopefully enough, because I was there in Italy back in Sept. 12 this year for 3 weeks) we have plane ticket, train ticket, cause we caught the train alot!! we are trying to pull up record of our chatting online, but we do alot of skype and oovoo and messenger, can I pull up a record of us being on webcam as well as our chatting? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Question about support	Thank you I did claim him on my taxes but did not claim his ssi and when I do theI864 I will claim 3 thanks If you claim your son as a dependent on taxes and included his SSI when you filed taxes this year, then his income is your income..you should have a 1099 for ssi so make sure a copy of that is included with your tax return you submit with the I864. Household size for I864 purposes is you, any dependents you claim on taxes (whether they live with you or not) and the sponsored immigrant. So 3 would be correct count for you, unless you support/claim someone else too. If you receive child support you would include that as income also and show proof of payments. However, you should be including more than JUST pictures. If you have any boarding passes from the flights you took, copies of conversations, proof of sending money, etc, you should send those things as well. You've been married for a decent amount of time. Do you have anything in both of your names? Bank accounts, car insurance policy, 401k beneficiaries, etc are all great.
