ok I haven't had my packet 3 yet (but my fiancée phoned and they have our case at the London embassy)

and am just wanting to send off these forms

and finally the DS-2001

1st question do I write on the DS-2001 my wedding date so they push my interview a bit ahead? so I wont miss it
and 2nd question is the mailing address I send the documents to this one?

Thanks for the information, never knew such information was available. I was born in the West Indies of British Citizen , lived in England since the age of 9 years, life is strange , one does not know what one has to go through on one,s journey in life but who knew that when i decided to working abroad that it would cause problems later when i fell in love with an American. I pray that we donot face much problems with this immigration lark, we have been real strong so far after 7 plus years together., i guess its in the hands of GOD. Previously they did investigate my working abroad, when we had submitted the I-129f.

If you weren't born in the UK there is more chance to be put in AP (additional processing) after the interview. It has happened to a number of people but it's never explained why or how long it will take. Many were 4-8 weeks that I knew.

Here's a website where I got some of that additional security check buzz. It's not an official government site, just somebody providing information to mainly businessmen. But a K visa applicant can also be run through those same checks if something in their application ticks the right boxes. It's classified mainly so we can only speculate. I have no clue if you will have additional processing (security checks) after the interview, but you shouldn't buy plane tickets or tie down wedding plans if after reading this link you think it's a maybe.

Thank you Nich Nick, this is very helpful so i make a copy of all forms in readiness for the AOS process. One thing that is bothering me is that I worked in Saudia Arabia as a nurse for almost 9 plus years in the past, on your response you mentioned that travelling to a Muslim country can be of concern for the immigration process will i be red flaged, we are awaitng the NOA2 after my fiance forgot to answer one question on the i-129f application they have recieved the RFE but we are etill waiting, my fiance is going to call them after the Labor Day Holiday to findout what is going on.:blush: :blush: :blush:

Just fill in each form completely to the best of your ability. When you do AOS, you'll repeat information again.

The DS-157 was previously only for men of a certain age group and women from a couple of countries. I've forgotten the ages, but basically ages where you could serve in the military--18 to ??) In 2008 my fiance didn't even do one because he was a male older than the upper age limit. Sometime (maybe 2009??) London started asking for the form from everybody.

The DS-157 information given alerts the consulate if they need to do additional security checks. Things they look for might be travel to predominantly Muslim countries in the last 10 years, military service for certain nationals, and specialized skills or training in certain technologies with potential "dual-use" applications. So I guess they want to know if you've worked in a munitions factory or have skills and resources for building bio-chemical weapons. List your nursing as a skill, but it's a common training to the general public and won't cause further investigation.

Anyone out there can enlighten me why is there so many questions on the package 3 so of these are they all necessary repeating from from to form, for example the DS-130 part1 question 33 List all Educational Insttutions attended, this question appears on DS-157 question 17, is the same anwer require for both questions., minus Primary /Elementary schooling ?
Another question on DS-157 question 14 Do you have any Specializeed Skills or training? do i put my Nurse training? I woild appreciate an answer from anyone with experience of answering this question.:whistle: :crying: .

:helpWhat is it that they require in Question 14 on DS-157, does it mean work skils i.e I am a Nurse and have Ophthalmic Technician Skills. ?????. Question 17 what age of schooling should i start with my education background is from England, does it mean age 11 onwards.In the past i was issued a Indefinite Burrough visa (B-2) tourist visa but i can not for the life of me recall the exact date it was issued,Also i held another Passsport from another country, again i can not recall when this was issued as i have misplaced it as i donot use it it has long expired.Talking of dates i have entered the states on numerous occassions some dates i can recall others i can not, does this matter can i just estimate the years??? :rolleyes:

Hiya, I think what you have submitted is enough, You can only put donot know as the form says, we had forgotten to answer one question so here we are still waiting for our NOA2 , we responded to the RFE , which they have acknowledged, so we sit and wait and hope that they will approve our application real soon and send us our NOA2. You NOA1 November? It is 5 months this month so you are nearing the finishing line one would hope. If it goes into May before you get NOA2 approval you will need to start making some noise and calls.

Anyone out there in Cyberspace who can enlighten us.We are at oour wits end, we need the support those who are in the same boat as us, so we can sail along this journey on more calm waters :crying: We recieved our NOA1 in November the 3rd 2011 to be exact, but alas we are none the wiser whether we are nearing the end or still at the staring line with the processing of our application for a fiancee visa. The web sites all tell a different story as to where and when we are likely to know what is going on. Please someone HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sleepy:

What a disaster after waiting for sometime for our NOA2 my fiance tells me that he has recieved a letter saying he did not answer one question on our application does that mean we wil be put back in the queue?, i can not believe this i know he double checked before sumitting the papers, but i guess even then been over careful doesn't always hack it, what to do. :whistle: :rofl:

we got noa2 yesterday. we also got a RFE after exactly 6 months. but it was something that was easy to "fix" (even though it was Vermont's fault). it's so annoying sitting here and waiting for the Noa2, and then it takes them 6 months to find out that something is missing, but stay positive, you will get the noa2 shortly after you send in the documents they are asking for. jah just stay positive and think you are getting closer to the end of this long process.


Just read your post, found it most helpful, we are now in the same situation awaiting our NOA2 having forgotten to answer 1 question on our application we recieved our RFE 19th April after 5 months. Having read your post makes it a liittle more comforthing to know that there will be light at the end of this journey.
There are a few questions on my post which i am hoping to answers to if you can help i would be most grateful.

Hiya SHELLY,

what happens when recieve your NOA2 approval of your KI-Visa petition is that it goes to, The State Department's National Visa Center,( wait a couple of weeks donot phone) The Petition the American Citizen will recieve a letter detailing that a I-129F petition for your fiance it gives the name and the INS Receipt Number, Case Number starting with LNDwith10digits, it states where the case will be processed thats the Consulate where the approval will be sent to. Once the approval petition is recieved and logged into the Consulate your Fiance will recive package 3 letter tell you where to down load the appropriate forms with full instructions etc. You need to give the consulate time to log your case , you can find out when it is logged into the consulate and when the package 3 letter was sent out by getting your petitioner in the USA to call the DOS # 202 663 1225 (MUST HAVE YOUR CASE NUMBER WHEN CALLING AS THEY WILL REQUEST IT)
Once you have your case number and they have logged your case at consulate schedule your medical, have all forms filled and collect documents needed for the interview, send package 3 forms off ASAP to the consulate with a cover letter with the date of your medical.Follow the information on the london cosulate web site, examples of how to fill package 3 forms are on this site under example of forms, straightforward.

Good luck, we are currently in the same process. got my medical scheduled for AUGUST, ( Postal Error causaed our package 3 letter from consulate to be sent to wrong address, so we have lost 1 month since approval hoping we get an appointment for the visa interview before the approval expires in October).:whistle:

Hiya, all approved K1-Visa . What is in the brown envelope from the Embassy. Is your Passport posted separate to any other documents that are sent from the embassy ? Can i request my passport to be sent to my work instead of my Home address, as i am out at work from 7.30 to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, also can I go in person to collect any document from the embassy.:wacko: :wacko:
