I want to thank visajourney.com and everyone contributing to this great site for all your help and insights.

I was afraid to open the letter from USCIS since it's been less than 2 months since I submitted my petition so thought it was a RFE. When I saw the NOA2 letter, for a moment I thought it was an April Fools' joke. I am really really glad I stumbled into this website because I was initially thinking about hiring a lawyer (to screw up my petition whistling.gif), but after finding and reading through the guide and forums in this site, I got the courage to pursue it myself. I hope the rest of this process proceeds as smoothly and to insure that it does, I will rely on this site once again.

Thanks again VJ and its members.

Congrats! kicking.gif
VJ is a great site. It will be helpful to us K-1'ers all the way through, long past the time our loved ones finally get to the US. There's still AOS, AP, EAD, removing conditions, ahead ....
Good luck with the rest of your process

Oh yeah! Forgot about those other goodies blush.gif

One step at a time.

Hey DoBoy! Looks like you and I are applying for a fiance from the same country^^ Let's keep eachother updated on the updates of our case status.

BTW^^ did your online status on USCIS website been updated ?

It seems to me that NVC is really backed up, its taking them forever to receive our case.

Sure thing. My USCIS status is still "received and pending" even though there was an update on 3/27/09 (which was the NOA2). So website is pretty much unreliable. Also never received email from them. I also called NVC (couldn't wait innocent.gif) and automated system has never heard of me crying.gif

Thanks everyone for your sentiments.

I sent the forms on 2/7 and USCIS received it on 2/10/09. Just received my NOA2 with approval date of 3/27/09. I'm so happy since I thought it would take much longer. good.gif

whew, thanks for the link doboy. I think we are good.. just have to be more careful for the interview with size of pictures!

No problem. Hope that memorandum is still valid. I think I may have my fiancee take the visa photo here in US when she visits me next time so I don't have to worry about getting the "right" sized photo. star_smile.gif

You shouldn't receive a RFE. See link below

http://www.uscis.gov...325A_110105.pdf

I'm in the same boat since I submitted a smaller photo of my fiancee. I also hope I don't receive a RFE since according to the memorandum they should allow a proper photo to be submitted at the time of visa issuance.

The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. It has been noted this is your second
approved I-129F petition and as such, your information has been entered in a multiple visa petition tracking database.
P2 ao contact theconIta with any qcet±o!.s hcut vii’s ice’.ianc, or fyo’. would now like he’r to forwc’i the
petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can also file Form 1-824, Application forActiononanApproved
Application or Petition, with this office to request that we notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa
processing purposes. THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA.
When the person this petition is for enters the U.S. based on this visa, he or she will be admitted for ninety (90) days
in order to marry the petitioner, and based on that marriage file for adjustment to permanent resident status on Form
1-485. The form to apply for adjustment can be obtained at any local USCIS office or USd5 forms center. Please attach
a copy of this notice to the adjustment application when you file it.
If the petitioner and the fiance(e) do not marry within these 90 days, status will expire, and he or she will be in
violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act if he or she does not depart. An extension cannot be granted. it is
requested that the petitioner inform his or her local USCIS office if he or she determines that the marriage will not
take place within the 90 day period. Please attach a copy of this notice to any correspondence about this case.

This was on the NOA 2. it doesn't say anything about national visa center.. it makes it so confusing!!

Just got my NOA2 letter and mine states "The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the NVC... USCIS has completed all action; further inquiries should be directed to the NVC. The NVC now processes all approved finance(e) petitions..." So apparently mine is going through NVC. Maybe it's different for those with prior I-129F approvals.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStupid questions regarding filling out I-129F and G325A. Please help!!!
Thanks Marie & Steve for the response.

I took another look at my certificate of citizenship, which had 2 numbers both starting with A___. One was in red starting with A followed by 6 digits on top of the certificate (which I assume is the certificate number). Another number was in black starting with A followed by 8 digits and labelled "Application No." So I decided to take a look at my mother's certificate of naturalization and on hers she had red number on top like described by Marie and also "Alien Registration No." shown on her naturalization cert and a "petition no." Interestingly, her alien regist number and my application no only differed by last digit. Since I became a USC through my mom who was naturalized, I was never given an alien number, but an application no. instead (I think).

So is an application no. same thing as an alien number and do I need to use it in my I-129F and G-325A? I'm going to try to find out from USCIS. I'll post my findings, if any, since this info may be useful to someone someday.

Damn it. Just when I thought I had most of the answers I needed.

I became a USC through my parents and my citizenship cert # starts with A xxx. Is this the A# requested on G325A and I-129F? I just assumed those A# were for green card holders only. Thanks again.

Thank you all for your responses, especially to Elghazi2008 for your completeness in answering my questions. I guess I'll try to google or call USCIS (although they weren't particularly helpful last time) regarding correct Citizenship #. Thanks Bonkers for sharing your personal experience.

Much appreciated. good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStupid questions regarding filling out I-129F and G325A. Please help!!!
To pushbrk : thanks for the reply

To Sinergy: I apologize if I misunderstood your intent, but your reply to my post comes off as being arrogant and not really interested in helping. You may think here is another guy asking questions without reading through this website, but I spent 3+ hours reading the guide and forums. Please if you are not interested in helping then by all means move on.

I understand that my fiancee may visit me during the process, but I'm interested in knowing if there is any delay during initial processing if I file the I-129F while she is visiting me. There is a section on the form asking if she is in US so wondering if they delay processing the paperwork until she returns home. Anyone submitted the forms while their beneficiary was visiting them?

For rest of the folks reading my post, I still need some of the questions answered.

1. ok, neither of us has an alien registration #.

2. citizenship certificate #. Which one is it? Application No or the red # on top of the certificate? Place issued?

3. File Number starting with A____ on form G325A. Is this asking for my citizenship certificate #?

4. Letter of intent. Is the sample of intent letter found on this website sufficient? Have ppl used the sample letter for their submission?

Thanks again in advance for your inputs.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStupid questions regarding filling out I-129F and G325A. Please help!!!
First off, I hope there are no stupid questions whistling.gif

After finding this website I decided to fill out the forms myself and not waste money on those darn lawyers (no offense). This website is a godsend. Thanks in advance for all your inputs.

1. I-129F, question 8b and 9 A# (I'm assuming this is alien regist #). If I'm US citizen and my fiancee doesn't live in US, I assume neither of us have this # and the # is for green card holders. Correct?

2. I-129F, question 10. I'm looking at my citizenship certificate and I see 2 numbers starting with A xxxx. One is the Application No. and another one is on the very top of the page in red letters. Which is the certificate # and how do I know the place it was issued? Certificate only states the address I was living in during the time the certificate was issued, which happened to be in Honolulu, Hawaii.

3. G325A, question File Number A _____ (next to Citizenship). What file number is this referring to? Citizenship cert #? Also am I correct in assuming I filled out ALL questions on ALL 4 pages?

4. Letter of intent. Should my fiancee write this in her native language and have it translated or just use the sample found in this website? (She can understand the letter from this website) Also is the sample found in I-129F guide section sufficient or use our own words and elaborate?

5. Is there any negative side effects or complications of submitting paperwork for K-1 visa while my fiancee is visiting me on VWP as long as she returns by due date?

I'm sure I may have more questions as this process continues, but this is all I have so far since the guide section was very thorough. Thanks again for your help.
