Or does everyone's do this? This happens to everyone... once it is done at USCIS and NVC it'll close and go to the embassy and USCIS isn't really involved anymore. It would not be appropriate for us to share a room or anything else.. especially in his parents house.. of course, I do not stay there the ENTIRE trip There are a few days at the start/end of the trip when we are in a hotel I can understand this.. My fiance's parents and my mom believe if you are not married then it's not appropriate to share a room. (though I'm hoping she's going to make an exception when we go there for the holidays lol) But I will always respect someones culture, religion, beliefs, as best as I can. Forget Rosetta Stone. Just spend 3 days with his family, while he is at work for 15 hours a day.. since none of them speak English it will force you to learn.. and FAST. My limited Turkish came in handy, but wow was it a strain sometimes. But we managed and I know a lot more than I did when I went to their home three days ago Unfortunately, the more you learn ... the more you understand.. even when they think you don't. This morning, they thought I was asleep and his mom and sister were talking.. and his mother was saying somethign about whether or not I would be a good wife for him. I'm not sure if she said I would or wouldn't.. I wanted to pull out my dictionary, but couldn't since they were sitting right next to me and they thought I was sleeping. Now that I am back in the hotel, I can't remember exactly what she said to look it up Although I am not happy to be back in the hotel, since that means I leave in the morning.. I am happy to be back in a building that has a Western toilet. If any of you have been to Asia you know what I mean!! I don't want to offend anyone that comes from a country with that kind of "plumbing", I manage.. but it takes a little getting used to You'll be a fantastic wife, I'm sure she said that. We have people coming from Canada and some from California and Indiana. We need to be sure of the date so they can make arrangements. Police Cert here is 30$ but I have yet to get it, because I think it says it needs to be within 30 days from the interview date (but I could be imagining that) Also..I have to fly to Montreal for my medical so I am going to see if I can get it around my interview date so that this doesn't cost me a fortune. I hope so..and I hope I get my interview in February because we just put down a deposit on our reception place, for April 25th. We wanted the 24th but they are booked. Right? hehe, more than likely .. from what Ive seen for Montreal after sending in the Packet 3s I've noticed peoples interviews are only a month or two at most away from the date they sent it in...and I think at most it can take up to 4 months. So good luck!! You will probably have an interview by February (and I hope sooner for you!!) Also - I noticed Jenn posted about what to do when your petition expires before your interview date (nice btw I HAD NO IDEA my petition had an expiry date until I saw your question!!!) SO check when your expiry date is for your petition, mine is in February - so if I have a interview after that I'm going to have to find out if it's an automatic adjustment they do - or if our consulate is the one that requires a letter for extention! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	September 2009 K-1 Visa Filers	Okay, Kayla I think you asked this and I think I answered... but now I'm confused again =( It says on the checklist about divorce documents and Affidavit Support form and all that and to not send it in and to just bring them with you to the interview.... but then DS-156K says it needs the following attached: birth certificate divorce certificate police certificate evidence of financial support which is all the documents on the checklist!!
