USCIS Service CentersVSC!!

Seriously what's going on with the VSC!!! I see all these NOA2's being recieved for people who were with the CSC yet it seems like the VSC has just come down to a screaching hault!!
Completely annoyed.....

I know, I keep watching my predicted review range fall back each day its getting depressing. It can't go on too much longer I hope and from what I have read from others, each service centre has its peaks and troughs of approval timeframes so lets hope that July brings us VSC filers some good steady progress!

United KingdomThings you'll miss from the UK, and how you'll compensate?

This is a great thread, thanks for mentioning the British Emporium in Dallas, TX.  I just happen to be going there for work at the end of this week and shall definitely be making a stop there, and Ikea (i'm half Swedish).

I have been living in Arkansas 16 months now.  I have to say that overall I prefer living here than in England.  The weather is so good and I can spend so much time outdoors hiking, swimming, biking, I feel much healthier because of it.  I also got really lucky and found a great job the day my employment authorization arrived in the mail and they are like family to me which has helped a lot.

I really miss Sky news here.  The quality of the news is pretty bad so I keep up to date with whats going on in the world on the sky news website. I will try that live streaming thing for sure.

I'm lucky that my family come and visit about every 3 months.  They usually bring orange squash, M & S tea, M & S chocolate biscuits, neurofen plus (its the only thing that works on headaches for me) so I make out a list for each visit.

There are some specialty stores that carry British products around here.  I also go to Aldi regularly and get decent chocolate and cheese from there for much cheaper than the specialty stores.  Its a shame they don't have marks and spencers here though.  It was such a great place to get prepared food that you just pop in the oven after a long day at work.  I find myself cooking from scratch a lot now because I gained about 15 pounds the first year eating out so much!

United KingdomChanges to UK police certificate
Hi All,

I couldn't see that this information had been posted yet so I wanted to update everyone who will shortly be needing to obtain a police certificate for their medical and interview. I went to the ACRO website :
http://www.acro.poli...rtificates.aspx to research getting the certificate and saw that they are due to bring out a new style of application form on 6th August 2012. The old style forms are still available on the website and will be accepted by ACRO until 31st August 2012. The reason for the new type of application form is because of a price restructure. It does not specify what the price changes are but in case the prices are going up then depending on what stage you are at in your visa process you might want to consider getting your certificate now. Currently the certificate is £35 with each additional copy being £5. Then there are additional fees for express processing and/or express delivery. Maybe someone else knows what the new price structure will be?

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread
OMG OMG OMG!!!! I got an interview date!!!!

As I just posted my post a minute ago I checked my email once more and I had this response from the Embassy to my email back to them this afternoon:

"Thank you for your email. The required forms in your case were received and registered on December 20th 2012. An interview has been scheduled for you on 29th January at ####. Written notification of this date and time has been sent to you."

So I guess the email option has worked for me so keep pestering them everyone.

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread
Hi All,

I started a new topic on this very subject today and then it was pointed out that it was being discussed on this thread so I thought I would cut and paste my post just to explain my experience with emailing the Embassy direct with the code and the response I got, for the benefit of others. Lets hope they start giving out interviews very soon!

"Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had recently been issued their interview date? From other K1 filers that filed their I129F around the same time as me (March 2012) and the beneficiary is going through London the waiting time seemed to be around one month from the receipt of the packet 3 and medical by the Embassy and issue of packet 4.

I received confirmation when I contacted the Embassy by phone that their records showed they received my packet 3 and medical by around 27th November and that it would take 4-6 weeks to issue packet 4 with the date. Once that 6 week period lapsed I contacted the Embassy again and they could not understand why I hadn't been given a date yet because it shows as eligible on my file on their system. So they gave me permission to send an email direct to the visa section using a code. I sent that email and waiting 11 days for a response and today they have sent me what looks like a totally generic reply saying they have received my forms and I should hear from them with a date in the next 4-6 weeks. I am gutted, I did not expect to have to wait so long and to be told I have to wait all over again it seems so unfair. I know there was Christmas but surely that would only cause a few days delay?

I just wondered if anyone else was experiencing a similar delay in their case and if there is just a huge backlog for interviews or if it is just my bad luck. I waited 7 1/2 months through Vermont for our NOA2 with no RFE so I feel like my patience is now starting to run out."

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread
Hey there, i'm in a similar position. I posted my packet 3 on 16th November and ad my medical on 23rd November. I was expecting an interview date in 3-4 weeks after that which seemed to be in line with the aveage waiting time then. I've been calling the department of state regularly since its cheaper for me but no date set yet. I called the extortion line about 2 weeks ago and the guy said that the processing time was 4-6 weeks and I should hear by the following week. But now its been 8 weeks and im getting impatient. So I called the extortion line gain today and he confirmed their system showed they had everything they need to scheule the appointment so he wasn't sure what the problem was. He gave me the email address and code and I sent an email direct to the visa section today. The auto reply says I shold have a response in around 3-4 days.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDesperate!!
Hi there, I see that we have the same NAO1 date of March 22nd so we should be going through this process a roughly the same time, although my case has complications so you just never know. When me and my boyfriend starting planning this process we tried to be realistic about it and have planned for one year from start to finish but also realize that it could be longer or shorter. I am expecting the NAO2 in August at the very earliest. Then I have allowed for time for the case to run its course through the NVC and on to the British Embassy which I understand is relatively quick compared to other embassys. But there could be delays at any point or a RFE so we have allowed around 3 months or so for that.

I am the UK beneficiary and I work full time here. I have not planned to leave my job until the end of February and we are aiming to have the visa and enter the US with a K1 in mid-March 2013. There is so much to plan and I am using the time carefully to prepare myself and my finances. I have moved back in with my parents so I can save as much money as I can. In the meantime I have visited my boyfriend for a week every 10 weeks and hope to do this until Christmas and then have my interview around early January. I am doing research about each stage of the process so that I am prepared for the next step and know how to collate the relevant paperwork. And I have also found it useful to read other peoples cases so see what complications they have had and how they dealt with them. As someone else said, you may have difficulties with your partner's muslim name so perhaps look into that to see what other's who have experienced this issue have said about it.

Try to get used to the relationship being long distance most of the time and try to find what works for you both. For me I wake up in England to a morning message from my boyfriend. Then I go to work and am occupied all day. I call my boyfriend when I get home and he is on his lunch break. Then we try to speak before I go to sleep but if not we send an email or two. The week days we don't get to talk for long but we have a good catchup on the weekend. We try not to talk about the visa until there is something we need to discuss. We don't say we miss each other everyday and how hard it is. We tell each other about the little things that have made up our day and try to say positive things. We talk about the future, like the kind of house we want to live in eventually and how we will merge our everyday lives, how we will pay the bills, health insurance etc. Until we get to 5 weeks before my next visit we try not to countdown, although I do that in my head lol! I think about how my attitude towards the waiting process effects him and vice versa. When one of us is a little pessamistic, the other brings us back.

As everyone has said, be patient. This is difficult I know but you really are only at the beginning. You must prepare yourself for some ups and downs in this process so that you can cope when things don't quite go according to plan. Keep focused on the bigger picture which is that once you have finished you will be together.

Good luck. :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsno NOA2?
I am quite new to this site but I log on each day to read the positive news and words of encouragement from other people who are waiting. Its been so important to me to have support from other people going through this difficult process because as much as you try to explain to friends and family its others on VJ that really understand so lets put the negativity and judgement aside and have more words of encouragement!

And as hard as this process is I do see the benefits of it taking a little time. I am the beneficiary and have lived in America before as a student and have visited friends there dozens of times but still feel in some ways I need this time to plan the transition properly and be emotionally and financially ready for such a major life change. Me and my boyfriend have talked about applying for a visa before over the years but I look back now and see that we didn't submit that application probably for good reason, we wernt quite ready. But we persevered and only now I can say with confidence that we can withstand this test and hopefully we will look back in a few years and say we are a stronger couple because of it. Doesn't mean I don't look at my timeline every day counting day one more day lol!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAOS RFE
Hi everyone, I have just applied for adjustment of status from a K1, together with employment and travel authorisation and I am a bit confused about some status changes in my case recently and was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on it. I mailed my AOS application on March 18th 2013 and received NOA1 about a week or so later. I received my biomatrics appointment letter about another week after that, about 6th April.

We moved house at the beginning of April and I completed the change of address both online and by calling USCIS. The biometrics appointment letter had already been sent out and I picked this up at the old address as it is my husband's mother address.

On April 10th I received a text message and email that there was a change in the status of my I-485. When I looked online it said request for evidence. I thought this was kind of odd because I have not even had my biometrics yet and it has only been 3 weeks since I submitted the application so kind of fast to be adjudicating my case. Then I realised that I had made a slight error in the zip code of my new address so I went back online and resubmitted the address change with the correct zip code. Yesterday I received a further message of a change in status and I check today and it confirms the change of address. However, my case status now reads "initial review" again and not "request for evidence". Im not sure whether the RFE status for those few days was perhaps an error or if I should expect to receive it in the mail? It seems too soon to have an RFE but then again if one has been sent I want to make sure I receive it and with the changes of address I may need to contact USCIS to have another sent if I don't receive it in the next week or so.

Has anyone else experienced their case saying RFE then it disappearing?

Thanks, Hannah

We had a productive week for planning whilst we were together in America. We booked a chapel and the reception which is this really cute guest house in bella vista arkansas with a dining room and outdoor deck area. We have chosen our caterers and colour scheme so now i can start doing the invites for our day april 25th 2013. My immediate family are flying over from england and with my fiances family we will have 25-30 people. It really changes things finally having noa2 and we can really look forward to it now.

Fellow Marchies I finally have great news to share, today we got our NOA2!!! I really thought it was never going to happen as I saw May filers start to get approved. Our case was complicated and I was so nervous it had been put to one side because no one wanted to touch it lol, but after 7 months 1 week and 1 day (223 days I think) we finally got the text. I am on vacation visiting my fiance for 2 weeks and we were driving through town together when my fiance got the text message so we had to try and find a place with wifi to check the uscis website and found a barnes and nobles and sat in the car park nervously typing in our case number. I couldn't believe we had been approved, I just burst into tears with relief. It was so nice to share that moment together and the biggest relief we can now move onto the next stage. And the best part is we can book our chapel and reception for our provisional date in April as I am hopeful a POE date in March is realistic for us. I couldn't have got through this crazy 7 months without the support of this group so I thank each and every one of you. Lets keep going for the rest of our Marchie friends who are awating NOA2 and give them our good wishes for news soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMarch (2012) filers...
Hi everyone,

Well I arrived in the States on Saturday for a 2 weeks visit with my fiance. Made it through passport control with no problem. The officer noticed I had visited in August and asked about that and also asked how long I had known my fiance. When I said 13 years he asked a few more questions but I think he was just intrigued lol!

Yesterday we visited the chapel where we have decided to get married and also looked at a reception place which we both really liked. Just wish our darn NOA2 would come through so we can put down deposits before I fly home.

Today we rang USCIS for the first time to put in a service request. I was expecting it to be difficult based on what others have said and because their website still states 5th March so I had prepared my fiance with an answer for any kind of resistance! It was fine though, we had to wait on hold for about 45 minutes but when he got through to a Tier 2 officer my fiance explained we had been waiting over 7 months now and wanted to put in a service request and she said no problem let me just get some details from you, like address, dob etc. Then she came back to say it had already been assigned to an officer and we should receive the decision in 15-30 days but that she would email a service request to vermont and we should have a response to that in 10 days. Im treating it with caution as I know many others have put in service requests and nothing happened but I hope we get some news soon.

Good luck those of you with interviews this week, hope they go well!

Nick + Elizabeth thats amazing news. That really made me smile after a very long day at work.

Still no news for me yet. Will be 7 months on Monday. But I fly out to America to be with my fiance for 2 weeks this Saturday so am really excited about that. Hopefully we will hve some news when we are together. Im starting to feel like I will be the only Marchie left whose file hasn't been looked at yet lol!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMarch (2012) filers...
Monday will mark 7 months of waiting for us. I could cope with a delay buts its the uncertainty of what if its an RFE at the end of it that gives me anxiety. I contacted my fiance's congressman and senator yesterday and got an email back from the congressman asking for more details and for my fiance to sign a release form. We will see if that helps. And we will try to do a service request when I get to the States in a few days time. I know its somewhere on here but could someone point me in the direction of the USCIS telephone number for Vermont and the options you press to get through to a tier 2? That would be really appreciated, thank you. I thought for sure we would have heard prior to my upcoming visit but I am grateful I get fly to America on Saturday to spend 2 weeks with my fiance and enjoy the fall weather in Arkansas, going to go to some craft fairs to pick out Christmas presents to bring back to England.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMarch (2012) filers...
There were 7 in my stack. All were all processed either end of September or first week in October. I'm the only one left now. I have some complications in my case so that may be the reason for the delay but who knows. In our case the Petitioner has some relevant criminal records we had to disclose. We sent certified copies of the court records and a certified letter from the Sheriff's office. If they looked at our file and wanted more info then they would ask for it I guess. May just be bad luck of the draw. I am sure everything else in our pack is good. From reading what others have got RFE's for there is nothing that sticks out that I didn't send. We had plenty of primary evidence of meeting in last 2 years etc. Just have to keep waiting. Im trying to be patient but I get really worried when I see others who are waiting 240 days +.

I know this feeling , it's very hard to deal with this , plz be positive and don't think about rfe , Im sure u will be approved as soon as possible .
Try to call them and put a service request , it will be helpful

Thanks I intend to as soon as I get to America for my visit next week. My fiance isn't sure of the process for calling so I will research who he needs to call and what options to press to get to a Tier 2 so we can call together next week. It sucks that USCIS won't talk to the Beneiciary because I am the organised and pushy one who will demand answers whereas my fiance is really laid back lol! Thanks for your response, I am trying to stay positive.

Hi All, ive been away from VJ for a couple of days and have just caught up on al the posts. Congrats to everyone with approvals it looks like its been a good few days. I reach 200 days of waiting on Sunday and Im hoping to hear something soon. I know others have been waiting longer so my best wishes go to them for approvls this week. I read that someone asked about a second visit to the US during the K1 process. I have had two visits since we filed our I-129F in March and next week I go back for my third visit. I am alo planning to go over for Christmas as I'm not able to move there until March as my employment contract ends at the end of Feb. When I started this process I thought 12 months would be plenty of time for things to run their course even with some delays but now i'm getting worried when see others waiting for so long, and what if we get an RFE? Ahhh I don't want to think about it, just taking things one step at a time. Anyway, I hope tody brings more March approvals, its frustrating seeing so many in April get approved when there are about 60-70 Marchies left!

Haha I like this topic. We haven't had too much opportunity to try out each other's cuisine but I'm looking forward to it. I once made my fiance and his friends a homemade Indian banquet of curries, bombay potatoes etc since I had told him it was our national dish (I think it still is). He said he liked it at the time but a few months later when the politeness had gone told me not so much lol! He also wondered why I got so excited when I found a gas station with an English Isle which had proper Heinz baked beans! They were about £2 a tin but thats cheaper than shipping them! Chocolate on the other hand is definitely a winner, now I have to take bars of cadburys and galaxy on every visit!

I just checked the numbers around mine and the one immediately after me was denied yesterday. It scares me that some petitions are denied after waiting all this time. I wonder why in some cases they issue an RFE and some they flat out deny?

On a positive note - I have enjoyed reading the stories of how everyone first met. I applied to do an exchange program in the States after I finished High School and happened to be placed with my fiance's Aunt and Uncle as my host family for a year. I ended up meeting my fiance a few days after I arrived and after a few nervous dates we became inseparable. I was lucky to be able to have a full year dating him and getting to know him. The following summer he came to England for a couple of months and stayed with my family. What followed was many years of of ups and downs and each doing our own thing here and there before we finally got it together last year, 13 years after we met lol! Its so funny to look at pictures of us from 1999 we look like schoolkids!

Hi, HannahandJosh here. We are still waiting too. NOA1 is 03/22. It will be 6 months tomorrow but i'm trying to keep my epectations low and that it will be around the 6 1/2 month range. I'm just hoping to get some news by the time of my next visit to the States on October 22nd so if its an RFE we are there to sort it out together. On the plus side this week I ordered my wedding dress which will be ready by January and I found a great venue and caterer for us to check out on my next visit. And asked my best friend here in England to be my bridesmaid so its been a good week overall. I do see the posts from Feb and early March filers still waiting which depresses me and I pray it will come for you guys very soon.

Hi All,

I just got back from a week's visit with my fiance. Had no problems going through immigration and I told the Immigration Officer I was going to visit my fiance. I bought evidence of my return but thankfully nothing was needed.

It was so nice to spend time together and even though it went way to quickly and I know I am very lucky as some VJ'ers have been apart for a long time. When we started this process our estimate for adjudication was the end of July and we though for sure we would hear by the time I was due to visit at the end of August. Now my estimate is the end of September and I hope to hear by the time I visit again at the end of October so we can put together any information if it's an RFE whilst i'm there. I was so excited to hear about the March approvals when I came back. Its been such a long time coming I feel like I have bee dreaming to see the start on March forever! Good luck to everyone for this week I hope the approvals start rolling in now for March.

I'm counting down the days until my next visit to the States, only 10 days to go and I get to spend 8 days with my man I can't wait! I think that is what is stopping me from going too crazy with the waiting. I get back at the beginning of September and really hope to hear something by the end of September. Fingers crossed. I am so excited today to see the first March filer approved, that is a milestone for us March filers. Even though my NOA1 is the end of March it has given me hope that at long last they will get to our applications soon.

VSC seemed to speeded up last week but now its back to one or two VJ apporvals per day. My original estimate was end of July when I started this process and now its mid September. I had prepared myself for the waiting but now it feels like the goalposts just keep moving further and further away its getting so depressing. And CSC approved an April filer yesterday, im so happy for the CSC filers but it makes it even more difficult to see dates after my NOA1 being approved and I have another two months and maybe more to wait. I get to see my fiance in August so am trying to just focus on that visit which I really looking forward to but some days this process really gets to me!!

8 VJ petitions approved out of VSC yesterday. Thats the most in one day for weeks. Lets hope this carries on, there are a lot of Feb filers to get through before us Marchers! Good luck everyone.

my timeline changed from july 25th to august 2nd yesterday... VERY discouraging... :((((

but my fiance is getting here tomorrow for 9 days :D

My timeline also changed yesterday. It had consistently ranged from the last week in July to the first week of August and now the range is August 10th-20th! And a lot of people on VJ seemed to get their approvals this week. I have a visit planned from August 25th-September 2nd and I was hoping to hear something by or during my visit so that if it is an RFE then we would be together in America to gather what evidence they need. I'm trying not to think about how long its taking but its hard not to check Igor's list everyday lol!

Hi all, we are planning around end of March/beginning of April next year. I have a work contract that finishes the end of February and then I hope to be able to fly out to the States a couple of weeks later. We have a few complications in our case so we have allowed a few extra months in case of a delay. My fiance (the USC) has several previous conivctions which are relevant. Whilst we have declared that on the form and have sent the paperwork we think they need it is making me very nervous we will get an RFE or it will cause delays. I have a clean record though so should be fine with the Embassy in London. And the irony is i'm a criminal defence solicitor lol, although after so many hours of research for this visa process I think I could soon practice immigration law!

For wedding plans my family want me to make plans for them to come over but the more me and my fiance think about the more we are leaning towards a really simple ceremony with just us and immediate family. I will only have been in the States a few weeks and will have so much adjusting to do, I can't imagine trying to plan a wedding long distance. But there is much time to figure out the best plan for us.

I am very excited as Im flying to the States to see my man in 3 days time!!!! I can't wait as it has been almost 10 weeks. Our plan is to visit every 10 weeks until we are closer to the interview stage. But because of my work schedule I can only make trips for around 9-10 days at a time which goes by so fast. But i've been checking the weather for Arkansas where my fiance lives and it is getting HOT! Oh well, I will have to start getting used to the humidity there.

I agree the waiting is difficult, some weeks fly by and others I find myself checking my timeline twice a day! I am glad to be over the two month mark as hopefully we will soon be over the half way point. My timeline is saying the first week of August for adjudication.

Good luck to all of you!

Hello to all my fellow March 2012 filers! I was just told about this thread. What a great idea! Wishing you all a speedy NAO2. Only a few more days for me then I will have the first month done on my timer lol. My case has some complications so I am really nervous about it being delayed or getting an RFE but I just have to sit and wait til at least August I guess. But the good news is only five weeks until my next visit to the US to see my love!

When I first contacted my GP the receptionist could only see my injections on their electronic system from the age of 10 and they made me a print out of that. They suggested I contact Child Health Department for my area for earlier records which were only kept in paper form. I had to do a little research as I had never heard of the Child Health Department but I found the relevant one for my county and called them and after a few security type questions they confirmed they had my records since birth until the age of 10 and sent me a record of them within a few days at no charge. It may be worth you checking with your area. I'm not sure about the tetanus question but hopefully someone will come along and answer that.
