The cart is before the horse.  You're facing a ban and filing a waiver (see your other topic).  Visit www.immigrate2us.net and consult an attorney.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Calling DOS

for those of you who firmly believe you could do a better job, well, why not attempt to take and pass the exams required to be a foreign service officer??? I doubt that one in a hundred of you could do it.

Why don't YOU do it before you lecture everybody? And where's your own timeline?

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)How long did it take for your senator/congress person to make an inquiry?

We emailed Kay Bailey Hutchison 3 weeks ago. No response from her. Not even a "auto response" or anything alike.

Hutchison (by the grace of God finally a lame duck) is worthless, regardless of one's party affiliation. In my time of need, I spent all day trying to reach her top staffer. When we finally connected, she cut me off with a haughty "The Senator has far more important things to do than to concern herself with one person's K-1 application."

Those words will ring in my brain forever.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)What does calling DOS or writing an embassy really effect your case?

what good does calling the DOS or emailing the embassy periodically really accomplish? Has anyone had any experience where a call or an email made a difference?

It made a difference for me, but my situation in Guayaquil wasn't the same as the typical AP situation.

More than one immigration attorney has told me:  The consulate or embassy will always have more and more-updated information on your case than the DOS status people will.

Also, please construct a VJ timeline so that people can better help you.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Need Some Guidance
Another concise, completely comprehensible post that absolutely answers the question... rather expected from the poster above.

OP, I was told by multiple immigration attorneys (some who are former COs themselves) that the consulate or embassy always, ALWAYS knows more than DOS does. Therefore, get your information straight from the source, when you can.
