Vietnam	HCMC Interview roll call	Any updates on those in AP?? Called Dept of State today (1/26/10) "Still Pending" Im told. Duyen has been to window B, outside the consulate several times now, she said the woman inside told her they were processing AP cases from July 09 and to expect a 3 to 6 month wait. Disappointing if true. I dont know how many people on VJ are in AP in HCMC, but it would be helpfull if those that are would add themselves to the list so we all can get a more accurate picture of what cases are being processed. Vietnam	HCMC Interview roll call	Were still waiting for a response. I went to see my wife november 26 thru dec 12. Went to the consulate 4 times to submit yet more evidence and speak to a co. the first three times I went all they would tell me was our case is waiting to be looked at, on the fourth trip they told me our case was now being reviewed. It could be that all the additional evidence we submitted is causing further delay. Duyen and I both email them regularly and I also have had my congressman inquire about our case as well. I now spend my lunch hour calling the state dept for a status change. Otherwise had a great time with my wife, son and extended family ate and lounged around a lot also took a trip to Vung Tau for a weekend, what a fantastic getaway that was. All too soon it was time to say good bye again and fly back to ice cold SF. Good byes are harder now as we hoped to be together by now. All we can do is pray we get some good news from the consulate soon. From what I can see on the AP list here is 60-90 days seems about the the time we should know something, today is the 64th day in AP. I will update you all when there is a change in our case. Vietnam	HCMC Interview roll call	The consulate can do it for you.. go in the USC side That's what I thought. thank you. Regarding my case, the CO asked a lot of question in vietnamese and my wife couldn't understand. She was so distracted with my son with her. We should have let our boy outside as he is already a USC but he will cry non-stop if he doesn't see his mom. We couldn't sleep last night as my wife was crying the whole time. She doesn't want me to leave her and our son again. I'll have to extend my stay for another 2 months until I hear a final decision from CO. Finally on the 18th I received an email from the consulate stating that my wife can come in on the 18th the receive the result. I stayed up the whole night waiting for my wife to call me back with the result. She was the last one out and we finally got our pink slip. She just picked up her visa today and ready to come home to me! The CO's are transfered from one consulate to another, every 6 months... a rotation... If the file is on the desk of a CO that deals with AP, the desk needs to be clean for the next CO.. or at least as clean as can be reasonably done... If I were the one coming into the consulate, I would want to try to get the remaining files out of my way as well... Vietnam	HCMC Interview roll call	Still no word on our case yet, even the consulate "Info Team" has stopped emailing me, that last correspondence I received from them was January 31. I've sent them 3 since then and no replies as of today except the auto-reply which I find odd. Have I used my allotted communication via email with them? Anyone else experience this? Calling the DOS once a week nets me the familiar "Case is still pending sir". Well I guess its good were still in the Que. Scott, I would say welcome to the club but somehow I don't think its appropriate. Im pretty sure once you've satisfied their requiements Thuy's visa will be approved. Also, you may want to edit the dates you were put into AP from 09 to 10, same as the others below you. I'm hoping to post some great news soon. Frank and Duyen Do they say Case is still pending or do they say AP? I was told last week, pending review.. and now this week it says AP and there is a notation that my congressman has inquired in the system... He will make another inquiry on the 22nd and then again every 2 weeks or so until they do something... it helps that the congressmans office is a couple blocks from my house and I know the guy that actually sends the email to the consulate. I still need to get my senator doing the same thing in the alternate weeks. that way the senior CO will have to check my case status every week like it or not. I have to wonder about the email system for us as well... No response to my inquiry from 3/8. I don't expect to hear from them before 3/22... The clerk at the window actually told me I was wrong when I told her that the email system took 2 weeks or more to respond when they respond... not an argument that was worth having with her as she was misinformed about other things as well... The CO told me that I was wrong when I said that the soonest they responded to any of my emails was two weeks... I will be heading to my congressmans office again tomorrow for another inquiry.. they can avoid my emails but they cant avoid his inquiries... they may get tired of having to respond to him... even if its just a mimimal response such as they sent last week. Thanks Linda, The Pkt 3 gave us the following directions: "Justice Record Check: Issued within the past year by Department of Justice office in your district of official residence for each visa applicant aged 16 years or older." So we went to her district which is outside of Hanoi. the CO said he would not accept and required same document from another office. So we did have what the paperwork required, just not what the initial CO required and she failed to explain a difference... no worries, just more time and money... I got my finger crossed for you guys <CARRICK> They said the police cert was from her district and not the city near where she lives.. so we have to get yet a 3rd police cert and it will be fed-ex'd here thurs and we will submit as soon as we get it... the man said everything was ok except for the police cert. makes no sense.. I would think it would be the other way around.. that they would want a police cert from the local office but that was not the case... only 3.5 hours of waiting to find that out... Vietnam	HCMC Interview roll call	Just got an additional clue that may shed more light on my every 6 month house cleaning theory... The CO's are transfered from one consulate to another, every 6 months... a rotation... If the file is on the desk of a CO that deals with AP, the desk needs to be clean for the next CO.. or at least as clean as can be reasonably done... If I were the one coming into the consulate, I would want to try to get the remaining files out of my way as well... Assuming that they did this in Oct, we should have a new CO at the desk in the next 30 days. I dont buy into that at all Scott, as when I was just there last week for the marriage papers I saw the same CO that did our interview, I know it was our CO because I remember him when I submitted evidencein October, and he was the CO that did our interview, that is well over 6 months, I know a guy that works at the Australian embassy, and he said he works there for 2 years then gets transfered, not 6 months, that is a DIFFERENT embassy, but the 6 month thing sounds a bit funny, if that were the case they could never get anything done, 1 month for interview from packet 4 being sent, 1 month of waiting for resubmition, then another 90 days of AP that is 5 months there. Vietnam	HCMC Interview roll call	My wife said the same thing before she was ultimately denied and we asked the Mullins group who was working on our case what the pink paper was and they said it's there checklist. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. that was a long time ago, and we are past that, so no big deal, but fyi when Binh said she saw pink, it was not any checklist it was the actual approval letter. Vietnam	HCMC Interview roll call	They said the police cert was from her district and not the city near where she lives.. so we have to get yet a 3rd police cert and it will be fed-ex'd here thurs and we will submit as soon as we get it... the man said everything was ok except for the police cert. makes no sense.. I would think it would be the other way around.. that they would want a police cert from the local office but that was not the case... only 3.5 hours of waiting to find that out...
