My wife just got her license about 2 months ago so we are going to get her an SUV to take the family around, I still have my Lexus GS that can seat 5, and I need a hobby car to play on weekends and hopefully one day hand a fast car down to my kids when they get older.... innocent.gif

Hey there is no Replacement for Displacement! Haha I learned the hard way. I use to race 4 cyl, 6 cyl, and my next project will be a V8 for sure. All was and will be 600hp and up. I am thinking Ford fox body though cause they are pretty cheap to make fast. Right now I am just cruising around in my Lexus GS until after we have our baby then I'll get back into the hobby.

Why a v8 man? It's heavy and clumpsy and might break things fast. I would go for a Supra or a Skyline if you have the money as a project. Those things can be up to the 1000+HP. Well, it's the v8 sounds that makes MAN go hard for. hahahah I want a 1967 Dodge Charger as my project car when I get older but for now, import is my thing. heheheh


V8's aren't all that heavy or clumsy, Supra's weigh just about the same and the newer domestic come with some pretty good suspension and also I don't care if it's an import or domestic when you are modifying and racing things will break regardless. I use to drag race a lot and V8's have more parts out there for traction. I use to have a supra that made close to 900hp on stock block but getting it to hook up was so difficult. I've been through a lot of imports and I need a change, either fox body stang, 03-04 cobra, or c6 zo6 vette. Until I can afford the new GTR or they make another super car like a supra again then I am going to get a v8 domestic.

All the imports I use to own:
600hp from the 1.8 liter 4 cyl.
700hp gt35r awd.
900hp stock block big turbo

All this money pit and madness ended when I met my wife smile.gif
I'll get back into it soon enough.

Just updated for some info. Dao and sons recieved K1 visa yesturday and will buy tickets today. I think it is 550usd each to Pittsburgh through Chicago purchasing tickets in Siagon. Much less than purchasing here.

Ly should be out next week... She went to the consulate last night and they said not done... we will notify you.. likely Tuesday or so before they are done if the timeframe after Johns call is the same as Ly's....
I got the call from DoS yesterday and I am out of NVC AP today.. so that scheming call is for sure an indicator that something is about to happen... with luck I will fax and email the DS230 and DS 2001 on Tuesday as they will get the file on Monday and I could get an interview as early as Dec 21 or 22... fingers crossed... if all goes well she could be here b4 the end of the year and married b4 Jan 1.... woo hoo on that tax deduction!!!!

If anyone else gets a call from HCMC let us know.. this is a good sign and we can count from that day how long it takes...

I have been in AP at NVC for a month now and someone called me from there asking for my ex wife... I knew who it was and what they were trying to do. I gave them her cell # and said call her if you want to talk to her but we are divorced and have been for some time. I expect to be off to the consulate tomorrow... Having been invesigated at NVC the way they just did, I expect no AP @ HCMC... This means interview before the end of the year.. but I dont see any way for her to get a visa before the end of the year and get married this year for tax purposes...

We were not emailed when we were approved. I emailed them weekly, and when I nagged my husband to go out to the consulate and he finally did they told him they had completed processing his paperwork and to come back the next day with his passport to exchange slips.

We are pleased to inform you that the beneficiary’s visa application has been approved and the notification of this approval will be mailed to the beneficiary. The beneficiary may come to our office from 1-2 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays, to submit the passport for us to issue the visa. Not sure how to add our name to the list other than replying to it. Received our first blue September 22nd, requesting a Notarized time line, returned on the 20th 0f October with the time line and after a 5 hour wait she was handed another blue slip stating we failed to provide "Sufficent credible evidence to support the claimed petitionable relationship. * THe following remarks appy in your case.. *"Your case requires additional processing in our office". My stepsons interview is next month, is it possible he will be approved while mom is still in AP?
So anyway, here we are to join the rest of you. Its good to read that some of you are finally getting out of AP with success, I wish it didnt take so long. Congrats to all of you that have.

Just updated for some info. Dao and sons recieved K1 visa yesturday and will buy tickets today. I think it is 550usd each to Pittsburgh through Chicago purchasing tickets in Siagon. Much less than purchasing here.

Here is our story on our day that we went in to turn in our evidence:
We got there at 12:30pm on September 8th 2009.
We both walk up and being turn down by the guard and said that only one of us can come in.
My wife walk in with all of the evidence in two bags. One bag was our BEFORE WEDDING and AFTER WEDDING evidence.
My wife turn in all the documents around 1:10pm and told to wait for the result.
My wife sit at the bench until 5:05 pm and they call my wife's name. They then told my wife that they're running out of time so they gave my wife a blue slip and said to go home and wait. Think about it everyone, my wife wait for almost 5 hours and just to receive such news. Not to mention I was sitting outside at the corner on the other side of the street waiting patiently. I didn't go to the bathroom or taking my eyes off the doors. I see 1 door close, then 2 doors close then all three close. I was worry about my wife safety more than getting the pink slip. I talked to one of the american that just got out of the consulate about my wife. I explain to him how my wife looks and he said she's still in there. That ease my worry a little and I keep on waiting. At 5:10Pm, my wife walk out and cross the busy street and told me that we have a second blue slip. Part of me was glad because my wife is okay and part of me was angry about them keeping someone in the consulate for 5 hours. After all, we're glad that it's not white slip and we were so hungry to think about anything else. We jump into the car and find the next restaurant to eat. We ate at "Quan An Ngon" just down the road on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia.
That's our story on our second time at the consulate. We are waiting for them to give us an answer and hope it turns out well.

Ly should be out next week... She went to the consulate last night and they said not done... we will notify you.. likely Tuesday or so before they are done if the timeframe after Johns call is the same as Ly's....
I got the call from DoS yesterday and I am out of NVC AP today.. so that scheming call is for sure an indicator that something is about to happen... with luck I will fax and email the DS230 and DS 2001 on Tuesday as they will get the file on Monday and I could get an interview as early as Dec 21 or 22... fingers crossed... if all goes well she could be here b4 the end of the year and married b4 Jan 1.... woo hoo on that tax deduction!!!!

If anyone else gets a call from HCMC let us know.. this is a good sign and we can count from that day how long it takes...


So she'll travel as soon as she gets the approval?? I think you're being too hopeful if you think she'll get her visa by the 31st though...lol. Unless you can get Thuy to explain to the consulate officers that she needs her visa that same day because ya'll wanna take advantage of the filing status!! LOL.... smile.gif (It's possible though...I guess.)



Fingers crossed...i had my wife fly to saigon in a couple of weeks to check out the status, hopefully good news. If the case is not done yet then I'll have her submit more evidence of us after being in AP, hopefully this will let them know that we are legitimate. I will let you guys know what's up. innocent.gif

The DoS has the same system that the consulate has and the consulate is supposed to update the system whenever anything happens with the case.. same as those touches at USCIS but with an explanation.. 202 663 1225 but the close at 5 and there is a long I mean very long recorded message.. 2 parts that you must listen to before you can select 0 to talk to someone... they are really nice there for the most part.. only 1 time have I gotten someone that was rude at DoS.

It seems like the stress comes and goes.. Knowing that makes it a little easier to get over those rough spots....

I just got the call that I was dreading.. Thuy has been very sick for days.. she caught it from her son last week and he is better now as he went to the hospital on Saturday, but she went to the hospital today.. H1N1... I am so worried at this point and there is nothing I can do... I had it months ago as did my son, but the medicine there is not the same as here... heading out to wire some $ so she can be sure to get that extra attention to stay alive. She is running a tem of 103 and is far worst than her son was....

There was a little bit of traveling for her, but they got pink too...

Ly said she went to the window and they said still being researched and that they would let her know... I feel really bad for him as she does not have the luxury that many of us have( Internet at home) communication is done via cell and internet cafe... it is financially taxing having to wait such as they are...
If they call, one has to remember to not be cocky as that could result in a quick denial.. as was the case with Andy.. they called him and he cited the law etc and was really defensive when they asked him questions... When they called me I knew who it was as did he, but I figured I have nothing to hide and anything I say with them will just help the case along...
