US Citizenship General DiscussionRegarding taxes in N400 form

Just Bob, I think if you don't pay on time it's considered a "failure to file your taxes" although she/he paid it later.

Exactly. The instructions for Part 10 say that if any part of the question applies to you, you must answer yes. Then it goes on to give an example: For instance, if you were ever detained (stopped for a traffic violation or questioned) by a police officer, you must answer "yes" to the question, "Were you ever arrested or detained by a police officer?"

If you have somebody, or some firm that you regularly worked for, then you would be a statutory employee. And that person would be your employer.

It depends on the office, and which security guard is working that day. Afternoons seem to be best for our office which is less than ten miles away from us. Stop by, ready to go, when they have nobody waiting for an appointment, and if you can charm the guard, you are good to go.

No problem. As long as you meet the minimum residency, you are good to go. Nice not to have that pressure anymore.

US Citizenship General DiscussionDo I need the Staus Information letter for my Interview?
I would bring at least the documents listed on your interview letter, and copies of anything you sent them with your application, or any RFE's. Beyond that, if you have the time, why not make that request? If you can prove that requirement does not apply to you by other evidence, bring that as well. It they don't ask, then don't volunteer anything, but if you need it, you have it.

US Citizenship General DiscussionCan't find my green card for naturalization interview

PLEASE, Never use google or other translation programs for SOMEONE ELSE post, becuase it will give misleading information to others. These programs give wrong meaning of information by using wrong words and sometimes no sense at all. You can always say or ask and we can post it in english as well.
I am REQuESTING that you delete or remove it. It is giving wrong meaning of the post. Thank you for understanding, and complying as well.

"I advised him/her to not wast time and apply right the way for the card. It will take less then 10 days to get the reciept. The card may take less then 3 months with my own experiance. It will help to have the reciept at the interview then having nothing at all.Since they will like to see a proof of it, having a reciept he/she has a chance with the process........"

As you can see your google translation has some words and sentese that are not making any meaning with the post. What is AC?????.....more.

That is why we have the rule not to post in anything but English, except in the regional forums. If you don't want to share a post with the world, send it by Personal Messenger.

Only a moderator can hide a post. Use the report button if that is your request.

It sounds like she has been a Permanent Resident for more than five years. If that is the case, and she meets all the other requirements, she should be able to apply for citizenship.

portbar,
When she filed for ROC, the divorce was already finalized, so she filed it by herself (without joint petition) and requested a waiver.

Then I do believe she is good to go.

So is the best thing for her to do if she doesnt know the exact name she entered the country under and the exact date is to contact the lawyer who helped her with her case?

Writing n/a or leaving that feild blank of the paper is not an option?

She needs to answer all questions to the best of her ability. Any missing information may generate an RFE, cause the application to be returned, or need to be clarified during the interview process.

I wonder if they will accept John Bow near instead of John Bay near.

US Citizenship General DiscussionQuestion about Tax Filing

I have a friend who's Wife is about to send off her application for Citizenship. However out of the 3 yrs of Tax Papers one year they both filed Single even though they were married. Will this affect her process of approval/denial for Citizenship? She said the person who did her taxes that way said it wouldn't effect her as they only want to see that she filed her taxes.

I told her that doesn't seem right. Anyone know what will or could happen?

Thanks

Do you mean they filed, "Married, filing separately", not filed "Single"?

If so, that should not be a problem. The easy tell, is that each spouse's ITN/SSN is listed on both the husband and wife's separate returns.

Also can someone explain how i'm gonna get this copy and where. I have the ticket copy, traffic shcool certificate that I attended and the bank statemnet that i paid the fine.

QUOTE (Stella08 @ Feb 15 2009, 05:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think there are A LOT of puzzle pieces missing here and it's hard to give any advice.

You got the ten year greencard? So you've been married for more than two years. And you have been living in your home country while your wife was living in the US? Then you came to the US, of course without informing your wife, and caught her cheating? Of course you didn't ask for an explanation but just left and decided to start a new life without her. How are you going to divorce her without at least letting her know that you started divorce procedures?

I am totally confused and I bet the USCIS officer reviewing this case would also be confused blink.gif

With children involved the best advise is to seek legal guidance. Family law varies from state to state but the courts tend to lean towards the Mother if she is determined fit.
