I just got back from bringing my little dog home. The chapel service was beautiful. They had her head on a pillow and covered her up to the shoulders with a blanket with doggies. I took some pictures to remember her by, and everything was done with such respect and gentleness.

Middle East and North Africasuspicious quick engagement?
QUOTE (chrisc85 @ Jul 6 2009, 11:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
this is what im writing for 'how we met', it fits on one page:

I was to study abroad in Spain from July 15th to August 15th directly through my school William Paterson University in the US, travel freely for 2 weeks, and spend the 2008 fall semester studying at Moulay Ismail University in Meknes, Morocco before returning home via Spain on December 21st 2008. After arriving in Meknes in September with the ISA group, it wasn’t long before I met my now-fiancée N****** A****, a local English student at the university. We first met very briefly at the Rif Hotel while she was bringing other exchange students back to their hotel after visiting the hammam, and then again at ISA director I*** E*******’s surprise birthday party in mid-October. I was very attracted to her, but at first she was nervous because she feared getting taken advantage of. With a little time however, we began seeing each other very often inside the university and out. I would visit her at work during her cooking classes, and she would always take the time to help me and keep me motivated with my struggling Arabic. It only got better every day we were with each other, and we were really happy.

After some time, my trip began to near its end, and I realized I was in love with her and didn’t want to leave. I told her this, and she responded to me very positively, telling me that she felt she was in love with me also. Riding in a taxi one day, I took a chance and proposed to her. She was shocked, but happily accepted. We knew that before leaving Morocco, I should respectfully introduce myself to her parents to make my intentions known. I arrived at her house with cake, sugar and flowers in hand, things went well, and we became officially engaged. A few weeks later, I departed for the US, and we continued to stay in touch by talking via internet and/or telephone everyday without fail. After waiting for us both to graduate college this past semester (Spring 2009) and for myself to acquire a full-time job, I quickly began to save money and gather the materials necessary to petition for the K-1 visa. I am looking forward very much to seeing and being with Nisrine again, and can’t wait for us to be able to spend the rest of our lives together. Please expedite this petition as quickly as possible. Thank you.

If you could condense this in a paragraph, great. USCIS does not require anything this lengthy because it just takes up the CO's time.

Good morning......

We drove to the river last night. I like to walk on the docks and just bend my head down towards the water and scream into it....let the water carry my frustrations away. It was a good night.
A bit lonely this morning with the one dog gone.

Bridget and HLM...My husband works constantly with his regular 9 to 5, then his part time evening job and those blasted side jobs. Usually I am alone no matter what day it is. If ya all lived close to me we could have a ladies night out...or two...or three...I would love the company.

Middle East and North AfricaFirst Jobs in the US for MENA SOs
((((((HUGS))))) to KHPerfectMatch .

It took 3 weeks after my husband arrived to land a job here as an IT tech/ Security System installer. Quite a step down from his profession in EGY, but a job is a job. Apart from that regular 9 to 5, he has another job in the evenings and also does side jobs on the weekends.

Because you are an infidel as well as a woman and he will take the word of his male friend(s) over yours hands down every time. How f##ked up is that, yet oh so true.

I think after this last rowe, over the taxes, when I told him fine, make the appointment for the divorce because, hey, talaq is easy, he gets it.

And who was the friend who had all of this sage advice? His EGYPTIAN friend who wants to move back to Egypt and can't afford to because he doesn't make $hit for money in America and wouldn't make enough money here to put his children into the private schools that would be necessary, anyway. So, his bright idea is to start a business here, let my husband run it until it's profitable enough for him to haul himself and his brood over here (and look like the successful guy all the way). So WHO doesn't want my husband to have a happy marriage to the American who might get him a green card and take him to America, away from Egypt and away from the potential "good business" his FRIEND needs to have? It's surely not me.

I told him he can continue to listen to his friend, even though his friend clearly isn't helping him, or he can see, with his own two eyes, what I show him. He told me the other day that nobody will ever come between us again. We'll see. But, I will say this, getting him to this point hasn't been easy.

Lets hope he doesn't relapse. Mine is inclined to listen to his friends who are just the experts on immigration. Some of the things my husband has told me about the expertise advice he has gotten is something out of the comic books, to be sure....and he honestly wholeheartedly believes these fools! Sometimes, I gotta just shake my head.
