i'm not too impressed with directv for this reason: we had a box go bad on us. keep in mind this is their box, which we rent for $5 a month.
you have to pay them $23 to send you a new box to rent........

Right now I'm living in Amherstburg, ON & I couldn't ask for a better place to live. I totally feel safe living here.

My fiance lives in Plymouth, MI(Plymouth township). I can say I feel safe there.
Better than when he lived in Ypsilanti...anyone in Michigan would know it's not the nicest place to be. The night before he moved out, one of the people in his building was stabbed with a sword. Pools of blood all over the parking lot.

But either city or country I always take precautions. I always lock my doors.

Take a firearms training/CCW class. When you are taught safe handling of a firearm, there's no reason to be scared of it.

I wasn't offended, I just don't share your empathy for sex offenders. As useful as a sex offender database is, I sincerely hope that people don't use this for more than what it really is. Just because one isn't listed in your neighborhood doesn't mean that it can't happen. I have never looked at those lists as I believe they should be illegal and to quote Charles, it is a "slippery slope". I would maintain the same level of awareness to my surroundings with or without knowing what people in my neighborhood have been convicted of.

i find the lists interesting - none within about 8 miles of me, they are primarily centered in downtown leavenworth. i'd have to hunt around for the website that does show a map of people convicted of a felony though - if anyone is interested in that.

Thats easy charles. Just go to an airport, any airport, and circle around. There is always like a dozen strip clubs within a 5 mile radius of the airport. If you dont' find one to your satisfaction, then go downtown, yet another proven epicenter.

Don't you live in N. Florida Krikit? If so, I can understand the meth and violence part. That is afterall one of the most backwards, redneck areas of this country. I have devised an equation to tell how bad your neighborhood is.

First, you need to count how many cars on your block or the one on either side of you has any of the following characteristics:

1) Pickup Truck with a confederate flag, Nascar sticker of a cartoon child peeing on a chevy/ford symbol
2) Piece of ####### car with expensive rims or stereo on it.
3) Gun Rack

Next, count how many houses/apartments have grass that is unkept. Not just grass that needs to be cut, but grass that needs the city to come out and inspect the premesis.

Then add the number of people who have 5+ cats, or pit bulls.

If the grand total of this is greater than 8.... you should move. If it is 4-8, you are relatively safe, but you probably have some crazies and or meth heads in your neighborhood. Less than 4, and your neighborhood is not interesting laughing.gif

Uhm.. wow. I'm not sure if I should be offended or laugh at the stupidity of this comment.

germany - at the vogelweh shopping center (american px system in kaiserslautern, germany). heard about the first plane, went to the power zone (which is the electronics department) and watched the live tv coverage. when the second one hit, i knew what was going on and went to the bank and withdrew a majority of my money out of the bank.
sure enough, the bank, px, and most installation facilities were closed for over 2 weeks afterward.

I once asked this a long time ago, but... how do Canadians tip strippers? In the U.S., you generally walk up to the stripper dancing on stage and give her a few bucks. Sometimes she lets you stuff the cash into panties and other times you can just toss it onto the stage.

The problem I see with Canadian cash is that there are $1 and $2 coins. So what do Canadians do? Do you fling loonies at her? Maybe part of her routine is avoiding a barrage of coins? tongue.gif

Seriously, though. She bought like 4 or 5 puppies, didn't house train them, locked them up in her tiny room to piss and poo all over the floor, and when she got home at night, she'd let them run wild in our apartment. I'd have to watch where I stepped the next morning.
