Canada should receive preferential treatment when immigrating the the US for family based situations

Yes I do think that certain countries should be fast tracked but I was not specific but now I will be specific: Canada should be fast tracked as most people who even consider immigrating to the US from Canada are not going their to obtain assistance or milk the system they are going for employment, school or love. Canada should receive preferential treatment, uh discrimination happens every day and me posting my opinion won't stop that.

only if they bring me a truckload of timbits per immigrant.

You should be fine. He is considered part of your personal property so you can import him the same as you bring down your pets. You need to provide veterinary records (Veterinary Health Certificate from a Government vet) and proof of certain vaccinations and you will need a vet check at the border when he crosses so you will have to co-ordinate your arrival at the border and there are specific POE you must use. There is an inspection fee for this.

Here is a link to the information that you will need: http://www.aphis.usd...rses_canada.pdf

What type of horse do you have? I was a horse crazy girl and had my own Canadian Sport Horse for 28 years. She died well before I moved here otherwise she would have come with me as well.

Thanks Anh Map and Kathryn for your help

I have a paint (but breeding stock) before I have had QH and a Paint mare (mom`s of my baby) and a Warmblood...I can`t imagine to move without him ...it would be less expensive to sell him and buy a horse in TX because it`s cheaper here...but it`s my baby....

I have an other question I won`t be moving him ...I found someone who does horses transport ...he will move him for me...I can trust him (good references) but you think he could use my K1 visa? or I will have to be there with him?

It`s 3 days of transport, 2 drivers...they have to stop to make relax and walk the horses...I was not expecting to be at the boarder at the same time...since I will be in Texas already maybe since 6 months....

What would you suggest?
Thanks again
your help is always precious
Jo
P.S. my baby at 1 year old (now close to be 4 yo)

That makes NO sense at all. The whole point of the AOS in this manner is that you unintentionally end up getting married on a visit and there was no preplanning of a marriage before hand as if so, it is considered fraud...

John and Marlene... you're USC/Philippine? Maybe the laws are different there, I'm not sure but I am pretty sure that if you file for a K1 visa, it's a fiancee visa, and then try and get married and adjust status, you could end up in a whole world of trouble....

If you're going to answer so succinctly and with such assuredness, would you mind backing it up with some sort of explanation or example. Just saying "you're wrong" doesn't help anyone.

Explain why I'm/we're wrong.

correct I would NOT advise following " john and marlene " and their advice, doing so would open a WHOLE new can of worms with USCIS as well as their advice is technically fraud!!!!!! which on vj you are not allowed to advise someone on frauding the system.

he is not advising the op on how to fraud the system....he's answering the question of the op - in that yes, it is possible. the wisest choice for the op? that's up to the op to determine.
and once before, in a thread far far away, i thought i was right about something and john was wrong - and i ate lots of crow that day. just food for thought.....

The only class I ever had that taught that subject was a specific university course entitled "Military and War in America." This went beyond the U.S., of course, but the idea was to teach military history that involved the U.S. somehow.

Seriously, if I wasn't such a history buff (specifically military) I wouldn't know a damn thing about the two world wars, much less any other conflict. I'm surprised at how little people really know. Very few I've met actually know the details of any war beyond whatever they've seen in movies.

agreed. however, that's a failing also on the individual as they can always pick up a book and read about what easily could be termed the greatest war ever fought in human existence.

My Vent for the day....

The Governor of New Jersey is considering any household that makes between approx. $80,000 and $150,000 to be "middle class". Maybe in Idaho you can consider that middle class. My husband and I probably make about $115,000 gross right now a year and we are living pay check to pay check.

How can you be considered middle class at that yearly income rate when people pay 10-20 thousand dollars a year in property taxes?

Any ways, being considered middle class now we aren't eligible for a property tax rebate or will be able to deduct our taxes on our state tax return next year.

So what did I do? I joined a campaign with thousands of other New Jerseyians that are sending in empty wallets to the Governor's office with the words "There's nothing left!"

that sucks! it seems the more we make the less we have.

Anyways on the work front, the HR just came up to talk to me, she said that this lady has had a problem with every younger person that has come to work here. She told me that I am doing a fabulous job and that I handled the situation well because I called for a meeting and tried to talk to her. I knew it wasn't just me who has had issues but I still wanted to try to fix it because I don't like the feeling of walking on egg shells around someone. I don't think the issues were resolved, I don't think it can be resolved, but I tried. smile.gif

The lady still has a job even though she walked out yesterday, threw a chair, and was generally abrasive. People are telling me to go to the GM because they are saying if he gets wind of the situation she'll be let go. It's not my intention to get someone fired. Its my intention to try to work through it, you're not going to like everyone you work with but you have to work with them. I just wanted her to be nicer while working with us, that's all.

I'm not really mad, more confused.

My MIL sent my husband a rather mean email yesterday. She emailed him at 11:00 in the morning and then she emailed him again a few hours later giving him ####### about not replying to her email. We were out ALL day.

In her email she said how she feels that he might as well live in Alaska because he never calls her to tell her what's going on in our lives. I am confused because we visit with them at least once a month, she calls him every weekend and they talk. I don't know what else she wants. She is upset that she finds out more about him on facebook. Um thats what facebook is for... to keep up to date with peoples lives. He posted about how he had a cold and she got upset that he never told her.

Then at the end of her email she throws in: "PS: You should really learn how to differentiate between the spelling of there/their because it makes you look uneducated"

Like was that really necessary?

I don't really think it was necessary. sad.gif

Also, she can come visit us, but she never has. I will stay out of it because its my husbands battle and not mine, but it still upsets me because she can be cruel at times.

Apparently she is also upset that we're going to Canada for holidays and not staying here. We live here... why can't we spend holidays with my family in Canada? unsure.gif

Anyways I just had to let it out. Carry on.

get some crystallized tear gas and spread it around out front.

yeah that would go over well in this neighborhood tongue.gif

it's pretty localized, even more fun if they are walking in it kicking it up laughing.gif

you don't want to mess with the people living around here

sounds like a good reason to move.

we do have plans to move by the end of the year good.gif

hopefully to a suburb where there's no thugs.

well nn the LA area that might be hard to find but we do plan on moving to a nicer neighborhood, hopefully into a gated community......

this neighborhood was never the greatest but it was ok until a year or so ago when supposedly about 2 or 3 well known gangs moved into the neighborhood...

remind me again, what's great again about cali? unsure.gif

the food choices are awesome because cali actually has culture.

the only way jersey can get culture is via yogurt.

Mel, you need not have any fear, you know well that you invited me here.
Be warned, most husbands don't like their wives acting like attention grabbing whores.
Not saying that you are, but you're sure heading in that direction.

the only legit invites are ones that come with a timbit...

someone say timbits? devil.gif

Ling Ling, this is the Canadian forum. Although this entire area is, technically speaking, a public forum, that does not mean we welcome anyone and everyone with open arms.

If there's a different standard of behavior that applies to the Canada forum, I'd like to see the moderators enforce it smile.gif

maybe we have to show we're adept with a seal club for entrance here? unsure.gif
