Sorry to hear about your cost/wait GnomeGrrl. sad.gif Are their different things needed for the CR-1 or when you have children that will be immigrating as well or is it really dependant on the doctor you choose?

I would also appreciate it if you could share. I'm not as worried about the cost as I am the wait! wink.gif

Hi KTG. Thanks a lot for the well wishes. smile.gif

I'm the USC but my SO is from NZ and i'd have to agree, it is the most beautiful place i've ever been! I was there again last month... and wish I still was! wink.gif

Looks like you're about to celebrate as well. Congratualtions. smile.gif

Kel.. that whole process sounds even more difficult than the K1. I'd love to be approved in May too! wink.gif

Emma.. wow, that was fast! How exciting! Thanks so much for sharing the info with us. smile.gif You'll be home before you know it! Keep us posted!

Hello cdneh. smile.gif When do you plan on filing?

Justine, you still with us? wink.gif

Mark... we're all waiting for you to get home to NZ to get your packet 3! laughing.gif

Kel, hope things are moving along for you even with this new quirk in the process. I really hope they don't change anything more before we're at that point. Being delayed because of something that could have been prevented would frustrate me to no end.

Justine, glad things are going in the right direction for you! You must be gettng so excited! We're hoping Russell will be here by the end of June as well. Maybe a bit optomistic on our part but with the way VSC is processing applications right now we feel pretty confident we wont have to wait too long for an approval. 3 weeks and 3 days left!

emma...I would imagine you have packet 3 by now. How are things going?

Mark... i'm sure your packet 3 is just sitting at home waiting for you!

Happy Easter to you all.

Is the appointment post just for the K3/CR-1's??? So you need to now send everything to the NVC? How does that work?

I'm itching to get out into my yard and work on the gardens. We usually ready for yard clean up and have a few things sprouting by now but we just had more snow this morning! Looking forward to spring!! My house dropped $60,000 in just a couple years time, just in time for me to refinance it into my name, so I feel for you! It is what it is, right? wink.gif

Yes, we're getting very excited. And a bit impatient too! I'm just waiting on a package with all the info I needed from Russel and just need to print off a few things but we're almost there. smile.gif

Good luck with those photos!

emma.... based on other's timlines, the consulate should be receiving your approval notice today! Of course, it will probably show up just after sammy sends it by fax! laughing.gif It's really good to know they are so accomodating! I've also been told you can call/mail to expedite your interview as well. Do let us know if that's something you try!

kel.... I see NZ is part of this appointment post processing for immigrant visa's now. Hope that didn't put too big a bump in your path!

We're having a difficult time being apart from each other. sad.gif After sharing our lives for so long it just seems 'wrong' not to have him here. The typing, the emails, the webcam and phone....it's just not enough. *sigh* Everything is just 'in limbo'...but it's been that way for years now. Enough is enough! I guess it's a good thing that with kids, my house, my job... my days just fly by. Russell, on the other hand, can't really put his masters degree back to work because he's leaving soon and doens't want to leave another job he's just started, so his days sorta drag. He did get a contract job in NZ that he'll start next week which should help time go by faster for him as well. It will be up mid-June which is about the time we're hoping he'll at least be closer to coming home!

I remember being here at VJ in September of last year when he was denied entry. People then were waiting 6-8 months and more for just their approvals. When I went to see him in January, people were still waiting long periods of time so leaving him in February was just tragic for us both! We didn't think we'd be together until at least October.

So, I try to stay positive knowing that we get to file with Vermont and they've really sped up with their processing. I know it's just a few months more but Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

T-minus 4 weeks and 6 days to file day!!!

I hope you are all well!

Wow Emma....dunno how I missed that! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Yes, Sammy needs to print the 134 and have it notorized then send it to you. He also needs another 'original' letter of intent to marry, original documents and some other things...see below! You're going to need a bunch of passport photos too.

You can track your approval from the NVC to the Consulate.

This is from the guides....

QUOTE
What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2): 1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).
2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.
3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).
4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.
5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.
6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.
7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

Well, if you can believe this, I have three calls into the registrar of deeds last week to confirm that I can go pick up my divorce decree from the courthouse tomorrow and still no call back! I am legally divorced as of today and a couple months ago he told me to call back to confirm I could get my certified copy as early as 'the next day'. If I don't get a call back today i'm not going to be happy. I've been patient enough! I printed out almost everything I need all day yesterday. 10 years worth of 'everything'! Had just a few things left....when I got an error, tried to reboot... and got a bios error on startup! It's just my luck! Good thing I fix computers! wink.gif

So, today promises to be crazy. Tomorrow all I want is to watch my bank account drop! wink.gif

Oh man...waiting on bits of paper..how I can identify with that!

I'm still waiting on a couple of things..long form birth certificate and Canadian police report..but nothing that I need right away.

Two days ago, after checking and rechecking and checking again (paranoia on my part) I sent a package off to my fiancee with all my bits and bobs. He should have it in a week...and then he can add his bits and bobs and file...already!

Hi Guys,

first off this isn't kim, its her ....i'd like to say significant other, whistling.gif

shes out celebrating and having a well deserved drink right now so i figured i would be the one to fill you guys in because really i am just so 'chuffed' kicking.gif

we filed today, well she did as she did most of the work, she sent it by courier and should be there at VSC at 3 pm tomorrow to be added to the top of the pile of a box where it will be the first to be reviewed and accepted (asking too much? after 10 years of waiting i dont think so innocent.gif )

everything going well i could be there in as little as two months, at this stage we really aren't waiting around for anything, any form that needs to be filled out is being filled as we get it and sent the same day, some people would say impatient, i would have to agree with them but the time apart is really dragging out and i miss her damnit tongue.gif

i am sure kim will fill you in on the specifics if you have any questions you need to ask tongue.gif i will be lurking around as normal

i hope everything is going well for you all, believe me when i say i know how stressful all this can be, just remember the light at the end of the tunnel

luv

Russ

BIG BIG CONGRATS for being able to file already.. we have been waiting with Kim for this... and we will wait and hope and pray with you guys that you will get approved the soonest!

Sorry, I know this is: offtopic45vn.gif

I have been thinking of alternative plans in the event our visa is denied.

One idea in my mind is moving to New Zealand. There are some very good universities there and I am a professor.

Does anyone know if there is a problem with either American or Chinese people getting permanent residency in NZ? Are there any other potential problems I might not think of?

Any thoughts or opinions would be interesting. Thanks for any responses. good.gif

Hi all

Mark, congrats on the approval and thanks for posting the review, I'm starting to think about what I need to do at the consulate so every bit of info helps!

I'm currently in North Carolina on vacation in the Outerbanks with my husband and some friends of ours. It's great to have time off, and to actually be here in the USA.

The day I arrived in the US our final coversheet from NVC turned up so I was able to send in all those documents, if everything was correct we should be getting approval sometime next week. Then it'll be sent through to Auckland where I'll just have the medical and turning up for the 'interview' to go. Yippee.

Getting in to the US was a breeze. I had been worried about being stopped at the border. They are aware that the last time I came through we got married but it was a very easy process all in all. Got a couple of questions about where I was staying, with who, and was my husband a US citizen. Then I was told to have a great vacation and was on my way breezing through to baggage claim.

My house isn't moving it all, in the last month I've had only one person come through and take a look, hope you're having better luck gnomegrrl.

The good news is that this time next week I'll be in California, yippee. I'm now starting to put together anything I can think of to convince people at the POE that I'll leave again so they'll let me in!

Off topic is fine smile.gif

New Zealand operates a points system for people looking to immigrate. I think that it's an easier process than immigrating to the USA. You can find out more info here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/

As far as any problems getting residency, I don't believe so, if you fit within the points criteria. We have a large Chinese community here in Auckland, at least.
