Silly question time Kim...nothing seems to be going out of DHL at the moment...and now that it's the new year, I have to change what I enter under reference right?

2008A becomes 2009A?

right! wink.gif Hopefully they're not 'on' to us and changing how they do things! Otherwise, we'll have some work to do to figure out how they track them now. laughing.gif

It sounds like the Embassy in AUK is as helpful as always. I know they can issue an inquiry to NVC and specifically ask for the file to be sent. That is what someone from one of my 'many' phone calls to NVC stated. Perhaps that's what they're saying... I certainly hope so! Enough is enough. Do something kind for YOU and try your best to keep your spirits up until then. smile.gif

Ivanna, I'm not really clear on what you're asking. As long as you each filled out a I-134 with employment info and anual income, and both included supporting evidence of income (tax papers, paystubs, letter from employers) you should be all set. If your uncle meets the minimum requirement for supporting your fiance he will not need bank statements or proof of assets.

Another ice storm going on outside right now. Oui, winter in New England! wacko.gif

You have to be semi insane to live in the Northeast really. Luckily up here in Burlington VT it is supposed to be all snow and it actually looks like it has stopped. The summer make it worth it though. Warm and there are so many rivers and lakes to swim in. Plus the scenery isn't too bad.

Still there as of right this minute.

I dont think I'd worry Michelle...I mean in order to move countries you kind of have to quit right?

cdneh- My husband and I also thought of the Canada route and just as I was getting frustrated enough to investigate it everything fell into place. We also thought about England but it seemed even more of a hassle then US immigration. For me not for him. I keep cheking and hoping to see that your package is in NZ. I can't imagine the frustration of finally hitting NVC and having this happen. Keep strong. It will be worth it when it is all said and done. Even though all said and done seems likes forever away!

Well one thing at least with Canada....they have to take me yes.gif

Thanks for that, and I do appreciate all the support. It's just hard to keep your chin up now and then.

Yes, they do have prepaid cards. I'm not sure if all phones are created equally as far as calling overseas though. The verizon people told me it would not work... whistling.gif so it's possible they don't even know. I know Verizon owns vodaphone (or the other way around) so I guess that's why our phones worked.... all 4 I might add.

Kai, I don't know how it works in AUS. All I know is that Dr. Stone in NZ only wanted Russell's A# or new case number to schedule the medical. Our approved petition hadn't even been sent from NVC yet when he went.

Ana, getting closer! Good luck!

You hadn't even met him or been to the U.S. before you came here. You came with good intention and not with the idea that you would marry him and want to stay forever. I would never advise this to you if I thought you were breaking the law. You really just couldn't know, or even have filed, before having met him in person. I still say go for it. wink.gif

Oh and ....I read you were missing some things from home... I think you can get just about anything you're looking for if you check online.

amaciar... just so you know, verizon wirless phones work between here and NZ... at least our 4 do. Russell actually had one on my plan while he was back home. It does cost (unsure the amount) but not too bad really. We text each other all day/night long for more than a year and my bill was never that much higher. If you are looking for a good phone card tho... nobelcom.com is a great website. I've used them for calling NZ since 2000....until I found out about my verizon phones working. laughing.gif

ivanna, they don't care about his income...they care about his ability and desire to work once he's here. wink.gif Have him bring a resume/CV to the interview.

Also, let me just share this with you...perhaps it would make you feel better. laughing.gif Russell left his job in AUS (a job where he made well over 6 figures) in 2006 to come to the U.S. just so we could be together. I was separated, but still legally married. My ex, who i'm still friendly with, gave me a difficult time in getting the divorce papers signed. Anyway, we (Russell and I) spent our entire savings (we're talking in the tens and tens of thousands of dollars) travelling around the world and leaving the U.S. every 3 months for a weekend abroad just so that we could be together. We were also blind to the process and just assumed we could be together then marry when I was 'eligible'. Ummm Duh! laughing.gif My ex continued to hold off and ...on one fateful journey to Dublin to meet the VWP guidelines... my love was denied entry and returned to NZ. Me... still married! Grrrrrrrrr. Needless to say, after spending more than a couple of years living together and travelling the world, we were forced to wait apart for one year... we had to wait for my divorce to become final (which in the end I had to hire a lawyer for) and then the months it took for this process. Now, I consider myself a relatively intelligent person but you certainly wouldn't be able to tell after the mess we found ourselves in. Russell (this man w ho worked so hard for his master's degree and left a great job) has now not worked in his field in almost 3 years. Savings depleted and debt rising to more than it was when I was in my early 20's. So when you add up the 75,000 or so in travel, that times 6 or so in lost wages and all the misery and stress it has caused ....yeah smile.gif ..... feel better? laughing.gif

Nice to see so many posts here this weekend! Oh, and i'm 39...Russell is 30... but i'm not getting older... i'm just getting 'better'. wink.gif

Hi guys, I am filling out my forms to send to the Consulate and I have a question regarding the form DS-156K...

On my letter it states:
FIRST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING FORMS AND RETURN IMMEDIATELY:
- The enclosed application for NZ Police Certificate
- Form DS-156
- Form DS-156K
- etc

So while I am filling out my Form DS-156K, near the bottom after Q5, it states "The following documents must be attached in order to apply for a fiance nonimmigrant visa: Birth Certificate, evidence of engagement for your fiance, police certificates".

Do I just send the DS-156K without said attachments, and just bring the attachments to the interview? I.E you bring the police certificates, birth certificate, evidence etc to the interview, and the consulate attaches all of the above things to that form with you there.

I don't see how it is possible to send the police certificate WITH the police certificate application. *confused*

That's in case you have police certificate's for more than on country, like i have. And you bring those things, like the brith certificate with you.

All the Dr is interested in is the report, which they would have taken out of the big envelope at the Dr's office. I got a copy of it in the post as well.

He takes it with him, on the plane, in case they want it at POE.

when i picked mine up from xray place, my eyes rounded like saucers when the lady came out and handed them to me!! i was like what the heck?? LOL!!

i then did a hike back to docs surgery, burning rubber from the soles of my jandals as i tried to speed along, with the large xray envelope flapping in my hand with each stride wink.gif

I do hope we all don't have to lug that thing on the plane with us when we head to the US!! Or i will have to buy an extra seat just to house the thing on!! tongue.gif

so don't we have to show the xrays when we go to a civil surgeon over there to have a transcript done from our vaccination records?

I packed my xray in my check in luggage.....I hadn't read anywhere that they required it at POE and to be honest I had way to much other ####### to cart with me as hand luggage. They never requested it at all.

yes and i just learned tonight that on Friday there is the 'big day out' music festival on at mt smart. usually over 30,000 people go to it. I realise its not in the city but just not sure how busy the traffic is going to be from all sides of the city that day. I plan to leave VERY early just to be on the safe side yes.gif

Oh the Big Day Out of It. (That's what we call it at work...Ambulance) The Motorway North and South around MtWell off ramp might be backed up, what time is your interview? They don't get too nuts until the middle of the day, and we set up at about 0600 to avoid it all.
