I've heard some rumors about them going to, or needing, only one page but we all know the problems rumors can start! wink.gif

Because your fiance is filing with the uscis here in the States and the process is a bit different I'd still send all 4 pages (signed originals).

If you fill the first page it will repeat the information for you. wink.gif

Michelle,

On the I-129f Q.10... Check that he was born in the US and leave the field you are referring to blank. Here is the link to the Example Form to help you out.

The 4 pages of the G-325a look the same but they are not. When you fill out and/or print the form it will automatically fill the others and print all 4 pages. You need each of these pages for each of you. There is also an example form for this that you can use for reference.

Take a deep breath, perhaps a glass of wine wink.gif... go over the information on your forms.... print out the checklist in the Guides and cross each off as you add each item to your package.

Very cool that you folks are so close to each other!

Justine, I think you would be fine adjusting from status at a later date this year considering this is your first meeting with Jordan and you didn't enter the US with the intention of marrying on this visit. smile.gif

Justine, thank you for taking the time to write. I'm so happy that you are finally in Jordan's arms and I can completely understand what you mean by it just feeling normal. I first met Russell after knowing him for 5 years and it was as though we were together all the time. Here we are 5 years later and it's even better! I hope it stays that way for you too!

I should be hearing back about my titer test tomorrow. I am hoping not to have to get too many...I've never minded giving shots, but I am no fan of being on the receiving end no0pb.gif

At least I've begun good and early , so I haven't got to get them all at once.

I've just come back from our local MedLab. The Canadian government hasn't got records about immunization for anyone my age, they only hang on to those for 25 years. *cough* Well over the time limit to find anything out.

So I went to my Doc, who ordered up a list for the titer test based on the requirements and sent me off. It isn't covered, but all the same I was a bit shocked to find out the cost for that test was 284.00. blink.gif

I had it done, I mean really what else can I do. Now I'm wondering how many of those will come back to reflect low or no immunity, and how many of those on the list I'll need again huh.gif

Right before the fee increase last year they moved all I-129f's to the two centers (Vermont & California) only. Because they are funded by our petitions, after the influx, they hired and trained many new staff. There is also a new director and we know because of IMBRA and the Adam Walsh Act, there are new database checks. We can only really speculate on how the process will change from here but it seems to be evening out the time it takes at both centers at the very least.

Aha..I thought (hoped even) it was something they'd just done wink.gif

The good news is that hopefully with the new staff, new director and perhaps new procedures set up, Vermont will start speeding up again for you folks! I hope so!

Are they doing all that??? I hadn't heard! Been out to lunch with the flu..

Finally we have a noa1 ... kicking.gif

It took 25 days before we got one..I was getting pretty worried we would have to refile. But as hard as it was to wait, I was relieved to see we weren't the only ones waiting on that. I wonder what on earth Vermont was doing that such a big group of people were left in such limbo?

All going well without further hiccups, I was hoping to get 'home' in time for Christmas...but I'm not sure about that now. Flights are going to be tough to book around the holidays, and without having the slightest idea of when...it's hard to know what the heck to do really unsure.gif

Hi cdneh! What part of Auckland are you from? I reside in Bucklands Beach smile.gif

Hey guys, we changed our username on here to more accurately represent ourselves, so I'm no longer Lux. I just paid for my tickets to go and see Evan in September! Hope the immigration officer lets me in!

I'm in Blockhouse Bay, and I work in Mt Wellington. Bucklands Beach is lovely!

I had leave booked for July, and was thinking about going over to VA then....but as we were meant to be filing in April, we decided to be sensible and wait it out. However, we struck a paperwork glitch and didn't get filed until a couple of months later....I so wish I had just gone ahead with our plans and visited. It's looking like next year now. unsure.gif

Thanks Grant and kelzm for letting us know what happens. It certainly puts my mind at ease as i had visions of myself racing around trying to get all the vaccines done from that LONG list that you find through links here on VJ before going to the medical! I was wondering how my body would cope with all those injections in one go!! ohmy.gif
It's the not knowing what happens through each process stage that is kind of nervewracking at times, so it is GREAT to hear from others such as yourselves who have gone through that process in Auckland. yes.gif

It certainly is 'flu' weather here in New Zealand and i hope those that have it feel better soon. rose.gif

Yankiwi: I agree with you with the weather, it seems to get worse as each winter passes in Auckland. When i returned from my months vacation in California (to be with my partner). I discovered a storm had spread over NZ whilst away and the wind and rain was so severe that water(rain) had been 'blown' into my kitchen all the way through to the laundry through the sides and under the front door. The house smelt mouldy when i arrived home and I had to throw away sopping wet mats etc. The tv aerial on the roof was blown over.... R.I.P huh.gif

I hope you find relief for your arthritis when you move to USA. Any place over there must surely be drier than Auckland star_smile.gif

Grant: Thank you for telling us about the medical. It sure seems that there are quite a few costs involved. I wonder how much it all comes to at the end of the process? On second thoughts.. Maybe it pays not to know no0pb.gif
When you went to the medical, did you have to take immunisation records with you? I'm still not sure if you are suppose to get vaccines done before the medical or after or what? It sounds like the medical went very smoothly, which is good to hear!! good.gif

Kelvan: It sounds like your friend is looking at quite an expense to get the police reports done. so if for instance, someone has lived in different towns in NZ, do they have to pay for each police report for each town? I spent a little time in Australia many moons ago. Does anyone know how one goes about getting a police report from there? Can the US embassy here help you with that or is it up to ones devices to find out? Just curious.

Kelzm: not long to go before you move. How exciting!! biggrin.gif I wiill definitely try and see Dr Stone when the time comes.

Kim: Thats GREAT that it has been touched again!! good.gif It's getting oh so close!!! you can almost taste it!! yes.gif

Amaciar: once again best wishes and good luck tomorrow!! smile.gif

cdneh: Wow! $284!!! What is the list of vaccines required? Records of my vaccines have long gathered moss and are lying next to dinosaur bones somewhere!! laughing.gif So i will no doubt have to get all the vaccines that are required by USCIS.

Grant, Yankiwi and Amaciar: What happened when you had your medicals. Was it very long? Did the doctor examine you etc? And what vaccines did you have? Good luck and best wishes to you all for your interviews!! Hope you will let us know how the interview goes and how long it took etc...

Kelvan and Michelle: It's great that your packages have been sent. Hope you receive your NOA1's real FAST!! yes.gif

Kim: I think you must be the most patient person on earth!! I take my hat off to you! good.gif You have waited for what seems like an eternity!! I know you will get it soon!!! Before you know it, you will be in each others arms again!! star_smile.gif

Hi Chris... so glad you came to post with us!!! I'm sorry you had to part... jeeesh I hate that! Did you go trough Auckland??? If so, they're pretty used to our breakdowns! rofl.gif I know.. not funny...but you gotta laugh or you'll lose your mind really. Yours is quite the story and, like us, you're so used to the waiting game. I know you'll do just fine! It's great to see you are on your way! Congratulations! In case you didn't get a thread in which I answered.. here's what a touch looks like. wink.gif

So, we're still waiting. We're trying to be patient but grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr almost 4 months with VSC?... really! headbonk.gif Some jack@ss stole Russell's cell phone the other night as well (it was from the states) so now we're having to deal with that disrupt in the little communication that we do have. Oh well...such is life... and it goes on. wink.gif Nice to see you folks moving along ..hoping for good things on the 13th and the 19th!!! Do keep us posted!

Hi Kim...yes, i arrived back in auckland. When i got on plane at lax i was a total mess (emotionally). crying.gif Saying goodbyes is soo hard for sure!
But it is a small world, so to speak, as i discovered the lady on the plane next to me was canadian and she was going to Auckland to see her SO, who was a kiwi. She hadn't seen him in TWO years! wow.gif so i felt very fortunate in that aspect that the separation from my partner is yearly and not more!

Thank you so much for the sample of what a touch looks like. I registered at the website, and it gave a date of 28th july. so my first touch!! i realise it probably meant that they just took the file from a desk, put it in a box and stored it away with the other 100,000 applicants, but it was quite exciting to see that! yes.gif
Every time i visit vj, i hope that i will see a post from you that says that you have received your noa2! It's going to happen very very soon!! star_smile.gif

And i just want to say.....many thanks to EVERYONE for all the wonderful advice given to newbies like myself . (I will certainly try and get the doctor at remuera for the medical when the time comes! wink.gif

Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to say hi! I have posted to visa journey before but not to regional discussion. I didn't know it existed till Kim kindly told me about it. ( Hi Kim!)

I returned from a months vacation in USA two days ago, to spend time with my SO. we have known each other 10 years. It had been a year since we had last seen each other. Needless to say it was very hard for me to leave and to come back home again :-( ( i know many of you know what that feeling is like)

We filed our 1129f form on 14th july and received noa on 24th july, so am at the very early stages of this long journey :-) but am excited, anxious, impatient...... (you name the emotion and i am feeling it, hehe)
It's comforting to find that one is not alone in this journey and there are others out there going through the same thing.

One question that i do have is that when reading posts, i often hear of peoples forms being 'touched'. How do you find out if it has been touched or not?
I did go to the uscis site and type in my number but it just says that the form has been received and pending. there is no mention of any 'touch'.

I didn't have any record of my immunisations either by record or through blood tests. I was asked if I had measles and chickenpox when I was young, since I had, that seemed to satisfy all requirements apart from the tetanus shot which I'd had about 15 years ago so I needed to get the nurse to give me another one.

I sympathize with my fellow job hunters. I've been looking for a while now, just to see what kind of things turn up that I can do, now it's getting more serious since there's just over a month to go before the move. I'm going in to my lawyers today to sign the paperwork for my house sale, my last 'big' task that needed organising will then be out of the way.

For those of you still to do your medical I really recommend Dr. Marcus Stone. He seems to be a lot cheaper than everyone else and the the whole appointment was easy, quick and he got the results through within a few days to the embassy.

I think the wait between NOA1 and NOA2 is the worst part. You can't get any information, you're just stuck waiting in no mans land.

The new CR1 process for NVC is great though, you can be in and out of there in a month since it's all done online. Looking forward to that for my sons application.

Yankiwi - glad to hear Chris's medical went so well. Dr Marcus Stone definitely seems to be the most cost effective (which was important to me!). So many August interviews, not that long to go at all... August begins this week after all! Kim I'm crossing my fingers that Russell gets to have his August interview too, I'm sure you must be close to approval.

Today was a good news day for me. I got the call from my sons principal to say that they've approved him staying and keeping his scholarship and I also got a call from my lawyer to say that the sale of my house has now gone unconditional.

So, I'm busy preparing - garage sale next weekend, pack up the house and move out to my parents the weekend after, then finish up all the other bits and pieces and look at flying out mid-September. kicking.gif

Hey all,

Did some reading on AirNZ rules for baggage to USA.

In economy you get two bags at 23kgs. Flights to the US work on the piece system so every bag you have over the 2 is counted as a piece and charged at that cost, rather than charged by the kilo. Each extra bag on the piece system if flying from Auckland to LA or San Francisco costs $175.

I know I have too much for two bags, I'm hoping to get away with 3, paying $175 for an extra 23kgs seems like a decent deal to me.

Links to the info are:

hehe i'm thinking of those small goals, 3-4 weeks to the NOA1, then maybe 4 months to the NOA2, then another 2-3 months for it all to be sent back here to the consulate, then what another month or two before the interview?

for me, cutting it down to those smaller steps makes it a little easier to bear tongue.gif
