Asia: Southplease help!! important question about police certificate for my fiancee!
So I sent packet 3.5 forms to my fiancee in Pakistan. The embassy actually emailed me the forms and I filled out what I can, and sent them to my fiancee to sign and send to the US embassy in Pakistan.

My question is, can she get her police certificate down now? Or does she have to take the documents, which I have emailed her, to the police and then they will make that police certificate for her??

additional question, should she get the medical exam done now? Or wait until they send her an interview date??

Make sure you tell the police officer to write both addresses in the certificate.

do you have to present the police your documents from the embassy for them to give your fiance the police certificate? Or can you get the police certificate by just asking for it?

Asia: SouthTraveling Abroad With Wife's Expired Green Card To Bangladesh
Hello folks,

I am U.S Citizen & my wife is the green card holder. Her card expired 6 months ago & we are on the pending list of " Removing Conditions on Residency" with Vermont Service Center .Our return ticket is already confirmed via Emirates Airways. We have received the 1 year extension letter & we have the expired green card also. I am wondering on our way back to the U.S will the customs at Bangladesh airport inquire about re-entry visa to US? My wife passport has the the CR1 expired visa stamp along with the expired green card & extension letter. We will also carry the biometrics appointment letter (wife took finger print already).

I have already asked the same question on another forum (Link Below) & got the answer as well but, I would like to know from someone's personal experiences traveling to Bangladesh with expired green card. Any feed back is extremely appreciated.

Thank You.

Asia: SouthForeign court marriage in Nepal

Hi everybody,

My fiancé and I have been planning on getting married in Nepal this winter. I am a student in the US so only have a few weeks to stay there. The plan was that I would stay as long as I can, then come back to the US for school and apply for the CR-1 visa. Now his friends are telling us that I need to live in Nepal for six months before the Nepal government will allow him to marry a foreigner. Is this true?? I have been researching and can't find anything about this. If it's true is there any way to get around it?

I am in the same situation as you are. I have heard that you have to be in Nepal for at least 2 weeks to register your marriage with CDO office. Good luck. Keep in touch.

Asia: SouthCo-Sponcer for K1 visa Pakistan

You should search this topic this has been discussed a lot because of the recent experiances at interviews. The reality is there is NO regulations that clearly define this, sometimes they allow it and other time they refuse. Something similar to the Admin Process which can take 2 to 3 weeks others have been on it for years! Good luck with searching for an answer if you get clarification please share it with us.

Another alternative would be to ask the embassy, below is a link to resources of contacting the embassy.

Thanks for your help i will try to contact embassy for this issue too then i will let u know hope i will get the right guide line regarding my case ..

Asia: SouthCo-Sponcer for K1 visa Pakistan

One of the member’s asked the embassy for clarification on the view the embassy replied "the use of a cosponsors is to the discretion of the interviewing agent" so in essense it is totally up to the interviewing agent. Generally if they do not see any other issues with the case they will not bring this up as a issue.

It means there isn't any kind of US Law which doesn't allow co-sponsorship for K1 Visa for Pakistan if I am not wrong it all depends on the CO either he/she prove co-sponsor or decline but i am not satisfied with above mention Answers still haven't got the clear image yet . need more comments please .

You can resubmit the a corrected version of the joint sponsor's I-134 and/or obtain a different person to be a joint sponsor.

A congressman or Senator cannot help with this.

Islamabad has accepted joint sponsors in the past.

1. You can try submitting an I-864 from the joint sponsor, as well as the supporting documents for the joint sponsor's I-864.

or...

2. Your petitioner can get a job which meets the income requirements, and then submit a few paycheck stubs and a letter from the employer.

Asia: SouthCall from Embassy 2 weeks before the interview requesting Original Birth certificate!

Hello to all VJers..
I got a phone call from Islamabad embassy and they asked me to get the Original Birth Certificate. Now My wife had already sent them the original(Nadra)birth certificate to NVC and in the instruction package I received from NVC states that they have received my Original birth certificate with a sign "O". So what now, is that normal? Do I go to Nadra and get me another one made as i do have the photocopy of the previous one? I can get that done easily...and it only takes a day or two max to get it from Karachi Nadra office as my interview is on the 14th of this month. Please advise if there's something else I'm supposed to do. Thanks in advance

They may be asking for the actual birth certificate before the NADRA began issuing them. If you have the birth certificate from that take that to them. My husband had one from the hospital where he was born but I think the hospital is no longer there but we took that made certified copies/went to NADRA got one from there as well. Sent both originals into them. (kept copies as backup) Got them back at the interview.

Call them and ask them if that is what they are wanting and if you dont have the original then ask them what they need instead and tell them the NADRA original is with your packet already. See if they have any other options for you.

Good luck to you!
