Last year you only made 15'000 and you supported two kids too? You must be great at budget management!
You have three options:
- take a better/ second job. There may not be time for that.
- Do you have any assets? You can use savings, a second car or a 401K to help make up the shortfall.
- Get a co-sponsor.

can i get co-sponser from my dad....! and how much? i and my 2 kids are means we are living in his house....! my son is only 2 and daughter is 4 year old...!

You will need to take with you a copy of the I-129F packet that you sent in to the USCIS. You will also be required to fill out the Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) and supply financial records to go with it (last 6 months of Paycheck stubs and last 3 years of tax transcripts) from the person who is petitioning for you and if needed a Co-Sponsor. You must meet the poverty guidelines to show that you can support the person who is being requested to come to the USA (http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf)

You will also need to take anything that can prove that you have a real and bonefide relationship with the fiance. This should include pictures, telephone records, emails, proof of gifts for each other; basically anything that you have that can show you communicate with each other on a regular basis and support each other and that others support your relationship as well.

Then you should practice answering questions to ensure that you can articulate yourself well and don't get flustered when a question is asked that you aren't sure about. They can ask any question about your fiance, family, work, friends, etc. Anything to help them come to know that your realationship is real.

I hope that helps!

My Fiance had his interview on October 15th , and the interviewer did tell him that co-sponsors were NOT allowed. However, he did NOT mark public charge on his refusal sheet. He only marked AP processing and asked for more records on the Co sponsor. So , I am also very confused if they will accept a co-sponsor or not . Again the interviewer said no Co Sponsor , but then asked for w2's of the Co-sponsor. The whole thing is crazy.

You definitely need to provide USCIS and NVC the copies of your divorce certificate and original respectively. How can you obtain it? You need someone in Pakistan to do that for you. When it comes to Union Council or any Government related department, they can be a royal pain in the bottom and never want to do their job without getting some Quaid-e-Azam (that is the grease someone talked about earlier).

Union Council gives a bilingual Divorce Certificate which is basically registered with NADRA. You may also require an Urdu Divorce Certificate (Certificate Talaq as they state in Urdu). Take note that Union Councils have ceased to issue it ever since the latest bilingual Divorce Certificate came in to the picture however the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad still requires it no matter what (in most cases that I studied here on VJ). This again shall be a pain in your bottom as it was in mine but once again, a little "grease" shall ease that pain.

Third possible obstacle, "Divorce Certificate from Family Court". In some cases, the applicants were asked by the Embassy to provide a Divorce Certificate from Family Court. If the divorce/ Khula was initiated by the wife then it will be needed however, if the divorce/talaq was initiated by husband then it is not required but you may still need to get a "Letter of Opinion" from a lawyer in Pakistan stating that the divorce was initiated / given by husband so family court did not get involved and a divorce certificate from them is not required in your case. This letter has to be sent to NVC.

Now, come to your question about sponsoring your spouse. If your ex-spouse never entered U.S. then you can still sponsor your current spouse. When you fill in the Affidavit of Support I believe you are asked if you have ever sponsored anyone before? You shall reply it as Yes and also attach a letter of explanation stating whom you sponsored, when and how it was terminated before it was even used. (This is just my opinion though and things could be different and perhaps someone more experienced here could offer you better advice). All the best.

Asia: SouthHelp on Divorce Certificate AFTER 2nd marriage please

After doing some research on the internet regarding divorce procedures in Karachi and I've come across 2 terms: "Divorce Deed" and "Divorce Certificate".

Are either one of these acceptable?

Divorce Deed: It refers either to that letter of Talaq which you sent to your ex-wife or a formal Divorce Deed from local Union Council (they do not issue it anymore) but it states that the husband named so and so, son of so and so sent a divorce letter to the woman named so and so on this date xx through Arbitrary Council (Union Council) and after failure of reconciliation on xx date, the divorce was finalized and is considered effective on xx date.

Divorce Certificate: It is a bilingual (English & Urdu) divorce certificate issued by local Union Council, printed on a NADRA paper, registered in NADRA database.

Note: To get any or both of the above mentioned documents, you or someone on your behalf needs to contact the local Union Council in Karachi. As for your question regarding the acceptance of either one, it depends on Canadian Immigration requirements but both of these are required by U.S. Embassy in Islamabad for second marriage cases.
Hope this helps.

NADRA can issue a original copy of Baiy form (not sure of spelling) but bascially it has all the information that is on there also. My wife lost her birth certificate given to her at birth, It was submitted to her school and they missplaced it. Anyways she sent in the Original and also the Baiy form.

She sent the Original? the bilingual one from Union Council on NADRA paper or something else? Was it accepted?

The NVC want a birth certificate in Urdu.
The one issued by NADRA / Union Council is bilingual (Urdu & English). Is there any way to get a birth certificate only in Urdu? I live in Lahore, Pakistan.
Or has anyone submitted the birth certificate from NADRA and it was approved?

______3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE:_______________________________________

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate
government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the
original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

As stated in beginning of this thread, I have stated that I have submitted an Original Birth Certificate and a photocopy of it, just that it was not issued by NADRA but it is nonetheless original. Above is the message I received from the NVC. Now the question is, how to obtain a Birth Certificate from NADRA when I was born back in 1979. There is no guarantee that if I get a Bey-Form, NVC will accept it.

I sent my Original Birth Certificate which was issued by City District Government Lahore Pakistan. It shows my father's name, my mother's name, grandfather's name, age of my mother at the time of delivery, place of birth, date of birth and my permanent address. It is the only one I had, was accepted for Singapore immigration with no problems at all.
Received RFE / e-mail from NVC today that they require the Original / Certified copy of Birth Certificate.

I have no clue what else to send? I had my wife call them immediately and she told the operator I have sent the original one and a photocopy of it so the operator told her that he has marked it in system and has recommended it for another review which shall take another 10-12 days :(

Any advice from Pakistani member who went through this? If the birth certificate from City District Government Lahore Pakistan is not acceptable by them then from which authority do they require the birth certificate or which one did you send? Thanks.

Asia: SouthPolice record question for pakistan?

do you have to present the police your documents from the embassy for them to give your fiance the police certificate? Or can you get the police certificate by just asking for it?

1. Go to SP office and get the application form (English and Urdu).
2. If you have lived at more than one places in same city, get more Urdu forms accordingly, if not then just one will do.
3. Fill in the details on all forms.
4. Attach 3 passport photos, 2 copies of your National ID card and 1 copy of your passport biographical data page (first 2 pages of your passport) with English form.
5. Attach 1 passport size photo and 1 copy of your ID card with Urdu form.
6. Submit it back to the office and wait 7 days. You shall be given a receipt to receive the PCC on given date.
7. Go to office on given date, bring your original passport and ID card with you. You shall receive your PCC.

Note: You might be called to some Police Station for verification purpose. I was called and the guy simply asked me to show him my National ID card, what I did for a living and that was it.

Since I don't live in Pakistan (tickets are not cheap either), if I can not find a reliable relative (my luck that my family isn't all that), what would you recommend? Would it be possible to hire someone (again trust then becomes the issue)?

you must have some of your friends there. Try to talk to them, everything is possible in Pakistan if you have good connections. what about your new in-laws.

As stated above her K-3 expired while she was in Pakistan, nothing was filed further. She has not been in the US since (As far as I am aware). So what exactly do I have to be concerned with?

My divorce occurred in Pakistan as there was no where for me to file any documentation here. If there is please do tell me where as I have no marriage certificate for USA. I never married her here. I sent my divorce letter to her and the Union Council. Anyone have advice how I can get the Union Council in Pakistan to send me a divorce decree?

Either you have to go or your family member to the union council. They will be able to provide you with the divorce decree. If you face some trouble then a little GREASE  will solve your problem and speedup the process.
