Hi,

I got my nikah done 24th of september and my wedding was on 27th of September. If they ask me at the interview when did I get married, what should I say? 24th or 27th?

And I don't have any pics for my nikah.

Thank you.

The easiest would be for her to visit you.

Otherwise I have seen Turkey mentioned a few times. The south coast is very nice, if you are looking for a beach holiday. I went to Bodrum many years ago.

That list items in the instructions that you are referencing come after a very important statement which reads, "in addition to the required documentation" which means all items that follow said statement are not a requirement.

Such affidavits are not required and carry very little weight if you choose to include them.

You best evidence is that of time spent together in-person.

Asia: SouthQuestion about flights...

Hi guys, My fiance went to the travel agency to book his flight and he wanted to book it thru american airline but the flight will stop in London and than from there to chicago, the agent is saying that London has made a new rule and all pakistani must have some sort of visa to enter in London, so he said he cant book that flight for us and told us to find out if he will need a visa for London before he can book it for us. I have never heard anything like this before, he will just connect his flight in london and go on his way to Chicago and than to me. Is this true or are the travel agents being dumb?.... thanks..

Your best bet is to double check with the British High Commission in Pakistan, so they can give you the correct information.

Asia: SouthVisitor visa from Jakarta embassy

My wife would like her family to visit this summer. I can send a letter and sponsor them or not. Does it hurt their chances of approval or help them if we invite and offer to sponsor their visit? I have read on here that sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.

Any successes or advice on what works?

Obtaining tourist visas can be difficult. Submitting applications for an entire family may look like an attempt to have them immigrate. All people with tourist visas are considered intending immigrants by USCIS.
Help them understand the strongest ties rule. This is key to success. The letter you want to send is ok but doesnt matter if they cant submit the info required that proves beyond doubt they MUST return.

i have seen cases speed up because of pregnancy. if everything else is alright they wont make her wait at all they believe its better that wife is with her husband during this time.

Can you contact those people and have them explain exactly what took place? .

Assalam o alaikum
Can u kindly tell me how long the nvc took to process your spouse's case? And in how many days they forwarded it to the consulate?
I don't think they will delay granting her a visa. Infact now they should approve her sooner because of her medical condition

My case took 408 days. I hope they don't delay her case but I haven't ever seen one case that didn't go into AP from that country. They don't care about her medical condition.

Please take the time to post the outcome of the interview as it may help others in the future.

Asia: SouthSpouse appears for interview while pregnant

Assalamoalaikum,

I would like to know if Islamabad consulate would delay my spouse's visa if they find out she is 1-3 months pregnant? Would they ask her to give birth in Pakistan and then come for interview again? Or would they let her come to US and give birth here? I am a US Citizen and I filled for CR1. Her case has been approved by USCIS and left NVC. It's sitting in Islamabad consulate for scheduling.

Thanks

It will be interesting to see if they put her into A P because of the possible affect on the timing of the birth of the baby.

Asia: SouthAddress problems: Kathmandu Nepal
Hello and Namaste,

It has been a while since we went through this process, but I remember my husband's Packet 3 got lost in the mail in Kathmandu. Not sure if the process is the same now (probably), but after your NOA2, the petition goes to NVC and they send it on to the US Consulate in KTM. The US Consulate then sends out Packet 3 to the Nepali fiance(e), which contains the forms that the Nepali fiance(e) needs to fill out, including a visa application.

I am the USC (well, we both are now, but then it was me). I followed our timeline and so I knew when the petition left the NVC on its way to Kathmandu. When Packet 3 didn't arrive at my fiance's house within a few weeks, he went to the Consulate and they gave him a new Packet 3. Apparently the first one they sent out to his mailing address got lost in the mail. He even found out it went to his VDC headquarters, but they apparently tossed it. As you know, anything addressed to anywhere other than a GPO post box is at high risk of being lost. Anyhow, when he had finished all the paperwork, he hand-carried it back to the Consulate and they told him to come back the next day for an interview! You will probably not experience that kind of speed, but I don't think the wait is long.

Now that there is online tracking of case status, you may find it easier to figure out when your petition leaves NVC and approximately when you should get Packet 3. Keep in mind that once it leaves NVC, it is under the purvue of the Department of State (another agency that does NOT offer online case status, as far as I know).

My story is just a long way of telling you that you need to track your case as best you can, and may need to pick up and deliver your paperwork at the Consulate in Kathmandu to make sure nothing gets lost.

Good luck and Subhakamana!

I am sorry to hear of your long AP time. I hope it finished up soon for you.
In the mean time, here is a list of countries you can go to without a visa, from Pakistan as of 2012:

Visa Requirements for Pakistani citizens

Either way there will be some lengthy travel time for your wife. It might be best to her health to just stay here and wait. If it has only been 1/4 year since she has seen you that is really only 3 months, which in the scheme of things is not that long. There was a point I did not get to see my husband for a year and a half! I know it can be alot more stressful when you are not feeling so well, just make sure the benefits of the trip will outweigh any negatives to her health.

Best of luck on your visa journey!! :star:

Attach 3 to 5 pictures of you two together with the family. Many people think they need to overload the applicatoin packet with pictures and affidavit of support. Just follow the instructions and keep it simple, less clutter the faster the process. so few pictures with description of the event or location with the people in the pictures.

You can take the letters and additional documentation with you at the time of the interview if they ask for it.

Asia: SouthQuick question

Well at first my husband was going to go on his own but now a change of plans is making me go to Pakistan so I was just wondering since I am going and looking at a possible interview during my stay, if going with him was ok. But ill definatly think about it now.

Thanks

Best thing you can do is review previously asked interview questions. You will be surprised how often peopke will miss undrstand or not know the answer to a question. Specially under this sort of stress... practcally an interview that determins were your life ends up at. Review question come up with questions your husband can be asked thats the best thing to do... when my wife went i had grilled her on questions and before she went told her just to smile and take your good attitude with you. Result was 4 basic general questions and she was confused when she left if it was approved or not. Week later phone call came to pickup passport. So practice questions be honest smile and keep a positive attitude.

I was also in the same predicament at the time, But I opted not to go because there really is no need. If they dont ask you to be pressent there is no reason to be present. Unless you as an individual think it is imparative to be at the interview to possibly clear up some sort of complication or confusion with your case. Its really up to you! but in short to say CAN YOU BE AT THE INTERVIEW? the answer is YES.... but should you be there? I heard of a few horror stories of people who accompanied there spouce/fiance and they were put in AP. I did not go because my case was pretty simple and strait forward.

Asia: SouthBirth certificate

You mother in law will not get any birth cert in Pak, since she born before pakistan born.

You can do following and will work in NVC, I have done for my father. I went to the the office and I told them that my father didnt born in present country and I need a letter stated that no birth cert available for him, since no record available. They print out a letter and stamped on it. Then we got 2 affidavit from people/family like his age saying that we know him and his birth day is xyz.. Just tell true B-day as on education/ ID card has it. This will work 100.

Please read I-130 instarctions... read and read.

Agreed!
Another option go to local union council they will do the same process.
