Asia: SouthPolice Clearance Certificate (PCC) from Commissioners office and from PSK for Indian nationals

Dipikant, I was asked the same question. The PCC doesnt contain the marital status.  I am married but don't have my spouse's name in the passport. I changed it to single at the PSK centre.

But then again this was almost 10 months ago , I dont know if things have changed since then.

Hope it helps.

Asia: SouthPolice Clearance Certificate (PCC) from Commissioners office and from PSK for Indian nationals
Thanks a lot for this write-up and for the link for the form. It really helped me plan my visit better.

I woke up this morning and decided I would follow approach one to get my PCC. The reason I used this approach was because I would not be able track the application status if I went through the police commissioner's office.
Here are the steps I followed
1) Filled the form online and took a print of the ARN generated receipt
2) Went to the Lalbagh PSK at around 9.40 (There is a very neat parking area next to the office for both cars and motorcycles)
3) Got the Walk-in token number and went in.
4) I was out at 11.30 with 2 letters of PCC signed and stamped by the APO( Assistant Passport officer - Nice lady)

I am shocked(rather pleasantly surprised) at the efficiency with which the whole thing was done, no over crowding, no need to know somebody, nothing. All they asked me was for my old passport to verify if the details were correct.
I read somewhere that if your address is the same as on the passport and that the passport was issued in Bangalore, you will get the letter then and there. This is now confirmed true :)

I would highly recommend going through the PSK rather than the police commissioner's office as the cops I have dealt with , in my locality, are a***s !

Hope everyone experiences the same efficiency I did.
All the best !

This question is for applicants at Bangalore Police Commissioner Office.

In the form at
http__ksp.gov.in/download/forms/Verification%20Applicationnew%20eng.pdf
out of the options from 1 to 16, which one did you select for PCC to be shown at Mumbai US Consulate (if asked) ?

Is it
16. Police Clearance Certificate for Indian Citizens ?

Please reply.

Thanks..

Arranged, obviously and Medical.

Medical was confusing, started as being housebound and ended up 99% functional, sort of history now.

I thought only Islamabad dealt with Visa's.

I have never seen a similar case anywhere, this not exactly the easiest Consulate to deal with.

Asia: SouthI-485 part 1 question

Your current status is K-1.

The Alien number is the one that starts with A on your NOA2.  Yes.

Here is the VJ guide : http://www.visajourn...content/k1k3aos

Also, check out the AOS from K-1 visa forum.  Lots of people there going through the same thing.  Good luck!

The portals are simply filters used by the forum software. The filters sort the posts based on the country listed in your profile. So, everyone with Pakistan listed in their settings for their country will have their posts automatically show in the portal for Pakistan, no matter where in the forums they are posted.

If you want to make a post specifically aimed at those for your same consulate, then you need to actually start your topic in the regional forum for your country. Pakistan falls under this regional forum, where I am going to go ahead and move this post to. > http://www.visajourn.../91-asia-south/

There is nothing you can do about it.

Indeed. I think because you will have had to demonstrate a bona fide marriage at the K-1 interview then it's less important for a K-1 AoS to show it, but at the very least you can cobble together some photos and a couple of affidavits even if you have literally nothing else.

It would be especially important to show at least some proof if it's been an extended period of time between receiving the K-1 visa and filing for AoS (this does not seem to apply to the OP's case, however).

That guide is certainly not set in stone, it's a very good idea to do so, and I'd never advise anyone to send in a naked I-485.

You certainly do send in supporting documentation of a bona fide marriage with AoS.

Documents with your and your new husband's name on them, ideally from joint assets or liabilities.

You can send it in if u want, it is not necessary to prove bonafide marriage with AOS. If you are granted an interview, then u bring in the info, otherwise u r in the waived category.

Just be ready for the interview. The US embassy in Islamabad one of toughest US embassies. Prepared all papers for your hardship waiver for upcoming interview. They might asked you to provide these things again.

Oh okay right.  Yeah, my fiance is the beneficiary and we knew she'd never be approved to come to the US for a visit.  So we met in Dubai.  It's so difficult having a relationship between two people - one who is in the US and one who is in Pakistan!

I understand they scrutinize people from Pakistan after 9/11. My tourist visa was denied in 2010 and my then-fiancé could not travel because active military duty off limit come to Indonesia. We finally met in Singapore on 2011.

I'm the beneficiary and my fiancé is a US citizen. I was denied for the tourist visa to USA twice. My fiancé cannot travel that's how we got the hardship waiver

I should say, if it was the reason for hardship waiver, both of you must be lucky! There was a member here got denied for the hardship waiver for medical reasons and denied of tourist visa.

I'm interested in seeing what people have to say about your questions too.

By the way, I'm just curious - how did you qualify for the hardship waiver?  What did you tell them?  I heard those were almost impossible to get!  So, congratulations.

I believe in some (conservative) Muslims countries, bride-to-be and groom-to-be are not allowed to meet before the wedding has taken a place. I also interesting to hear the explanation from the OP though how they could qualified. There were a few stories on VJ about successful of the hardship waiver. Even though USCIS granted the waiver but the real challenge is at the US embassy in Islamabad. They are one of the toughest US embassies. I suspect maybe OP and fiancé(e) is in an arranged marriage.

My husband got his police certificate without any letter from NVC. He just went to the police station with the correct fee and got it. The problem is that the police certificate is only valid for 3 months I think and if you get it too early may expire before your NOA-2 arrives.

yep my husband just went and they made one for him same day. u'll need passport size photo for that or maybe the pakistani ID card. aka shanakhti card. it is valid for 3 months only and from what i've heard from ppl on visajourney is that NVC will accept it for upto 1 yr old. i would suggest that as soon u get ur NOA2, ask ur spouse to mail one to u. that's what i did. i've also told my husband to get another one at the time of the interview just in case

You shouldn't need documentation about yourself or support; you're not trying to get her an immigration visa. The CO was probably not convinced that your mother has sufficient ties to home. What she needs to prove is that she will definitely return home. Home ownership/lease, a job if she's not retired, other family that lives nearby, that sort of thing.
