Let's see... Busy day at work today... Talked to my wife on lunch.. and managed to even complete my I864... Now, just waiting for the job letter, did put in for a request to HR and manager.

Other than that.. still at work, it's snowing so thinking about leaving now to make my normally 1 hour drive not turn into a 2.5 - 3 hr. drive.

Awwwww it must be very painful to have catheter up there. I' m glad he is doing good and good to see you around.

Congrats Sachinky
My day started with a trip to the pediatric urologist for Adi's checkup. He was diagnosed with grade 1 reflux at 2 months, which can give him UTIs. Thankfully all organs and kidneys are normal so its just a matter of time till he outgrows the condition. Poor baby will go for a VCUG (catheter up his weewee) in march to see if he has or not. For now the Dr was happy that he has not had any infection again after the 1 time last year which means good news.

Hey Aya & John, Thank you.

Trinket, are you learning how to drive? Read learners permit and driving is not a big deal. Make sure you have your helmet on while you drive. :P

I am still waiting for that damn Doctor to fill out the immunization form. Can you beleive it? It has been more than a two weeks and the lady said "oh we haven't received report back from the lab." I was about to say Bullshit but then i didn't. I know it is a busy place so just tell me the truth don't give me the lab excuse. I will call back again tomorrow and i hope it is filled soon. After all this I think I should write a complain on that freaking Dr.

My hubby dear is making Bombay biryani right now as i type this. YUMMMMMMMMMM!!

What you girls been upto lately? It is kindda quiet around in this neck of the wood huh?

Just to update on things to you ladies. We had our civil ceremony on 1/8/10 and we are offically hubby and wifey. I haven't forgotten you girls but have been little busy...

We went to see civil surgeon and he stole our $ 200 :P They lady insisted my hubby get his physical and i said no he doesn't because they have the record in POE. I showed them the k-1 where it says we are not required but they still took $ 200. LOL He had some blood work done today, hopefully Dr. will fill the information correctly and i can work on AOS.

What have you guys been upto??

Have a great week and i will play hide and seek with you girls. :D

Ok, now there is another delay. The kazi is not available to sign and is out of town. It seems like all the signatures will not be done until next week. On the plus side Mumbai consulate receieved my letter for extention. It was delivered to them at 11 am India time. It was signed by Mr. Guard laughing.gif

Mr. Guard rofl.gif I wonder how he looks like.

I have whole week off so we went apply for the ss#. They spelled his name wrong and i had to call them back. Make sure you check the paper they give you right there guys. :-) We had to walk for ten minutes but it was worth it.

I am trying to put things together for AOS but i need an appointment with civil surgeon, with the Justice of the peace for our civil ceremony and then go to the town to apply for marriage licence. UFFFFFFF Today was overall a good day. My fiance looked so cute today all bundled up. What do i take for the surgeon? On vj guides they say k-1 don't need another medical but we don't have anything to prove it. They took everything at POE headbonk.gif

Ms_jinga_lala: I love the HHR! I went to Mississippi for work and that was my rental car for 8 weeks! It was white and everyone told me I looked like I was driving in a Storm Trooper! I live up in New Hampshire, so I have to have a 4-wheel drive SUV, but if I didn't that would be top on my list!

Twisted K: I'm here...I'm always around, you know me I don't stray too far! 2 more weeks until your interview...I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

On a different note, my husband came home from work last night and spotted his wrapped presents under the tree! He was like a kid in a candy store. This is his first Christmas and it's like having a 5 year old! He's so funny...he did his shopping for me...taught himself to wrap and was so excited to put the presents under the tree! I debated on whether to wrap his presents now...or wait and put them under the tree last minute because I have visions of him at home (while I'm at work) shaking his presents like crazy!!! It's so much fun to get to now share all the "firsts"

Hey Moksha, answered your question about money transferring.

Thanks Trinket! We have been having such a hard time trying to figure out which International bank/type of account will work for us. There's so many options out there and they don't make a whole lot of sense to us. Right now it's not a huge issue, but I would eventually like to be able to send them money or if she wants to send some be able to have her do that too...especially since the mail in India is not the most reliable!!!

Tarun and I are right there with you guys! We eat mostly indian food and always with our hands! I have become a great Indian cook...thanks in part o my mother-in-law...who would not let me leave India with her only son until I had all of his favorite dishes down to a tee!!!

Now...as for the Hindi language thing...I am on the verge of buying Rosetta Stone, which is so absolutely ridiculous since I have a Hindi speaking husband!!! For some reason though it's hard for him to teach me...or maybe hard for me to learn from him. It's my one New Year's resolution...to learn Hindi before we go back to India next year. I know a fair bit from being there for so long, but not conversational...that's my goal for this year!

I've never, ever heard of anyone applying for a K-1 visa through NVC. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I've NEVER, EVER heard of it.

Since it's you, SachinKy - I recommend this -

partial bridal regalia with shiny salwars, bangles, sindoor

and use 200 percent more bangles than at the actual wedding.

try to borrow as many gold ear-to-nose chains as possible, I recommend at least 4 on each side.

Don't put anything metal IN THE HAIR, though.

Good Luck !!

you've been in India these last 6 months? File a new I-130 via Direct Consular Filing, forget about the prior denials.

Seriously !

File I-130 via DCF on Monday. You have 24 hours to prep all.
(No No, don't ask me any questions - review http://www.visajourney.com/content/dcf and go forth. )

Good Luck!

Thanks for your prompt response, payxibka! When you write "YMMV", I take it you are not certain and that there might be other fees? That is why I am asking for help, so we don;t come up short that day...

You are reading too much into YMMV... while each consulate is different.... the other fees would be possibly a courier delivery fee

She should just explain the situation; COs are familiar with local customs and law, so if it is required where your wife is from to have marriage photos to get a marriage cert and be legally married, the CO will understand. I wouldn't call it "fake marriage" though, that sounds bad... say your legal wedding and a quick blessing was in 2008, and you had your religious wedding more recently.

Thanks for your input, Trinket.

So, I'm thinking my jeans and a black formal shirt will be good enough for the interview.

Will be wearing my wedding ring AND my engagement ring. But no sindoor or bangles since I don't really wear them. I did wear bangles on my wedding day as evidenced by the picture but no sindoor as we just has a civil registration ceremony and reception dinner.

Okay kids,

This thread is for us to share ideas and opinions about what to wear/what you wore to the interview. For both men and women although I am curious as an Indian woman is it necessary to turn up in full bridal regalia with shiny salwars, bangles, sindoor etc or will jeans and a well fitting shirt be appropriate attire?

Please leave your thoughts/suggestions.

Peace and luck!
