Thanks chinky smile.gif laughing.gif i was requested by the mister to get some sleep that night because i work at 5 am, and he would not be able to call me until he gets to the office, or goes home which ever the case may be for that day. office if he has to wait for the next day to pick up the visa, home if by some chance they tell him he could pick it up after 5 on the same day. which they sometimes do biggrin.gif

tongue.gif i thought you told me you were from jamshedpur. my husband got all excited, trying to figure who you were. of course i had to spell out your name, because he always makes fun of me for mispronouncing things tongue.gif

yeah, my mom thought it would be silly of me to send an empty birthday card. my husband gets sent empty cards all the time whistling.gif

trinket, you and my husband are from the same hometown. do you ever send packages or money orders home? i was wondering when he gets here, what is the safest way to send things to his family. i sent his mom and niece birthday cards with cash inside. prayerfully, his mom's got their with cash still inside. still waiting on word about his niece's. so, i will not be doing that again. what do you do?

husband went to turn everything to vfs today. they only took the passport size photo, copy of his passport, and his medical. told him to bring the other documents he had on hand to the interview since they were only photo copies. now i am just worried to see if uscis sent nvc everything, and nvc, in turn sent everything to delhi. this is enough to drive me to the insane asylum wacko.gif

i agree, always wanted to go to egypt. been to india 4 times. time for a change of scenery, lol.
i can't get any of my family members to go to an indian restaraunt, and so i am waiting for my husband to get here so we can go together. imo, hindi is not an easy language to learn if you are not around it constantly. my husband gave me some hindi books, then makes fun of me when i attempt to pronounce it diablo.gif but the movies and music are always fun kicking.gif

trinket, i was going to say maybe that is what i need, to become allergic to sweets, junk food, and all things deep fried tongue.gif

you can always hang out in south asia, aya. there are no strangers here no0pb.gif

My V-day was really nice. On Saturday hubster got me dozen roses, chocolate and my favourite wine. I thought that was sweet enough and wasn't expecting anything else. But on Sunday morning he surprised me with an Asus Notebook :D

We didn't go out anywhere for dinner because of the snow but I did make his favourite South Indian dishes :P Masala dosa and sambhar.

ELW-- Glad your husband got his job back in Cali, would be nice to live together :)
Sachinky-- NVC will be a smooth ride for you guys, you don't have to wait forever for PCC, so you are good to go
Parul-- Welcome to the board and glad to know lil Adi is doing good :)

Hi to all the others!

I have to gush a little. Sooooo my husband who never ever ever goes anywhere alone (even if he has to walk 2 blocks to get cigarettes, he has to take me with him) decided to go alone for grocery shopping today. He thinks he is slik, but I already know what he is up to.

He is up to trying to surprise his wife with some gifts for Valentine's day.........awwww :lub:

Dear fellow-Indians,

Happy Republic Day!

I had a terrific day--the NOA2 arrived! WOOT!

Wohoo congratulations chinky :P

Since you do have your PCC ready, hopefully NVC will be super fast

Congrats sachinky!!

My husband got laid off from his job in October, the only work he could get was in Tampa, Florida - 3,000 miles away from me! :( He's been there since November. However, the business there just got sold to another owner (who is letting all the current employees go) so he's returning on Tuesday back to California. We are so happy we will be together again but he will be jobless so... hard. Hope he finds work soon. :help:

Hope he finds something ELW, Californian economy is really bad right now, have you guys thought about moving to another state?

I had a an eventful yet a sloppy day yesterday, we went to watch "Book of Eli" I enjoyed the action, didn't really care for the storyline. Then we went out for some shopping, then had lunch at an Indian restaurant, then got home, napped, had left over pizza, got heart burn, felt bloated and all of that.......blahhhhhh

I am a busy bee these days, actually checking VJ after god knows how many days. Hopefully I will start driving classes by 1st or 2nd week of Feb, depending upon my work schedule.
trinketFemaleIndia1/21/2010 22:17
Asia: SouthHow was your day today?

hopefully it is better than your biking skills, just sayin

j/k! good luck on your endeavors ;)

I know right  for some reason Joe thinks I would be much safer in a car than a bike. He doesn't drive after a near death accident, so we really need a car to commute. And plus he is tired of my everyday nagging.

I think I should start a thread later this month asking how long it took people to really get hold of driving properly.

Oh and mister has left me alone tonight to party up with his friends. Ok not party up, but he is out with his masonic lodge meeting and I am home alone bored :sigh:

A big big biggggg congratulations to you Third  so you going out with a married man now :o what the world has come to. Hope you have a wonderful life ahead girlie and make some cutsie babies and oh make sure to dominate your husband ;)

I have been pretty busy lately which is a good thing, I hate the cold though. I am hoping to start driving classes once spring comes, wonder if I would be able to commute well enough or not. Yes that's right people, moi is upgrading from bike to car, thanks to one generous being I am married to. I just have to prove my driving skills to that being.

trinket that is wonderful!!! i hope he enjoys amreeka. does he know what state?

He doesn't know yet, but they operate in 3 states, NY, Washington and Florida, so any of the 3. He isn't excited, actually a bit heart broken, he wanted to get Japanese port :P

Oh Starlight, I watched 3 Idiots last night, hella movie girl, enjoyed it thoroughly :D

Moi is very happy today, looks like my lil bro's job is sending him to amreeka; he just finished his 2nd Mate officer training and got a job offer from a shipping company in India (they are going to sponsor his work visa for US), so hopefully once his training period is over he will be coming to amreeka, I can meet up with him more often this way :luv:

We didn't do anything really, watched movie together (Memoirs of a Geisha), I drank wine while Joe drank brandy. We discussed big plans for 2010, reflected back at 2009.

Didn't go to the German restaurant because it was too cold and also decided to be cheap this year, got other big plans to focus on smile.gif. I actually started cooking after midnight, Joe decided to help, by help I mean standing there and opening can of tomato sauce tongue.gif.

I was thinking if others agree to it, we can do something like MENA girls do and be all with you in the chat room at 3rd Jan night (US time)/4th Jan morning(Indian time) to support you and calm your nerves a little twisted smile.gif

All who agree to this please raise your hands tongue.gif

tongue.gif I don't send money, my dad sends me money laughing.gif But about package yes I do send cards by regular post and they get it. I will be sending a big package in a few days (dad ordered 8 non-duality books and I will add in some Belgium chocolates and a snuggie for gramma), but I will send it through either fedex or dhl because I just want to make sure the package reaches them in time or my dad will make me buy another set of the same book.

And Twisted tongue.gif I am not from the same hometown as your husband is, but I did get married at the same town. Your husband is from Jamshedpur (beautiful city and got a whole lot of relatives living there) and I am from Port Blair.

I have sent some money to my brother but they were from western union, I don't really trust Indian postal services with money matter or valuable items.

Gave me a chuckle reading your quote, sachinky (ok what is your other name; sachin is for Sachin Tendulkar I know and I feel uneasy every time I call you sachin tongue.gif)

My husband was the same, he just couldn't grasp the whole process, I was so bummed when we got the NOA-2, I was shouting my lungs out and he was like-- "so what just happened??" headbonk.gif

Is it weird that I did my monkey dance and I was more excited when I got the news of NOA-2 rather than the actual interview approval. I remember when the CO said I am being approved I was like -- ok, whatever, let me just get the hell out of this consulate for now .

I'm the non-USC wife in the picture. Hubby is still trying to understand the process. I lost him while trying to explain the NVC stage.
