No, they will not ask for the CD.
They will ask for the brown sealed envelope though and her full medical Exam should be in there.
They don't really care about the Cd at least I haven't heared of anybody who had to give the cd to the immigration officer.

Kathy, thanks. How I wish this process wasn't so toll-taking... emotionally, physically, mentally, financially. Sigh.

Thanks, Third. It just feels horrible to post such negative things when you see others celebrating and so full of hope. And then at the same time you feel so left out... keep wondering "why me?"

ELW, Nina, Sara, thanks for the support & prayers. I'm trying to find meaningful things to do now to keep myself busy and not drive myself even crazier.

k.loveh, thank you. My congrats to you and your SO.

Starlight, thanks.

You all are so kind. I wish you all happiness and love. God bless.

No idea fixing it. I had said I would but I need to ask myself whether I trust him enough. A man who can change his mind like this now can do anything in future. I just wish he had shared his fears/thoughts with me before making such a huge decision on his own. He didn't even think about me. Forget about asking me, I wasn't even one of the first few people whom he told about his decision. Apparently, he told everyone else before me and then just said to me about his decision even when he knew this decision of his was going to affect me the most after himself. I feel betrayed.

Sara,
It was a perfect match because we felt so and everyone agreed. We did everything together for eight months - laughed, cried, loved and understood each other. We also filed out our I-129F, got NOA1, then after 4 months got our NOA2... then in another two months while waiting eagerly for packet 3 and 4 and sending stuff back to consulate, we found out our interview date was yet another two months away. We got sad but were happy now we had a 60 day count down and then we will be together forever. Yea right!

Two weeks before the interview, he went for medical (passed it), submitted all the docs to VFS the next day and came home and said to me he doesn't want to come to America any more. Our interview would have been two days back but he didn't go to it. He said he didn't feel like coming any more... :'(

I withdrew our file and canceled the petition.

I don't want to ruin other people's day because they have good things happening. It's nice to see couples who stick together... for years. My hands are trembling seeing what is love and what I saw in my life.
ONNNot Telling010/29/2009 12:17
Asia: SouthHow was your day today?
I don't even know where to begin... living one day at a time and realizing each moment the harsh reality of life and the bitter truth that it's over.

Reading stories on VJ about couples waiting and being patient and getting excited about things in life makes me happy. At least they stick to each other in good times and bad compared to some that just give up after making promises and giving false hopes. May be it is all for good, but it just doesn't seem so right now. Life sucks.

Go for CR-1 (rather than shambolically-designed K-3), or even the slightly-more-difficult version DCF.

Is DCF possible anyway if we do not live over there?

Looking back, I would've done what you did. Get married after graduating in May and then filing for AOS. Ah, hindsight is 20/20.

Like I said, I made a stupid decision based on emotion rather logic. And now I'm paying for it dearly.

But I'll try to keep the moaning and whining to a minimum, I promise.

My day was long. But I had delicious spicy dumplings for dinner. smile.gif

Asia: SouthHow was your day today?
Hey Nina,

We did the CR-1 because I wanted him to come to India after graduation and meet my family before we actually tied the knot. It would've felt odd, y'know, to get MARRIED without my parents, cousins, family, friends and family friends not knowing the man I was going to marry (since I'd been in the U.S. for four years and met him in college). I'd already met his parents several times so that wasn't the problem. I just wanted my husband to meet/get to know the other important people in my life who I love just as much as I love him. smile.gif

Other factors such as limited finances, job situation also influenced our decision to a degree. Furthermore, I was told by the U.S. Consulate in Calcutta (who later, I learned, does not even process immigrant visas) that a CR-1 would take 3-4 months at the very most. HA. What a laugh.

I wish USCIS would just hurry up a little. I'm beginning to regret my decision daily.

It's my four month anniversary today and I'm sad. Suffering the consequences of my own stupid choice.

Phone-call records? Chat logs? Cards?

Just thinking out aloud here from my own interview evidence list. Joint bank account. I also have my wedding invitation card. And some congratulations cards addressed to us as a couple. I bought him a card, a Bollywood DVD, (he works in sports so I got him) a basketball and a football keychain, a (manly) "Om" silver necklace, a wooden beaded wristlet and a cute stuffed puppy. Mostly silly, small stuff. I'm rubbish with gifts so mostly I buy him practical things like cute boxers, or mens' colognes. For our 6-month anniversary, I baked him a giant batch of heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies. He ate the entire lot after dinner.

When we exchanged presents last year for Christmas, we realized that we had bought each a copy of The Dark Knight. Had I any idea we'd be getting married, I'd have bought a different DVD since now we're stuck with two!

Sara,

With Administration processing, they are doing his background check. I don't want to offend or anything but I really feel him being from Kashmir + being Muslim and a Doctor is the cause of additional background check.

If you remember a couple of years ago there was a bombing case involving Indian doctor's in England and also one of the doctor was detained in Australia (though he was freed later on). But anyways consulates these days do scrutinize more and more if the beneficiary belongs to technical fields.

Hope this won't be another long wait rose.gif Best wishes

(((hugs))) this does not offend me at all......just they had over two years to do all of that ........kind of makes me wonder what they were using our petition for lol.......well maybe i dont really want to know cuz im sure that they just let it collect dust or used it to even out a uneven leg on a table or something whistling.gif

your right he would have gotten it anyways being he is muslim adding kashmir into the mix just about guarantees it......and i had forgotten about the doctor stuff until u reminded me about it

I am glad that they are responding to you this is a good sign smile.gif. They have everything from you but just doing the administrative processing, so I am sure once they are complete with this their will be good news. I wil continue praying for you Sara. On the other hand I have no respond from the Mumbai Consulate. I called DOS again and they just said additional processing and not administrative processing. They are just pending decision on the documents I submit. I am waiting for the signature and I should have it by next week.

Star

I don't know if one is better then the other. Just taking an educated guess on this. Additional processing is when they are pending additional documents, and administrative processing is when they are doing background check. That is a good question, but still does not explain why they stated do not submit passport on the bottom of his 221g. That would only mean they are doing administrative processing. Completely confused myself now. unsure.gif

on perviz 221g it said submit passport with the additional documents then a week or so later they sent it back to him with a letter stating the case had entered into administrative processing.... blink.gif

I can't even imagine to tell you some of the questions they asked him about me. Its really insane. wacko.gif He got upset when they started asking these nonsense questions about me, but he managed to remain cool. Finally, at the end they managed to say we agree with your relationship and as long as you submit what is required you will be fine. So, that is a good sign. get a notarized statement from your parents and his........included in his should be that they know about ur divorce it seems its going to be an issue with that embassy so better to hit it head on with the statement from his parents..........if you have any phone records of calls together that is more evidence........try to satisfy anything that they could even ask for.........also you urself should call the embassy at once and see if you can get any answers or if they want to interview you since it seems they are asking more from you than is necessary.......what u can do from ur side is what we did with perviz get notarized statement from ur family and also the Islamic divorce decree scan it send it email then send the hard copy to him so that he has it if they want it instead of the scanned copies it allows u to get the required evidences to them faster than sending it three or four days later.........im sorry girl thats all i got i cant think of anything else
