Asia: SouthNeed urgent Help from Pakistani member

Hello,

there is no cheapest way to send anything from Pakistan to US, I would suggest take them with you- it is 80$ per extra luggage, call your airline and ask them, I know it is tough to spend money but this is the better and best way may be airline can also give you discount aswell, but you have to call or may be best is go to their office and talk to them about it, it will help you alot !

Thanks, !

You dont pcc anymore

Not available. Pakistan has no nationwide tracking system in place for criminal activities. Police Character Certificates are available for a fee from District Coordinating Offices. However, they are not an accurate reflection of an individual's criminal record. An applicant who has committed a crime in one district may be able to obtain a clean Character Certificate from that district or another. Given the inaccuracy of these certificates, they are not required for consular processing.

Asia: SouthMothers visit visa refused

but I myself is LPR and my wife and children are USC ,can we a apply for her green card ? Thanks

this happened in our family too...reason? too many kids in the US who were USC or LPR.....i.e read: too many ties to the US. That's what you have to overcome. Our mother had a lot of ties to home but it made no difference....they still denied.

you can apply again in 6 months...but from experience, once a visitor's visa is denied for the reason stated above, its a very difficult hurdle to overcome.

(We solved it by applying for a GC for our mother, so she could come and go as she pleases; keep in mind, you have to spend an aggregate of 6 months in the US to keep GC valid).

The best of luck to you and your mother.

If you signed up with Email as your primary contact then you will find out way faster then snail mail. I hope you are because, its so convienent with email rather then Mail. If its by email you will receive an email from NVC regarding your interview date with all the instructions. If its Mail not sure how long will it take for you to get it because, i didn't experience mine through mail. Good luck!

You can but, most likely they won't be allowed inside the consulate. They will have to wait where they get shuttle services from. They "Do Not" allow anyone who does not have an interview. Due to Security Alert.

If you read your Interview letter which is 7 pages long. It specifically states there the Petitioner is not allowed for interview. So not sure but, you might want to double check on that. Because, you don't want to upset them. Good Luck.

Hello,

My wife's I-130 papers got approved on the 10th of June, and now going to complete the NVC process and I had a question.  My wife's side of the family is not high educated and know a lot of civil matters and going places.  And I was thinking when time comes for medical and interview I will be there with her; since they've never done this sort of immigration process in there lives.

I know it will be ok for me to be there for the medical; but was wondering if I go to the embassy with her and just stay outside while the whole process is being done.

And have there been Pakistani's who've gone to there spouses interviews and what was the result?

Asia: SouthPolice Certificate (Character Certificate) in Pakistan
@ProPaki - I believe that is the official notification from the NVC requesting the Police Certificate.

Everyone has different experiences in Pakistan with obtaining Police Certificates depending on the city you get it from and the jurisdiction. There is no fee in obtaining the certificates...rather its a bribe (as far as i know). But my husband got it from 3 different cities with the following experiences 1. demanded the bribe right upfront to even get the process going, 2. Created issues with everything he submitted hoping he would get something out of it but luckily a family friend was their boss and it was done the very next day, 3. Created issues but luckily a shift change happened and the guy who came afterwards was really nice and approved all the documents my husband submitted without any issues (bc we had everything in order).

So no one can really tell you exactly what will happen, however you do need to fill out a form they give you, submit attested passport copies, attested NIC copies, a witness in the neighborhood who can vouch you live there or more depending on your jurisdiction - some said 1 others 2-3, passport pictures, and the official letter asking for the police certificate for your immigration purpose. I believe that is all according to my memory.

Hope this helps.

Asia: SouthWhere get vaccines in Faisalabad/Lahore area?

Hi VJ members,

Has anyone been able to find a doctor in the Gojra/Faisalabad/Lahore area that actually carries the TdaP and Varicella vaccines?  My fiance went to his medical in Lahore and was told he didn't need any shots (he's never had any).  I'm assuming this was bcz he's on a K-1 so technically he doesn't need them until he gets here, but are frustrated because we still wanted them done due to the huge price difference between Pakistan and USA. He went back to the same place (Wilcare in Lahore) to get the shots and even though they have the shots listed on their website and told us they had them, they only had the Polio and MMR vaccines available once he actually got there.  We've been calling around trying to find a doctor that carries those vaccines with no luck.  If you've had your medical done recently and were able to get the TdaP and Varicella shots could you please reply with the name of the doctor and the city?

Thanks for any help you can give us.

I know of someone who had a similar issue late last year.  He had to go to the Union Council, show his Nadra Card, Nadra Bey Form and his school record showing his father's name on the paper.  He gave some money and got the card 2 days later.

You have to send them request for change of embassy and after change they issue new case number.I have gone through this process. We too have same (pashtoon) background and ofcourse same religion.
One of my friend who also came for London for visa process got approved on interview day. Yours and his case indicates good signs to me. The rest Allah knows what is going to happen.

I'm not sure why we never got a new case number.  They just added some digits onto the end of your original LND case number.  InshaAllah you will be approved quickly.

Thanks a lot for a detailed reply. To add few things, my situation is the same as your fiance,s. I have come back to pak. My I-130 was approved while I was in London but for Nvc process I thought pakistan is better option because a UK visa can get expired during the nvc process and re. Apply takes time. I have also changed US embassy from London to islamabad and nvc has issued me a new case number started from islxxxxxxx. I hope they send my case to islamabad not to London...

Yes,  it sounds like your situation is very similar to ours.  If your case number starts with ISL then it should go to Pakistan.  They sent ours to London and we had to get it transferred which took a while to go through.  They never gave us a new number.  Our case started with LND the whole way through the process.  Hopefully you will get approved as quickly as we did.  Other things that I think helped expedite our case is that were were both of the same religion and we had pics together with his family.

Good luck!

Asia: Southdoes my "abroad living history" have some good impact on visa approval!!!!!

Unfortunately nothing helps you avoid AP, especially being from a high risk country.  That being said, I do think it helped my husband (fiance at the time) get his visa quicker, although I have no proof of that.  We filed for a k-1 visa while he was in the UK.  His visa was expiring there so he went back to Pakistan to interview.  I do believe the fact that he went back helped a lot.  It showed that he wasn't just trying to leave the Pakistan bcz he could have just overstayed in the UK or gotten married there and adjusted status.  As it turned out his AP was only for a few days before his visa was issued.  On the reverse,  it may make it harder for you to prove your case if your visa is expiring or you are out of status in the UK and are trying to go to the US. They may think you are just trying to avoid going back to Pakistan.  In the end, all you can do is be completely honest and sincere at the interview and see what happens. Plan on AP taking anywhere from days to years.  On a side note, it's best not to travel while you are in AP so make sure you'll be able to stay in the UK for an extended period of time.  I am not well versed in this area, but have read that many times on this site.  Maybe there is a more senior member that can speak to that part of things and correct me if I am wrong?

Good luck with your journey!

NICOP (English ID) is required in some cases depending on if the USCIS asks for it or may be at some cases if you have a work visa. NICOP is specific to the country in which you will be residing for e.g if you are going to be residing in the US then it will be mentioned in the NICOP

They called me on 11-June and said "send us your passport as soon as possible so that we can issue you visa, also send us fresh medical, and visa photographs and fill the DS-160 form online as early as you can".
I was in Abu-Dhabi and Karachi Airport condition was critical. That's why I reached Karachi on 1-Jul. and sent passport and visa photographs on 1-July and Medical takes time that's why I sent it later on 9-Jul. And I already filled and submitted DS-160 form online in June (when I was in abu-dhabi).
Now after 6-June they updated the status date of my case again in 18-July. Means they have received my all documents.
Now I am waiting for their next action. As they already confirmed me in 11-June about issuing visa.
Fingers crossed

It is 5-May-2014 (more than a year) today and they didn't ask for medical again.

FYI

Thank you for your email.

As per our available record, Mr.    ?s visa case is still part of an integral administrative processing, that can neither be waived nor expedited. Though, we certainly understand the importance of family reunion, and also aware about the frustration often caused by the delay.

Unfortunately, we are unable to predict the amount of time this process will require. However, it is imperative to mention that as soon as this process is concluded, we will move forward regarding this case, and will make contact accordingly.

Sincerely,

IV Unit, Consular Section,
