Guys, my case is with NVC and its been like 2 weeks, will they email me and my wife the interview date or will they just send me the letter via post. However, by your conversations I'm assuming that they will email as well. Also, I'm in Karachi, where do you guys recommend to get the medical from, how's Midcity Hospital?

Dear Imran, in NVC web there is a doc dr. javeD in midciti so you can go ahead no worries as far as the doc is recommended by NVC.

I have my interview on August 29, and I did my medical just yesterday from hill park hospitals, vaccination and everything has been done so you dont need to worry just keep the letter in email with you, three copies of passport and two pics thats it.

Agha khan was also not busy you can go there as well.

who told you that befoew 25 days its pointless, the medical is valid for 6 months to 1 years after my confirmation from doctor.

Go ahead man.

2 months and 2 days after interview no visa yet :(

I wish we could GET to AP. Our petition has been sitting there for over 4 months and they have not contacted my fiance' yet. They advised us to get medical finished, which we did. I emailed them again and they said they will contact them when they are ready to set his interview. Is there anything else I can do? My case got there at the same time as others and they have already been approved and we are still waiting for an interview. I have been very patient, but after 4 months of no contact I am gettin worried. At least they can send him the packet, right? Anyways, good luck to you dear. I hope your wait is over soon! :)We are going through Kabul too.

HELP! Should I contact my Senator?

My K-1 visa case is in Kabul. My petition has been sitting there for almost 5 months without my fiance being contacted or an interview being scheduled. The Embassy advised me to tell my fiance to compelte his medical, so he did. I emailed the Embassy to let them know that his medical was completed and when should he expect to hear from them. They told me that there is a backlog and that they will contact him when they are ready. This was nearly a month ago. Another visa journey member advised me to contact my senator because 4 months is too long for Kabul. Considering theirs only took one month. I have emailed the Embassy again, but now they will not respond. I feel like I have been very patient, and now after our case sitting there for nearly 5 months I feel I need to do something. The other visajourney member brought up a good point.... The Embassy had advised us to get medical done, but what if it expires before getting the visa issued? So then my fiance has to go through that again and pay the fee? Lastly, being that my case is already in Kabul, could my Senator still help and if not what should I do? I am trying to stay optimistic and hopeful. I just miss him teribbly. I haven't seen him in 16 months. Thanks in advance for all your help.

P.S.- Not that this would speed my case along, but I am in the U.S. Army and I was deployed in Afghanistan in 2010 and 2011. I have pictures with my fiance and ample phone records. I also believe I have sufficent financial support for him. So, I am not understanding why there is such a delay. I read on their website that when we become qualified then they will contact us. There must be something delaying our case considering other cases arrived the same month as ours and they have already received their interview and approvals. I have asked the Embassy if we are missing any paperwork, but they never answered clearly and now they wont respond.

Hi VJ members. I need someone to help me as much as possible. I cannot afford an attorney. Here is how my case .
I got married by proxy (did Nikaah on phone) in October 2011.
Husband was physically present in Pakistan but I was here in the U.S.A.
Filed I-130 petition in November 2011.
Went to Pakistan and had the wedding ceremony in February 2012.
From Feb 2012 to May 2012 I lived with my husband.
In May 2012 I got RFEletter from USCIS saying that I was not present in the wedding in Pakistan which was on October 2011 and to send in proof of my trip during that time. I submitted photos & copies of my passport pages & ticket showing the trip in February 2012. I wrote letter explaining the Nikaah on phone and going later in February to get married,
In July 2012, I got denied letter from USCIS.

I am going to re-file but how should I re-file?

Should I re-file with the same marriage certificate with the date of October 2011 even though I wasnt present in Pakistan, or should I make a new marriage certificate with the date of February 2012 where I was with my husband?

Will USCIS accept my petition if I re-file?

What evidence should I send with my petition?

How can I make my petition case strong to get approved?

Please help me as best as you can with much info and as soon as possible. Thanks and may god bless you.

Hijab is not a problem. My wife wears Hijab and they didn't give her any hard time, they were very cordial with him. It would probably be nice since you are already there.

Just to make sure you are allowed, send a email to DhakaIV@state.gov and inquire about your case. Mention the Your Husband's name and case number in the subject and say you want to attend and if it is allowed.

In sha Allah it will be easy.

Greencard holder filing for son

Hello. I wanted to know what the process is for a permanent resident (green card holder) filing for son over 21 unmarried. Does the person fill out I-130? Also does the green card holder have to remain certain amount of time in the United States for the case to move forward. Because the green card holder is planning on going back and forth within the given one year limit for a green card holder. Can someone advise if they have experience with this.

We need your help please guide.

My interview is on 27 August in US Embassy Islamabad.

We lived together in Dubai from April 2010 to June 2010 2 months

We are living in Pakistan since June 2010 till now 2years

Married in July 2011 1 year now

1. She did not go back since when she came. We have an affidavit of sport from one of her friend and it approved by NVC. She got separated on the date she came to me in Dubai. After one year we applied for divorce and got it on 19th July 2011, Married on 21 July 2011.
I paid for her divorce fee and every thing while she was living with me and she lived with me before getting divorce. Is it negative too if Co ask any question. That who paid for divorce? And why we lived together before divorce?

2:-Does my wife (petitioner) need an appointment to appear with me in embassy on interview?

3:- does she need to show some thing that we are making arrangements to live there. Job or some thing? The friend gave us Affidavit of sport she sent a Notarized letter to NVC that we can live with her at her place. She is sending us one too same kind. ? What else they want from people who are living outside of USA.

4:- Our age difference is 11 years, she is 40. I am 29 how much it will affect our interview?
She was married twice before me and has 4 kids ages 20,19,18,17 now.
I was never married. What question they can ask.

5:-The first ticket on which she came, she sent me 600$ by western union and I paid some and she got her return ticket. But she never went back using that ticket. Is it wrong that ticket was not issued where she was living?

To pay for her air ticket is a negative thing? If they ask any question who paid for ticket.

7:-While she was in Pakistan she applied for divorcé, I paid fee to her lawyer, Is it wrong too?
8:- She covers her head by herself. I never forced her to do any thing .I love her for what she is .no matter to me she is Christian or Muslim. Muslim can marry a Christian woman, so no worries for me.

To be with me after getting separated is it wrong too? If they ask why she came to me to get separated?

She was not divorced at that time, she wanted to be separated but he did not in the beginning.
She tried to be separated from her husband and he never let her to be separated. His behavior was really bad with her. He never worked never earned any thing in the period of 6 years marriage. She paid for bills, food rent every thing. He was not on disability or any thing. He was just using her for money. She was working as much as she could. He just drunk and threatened for Alimony. When ever she tried to ask him leave from her place he never did. Then he said once that leave every thing that is here in house, TV, laptop washing microwave freezer AC I mean whole house and last checks then he will let her go. He loved money and what she earned then dropped her on airport and she came to me in Dubai and we waited till she was divorced and got married. I mean she was really treated badly and she could not do it .police can not do any thing because it was kind of personal.

The problem is that my wife (us citizen is sick) i wanted to have medical earlear so i can request them for early interview.Thats why i wanted it early .I dont know what to do.She have big cysts on overies and she mostly is in big pain.

I've visited citizen services many times and the ladies there have been great help to me with questions I had and they said it shouldn't be a problem if I wanted to go with him since his appointment is very early in the morning (7:50am). I've been trying to read other peoples experience so I know what's a head of us. My husband is hopeful it won't be too long since the last thing the CO said was " We'll call you in a few days so you can pick up your passport with visa on it" Let's how long these "few days" actually are.

Thanks so much and knowing that your AP was for such a short time makes me feel better. Yup! it is very common that's why we went ready for it. I was waiting with a few other USC wives who I think took it harder than I did. I just hope it's not too long. The CO told him he should get a call in a few days. So that gives me hope it won't be too long.

My husband has his interview at the U.S. Embassy tomorrow in Dhaka. I'm planning to attend with him. I emailed the embassy and they said it was fine so I printed out that email and have my passport ready. We made a shadow file of all the paperwork that we sent to USCIS and NVC.

1)Copies of birth and marriage certificate.
2)Copies of the Nikah in English and Bangla.
3)Copies of AOS with 3 years of tax return from both me and my dad (co-sponsor)
4) more than 500 pics
5) my wedding invite
6) copies of out fb convo from b4 and after the wedding. I used phone cards to call him so I don't have phone logs
7) Copy of PCC

My husband was in London for a few years doing his LLB we didn't send in his PCC from UK to NVC but we have it now so should we mention it to them or show it if they ask? I was thinking to mention it to them to show that he was a good citizen in another country as well. Is there anything I'm missing and any last min advise for us? I was really freaking out about AP a few weeks ago but I feel more confident now but mentally ready if it doesn't go the way we're praying for.
