Do we just wait in line OR do we go to the security person & show them our letter?

You get in the line and when you reach the bloke with the clipboard have your letter and passport ready he will check your name then move you along.
Have a nice flight over to the uk and dont worry about things you will be fine.

United KingdomLondon Interviews 2006 (NEW)

Hi everybody,

My husband had his interview in London this morning, and could you please update me on the list to.........APPROVED!!!!! Wow I've been waiting a year to say that!!

I am so relieved/happy/exhausted....and I wasn't even at the interview! :D I've been awake nearly all night, though, worrying.....

My husband said he was in and out of the embassy in London within 2 hours. They didn't ask him ANY questions at all, just took his documents and then called him up again for fingerprints and told him he was approved!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone on VJ , you have been so helpful to me over the past year....I don't know how I would have known half of what I do without this site. It really is appreciated.

I am reunited with my hubby in exactly one week! Im so happy.

Congratulations Alana, feels good dont it to know its all done with

My husband's visa was approved today. We were there for 3 1/2 hours, and the interview lasted about 90 seconds. I was so relieved when it was over I promptly bursed into tears. Good luck to everyone else this week.

I am so pleased that you got approved and that your family will be back together again.
I see that all 4 of us that were up there today got approved (gotta luv london aint ya?)

The IV-15 is the one that tells the embassy that you are ready for your interview and that you have the I-134 ready etc.
I sent back my pack 3 including the IV-15 before I had the medical as the wait for interviews at london can take a while to come through.

Good luck

United KingdomWhere are you from?
I work in a bank in a city here in up state NY and even though we are right near an old airforce base (which had loads of brits in and out of it once upon a time) I still get asked if I am from South Africia/Australia/South Carolina (yeah right how do ya work that one out). the next question is Have you ever meet the Queen (yep every sunday for tea is what I used to say) and one old bloke asked me what Jellied eels were like (I told him they were minging but my nan luvs em) devil.gif , I guess you can take a girl out of london/essex but never london/essex out of the girl.
It gets easier after 2 years and now my mum has a bit of trouble asking me to repete myself every so often (hmmm I guess living in a village that has woodchuck mentality is finaly getting to me)

United KingdomFunny misconecptions from your country or state!
When my friends and family got told I was moving to New York they all assumed NYC (because thats all NY is isnt it?), when I told them that NYS
was as big as England they asked if I could see Lady Liberty from the garden, after I had explained about Up State NY and all its wonderful things (we live closer to Canada than NYC)I was then asked "oh do they speak American there too" DIMLOW...... On the other hand though I have been asked if they speak English in London or is cockney from another country and also if its true that you can walk from England to France oh and all the British are rich as we all have nanny's lol (this one had me in fits as I was saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my nanny is my mums mum)

Russia, Ukraine and Belarusex-husband's permission for child to leave the country?
Even though I have full custody of my son his father has parental responsability (yeah right aint that supposed to mean he pays child support hahaha), since I had court papers showing I had full custody I did draw up a permission to leave document for my Ex to sign (which he did after a talk with our son) just incase it was needed.
Me saying I wanted childsupport and more access for my son to see his dad seemed to do the trick and he signed as he didnt want any more finacial burden (new family/home etc he has with his fiance)

It was one of the first things that the embassy asked for when I was handing over my sons stuff at our interview.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresApproved

Just an update that my husband's visa was approved on February 6. We filed our original I-130 in late August, our K-3 papework in September, and got our approval in early February. I know people who have taken a bit longer, and others who have taken a little less time, and I know of one person who was pretty much spot on the exact length of time as me. Good luck to everyone waiting, and to those just starting their K-3 journey. :luv:

I know how you feel we were approved quick too and now it seems like such an anticlimax.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 spouse with Child
I have just recieved mine and my sons K3/K4 visas and the child rides along on your I129f application but you will have to file a I-130 for them.

When you go for the interview just make sure that you have all the things that you say you have (especially the permission to leave declaration for the child).
Im not sure about canada but here in england if the child is under 14 they have the same medical as the adult just without the exray and bloodtests.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow to fill out I-129F
Hello there

When my husband (USC) sent of our I-129f he sent a certified copy of our marriage certificate (we got extra copies off of the town clerk when we got our original certificate so that they have the stamp on them), he also sent a copy of his birth cetificate I am pretty sure they only want the USC stuff as that is all we sent and we got no RFE in either or I-130 or I-129f.

I am not sure about Question 11 but I think my husband ticked it saying he hadnt applied before (but dont take my word for it, someone else will be able to tell you this).

Sorry if I have not been much help, but I am sure someone will correct me where I have gone wrong

Hello there, welcome to VJ you will find a wealth of information on this site and the people are so helpful, I know I found the process hard but being amongst people going through the same thing that can answer my questions and also make me laugh at the same time certainly made the time I waited so much better.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat to wear for interview
I would suggest being smart but casual I wore suit trousers and blouse but I had to go somewhere after so I had to be smart.
But hey this is london and anything goes just wear what you feel comfy in dont overdo the make up and remember SMILE loads.
And yep it is cold in London (very windy which is how you can tell a true londoner cos we all walk at a slant  )

Good luck

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresImmigration/Travel questions
I visited my husband in the US last summer with my son, just make sure you take loads of stuff saying that you have ties back home eg letter from employer saying you have to be back at work on ?? date, rental or mortgage agreement etc.
Be honest with them if they ask you what you are doing there I told them I was visiting my husband and they let me in.
But all POE are different and some people here have been denied entry.

Good luck

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 Approved, Now What?????
Once the I-130 is approved it still has to go through a process at the NVC this can take quite some time, you might find that your I-129f has been appoved soon.
The I-129f only stays at the NVC for a little while before it is sent to the embassy for the processing and the sending of your pack 3 which contains your medical exam directions and forms to fill in.
Your wife cannot go to the states to live just because she has an approved visa she has to have a medical and a interview.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresmedical records
Just have them all redone at your local GP's office thats what I did and so did many others on this site.
Go to the GP with a list of the jabs that you require and they will do them, if you wait to have them done at Knightsbridge you will be charged for them atleast at the GP's they are free or alot cheaper that waiting till ya medical.
When you have had them done ask your doctor for a vaccination report (mine is a international vaccine record card)
Good luck
