Oh, don't get me started on things she's sent to him or things that mysteriously dissapear in the house that she leaves down there for her comfort...(i.e. microwave, portable A/C, toaster oven, shoes, purses, soaps, shampoo) if I kept typing I would run out of space. He's a nice guy, but my vibes is just not taking him. AINT THAT MUCH LUVING IN THE WORLD (even if you can jump ROPE with it).

You are too funny! But a quick question?

Airpak has a visa tracking icon.....but it doesn't work on my end......is there any other way possible to track a visa once it has been approved.......Just pulling at straws........Wishing Andrew would have received it today........

Good Morning All,

I bought my plane ticket yesterday to MoBay.......Roundtrip from Charleston, WV to MBJ was $431.00 that's including taxes and fees......Which is a good price to fly into here......

Our interview is next Tuesday at 9am........I am flying in on Sunday and returning on Wednesday, 4/16......

Andrew is getting very emotional right now.......As the time is getting closer, he is telling more of his friends that he will be leaving soon.......And he is realizing that he is beginning to start a new life here with me and my son.......His friends are extremely happy for him but at the same time really hates to see him leave......

My prayers go out to each and every one of you......God is good!........

I don't talk alot in here......but 3 years ago my 18 yo son was killed in a car wreck.......He was my first born........We have been in the court system over this wreck for the last 2 years......One of our cases was ruled against by the circuit judge.......We have asked the Supreme Court of WV to hear our case......They voted 3-2 to put it on the calendar......Last week, we went before the Supreme Court and they voted 4-1 to hear our case........I was up at 1am on Tuesday morning last week, praying to the Good Lord.........It is not a easy task to get a case heard in front of our Supreme Court......On Thursday morning, I got the call.......4-1 to hear our case!.........GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!

Peace & Love,

Gill

Mommy2B is one I think!!! unsure.gif

Mommy2B is a lawyer - I am a paralegal, and you should all know that we do most of the work! tongue.gif whistling.gif

That is why there is so much success with immigration because of all the legal advice and counsel we all get from the experts laughing.gif laughing.gif

Most yardies do their own filing too.

Yup...I noticed that! Good to know about M2B and Susie...now like Yardie said we need an NVC officer and a U.S. Ambassador...perferably the Jamaican one! laughing.gif laughing.gif I recently made a donation to the Obama campaign and asked them to keep me in mind for the US Ambassador to Jamaica when he gets elected! It's all about WHO you know! wink.gif

Yuh cyan laugh now Clairey...but when mi git hit...yuh nah guh call mi han check hout mi new digs! I'm sorry, but I think anyone on this thread is more qualified to be US Ambass to Ja then the woman that currently is...

Brenda LaGrange Johnson
Brenda LaGrange Johnson of Connecticut and New York, business executive and philanthropist, is the new U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica. She was a partner since 1977 with BrenMer Industries, importing and marketing consumer products.

Ambassador Johnson is on the Duke University Advisory Board of the Nasher Art Museum. She was a founding member, President, and Chairman of the Women’s Board of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club and continues her affiliation with the Club as a trustee. In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed her to the President’s Advisory Council to the Arts (PACA) for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and in 2004, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Johnson has been a member of the Woodrow Wilson Council since 1999. She also served on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society and the National Institutes of Health National Cancer Advisory Board.

She is a member of the National Finance Advisory Council for the George and Barbara Bush Endowment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She is married to J. Howard Johnson and has four children and four grandchildren.

Like I said...it's all about WHO you know!!! (She probably HATES Jamaica and wanted Fiji or UK instead! tongue_ss.gif tongue.gif )

Oh, hell no. And my grandmother would always tell me to check out his bedsheets to see how clean they are. I can't stand a NASTY unkempt man. Like some men think it's okay to use their woman's toothbrush...I will kick your A$$ and don't use my TOWEL.

Since we on the subject, kitchens. Some men (not all) like to cook, but refuse to clean the kitchen. When I cook and clean the kitchen at the same time. And if you're going to clean the kitchen sweep the damn floor or wipe it if it needs to be wiped. The floor is party of the kitchen and it needs to be clean too.

Next thing...you have got to separate your laundry. Don't put the entire basket of clothing into the machine OMG plus towels and bedsheets the machine will be unbalanced when it spin and the clothes won't was good. I mean u use to wash it by hand so wah you a complain fah now. mad.gif

Hey All...

I haven't been on here much lately.....getting ready for the interview next week but wanted u all to know Dave did have his medical on 3/18 as planned. I PM'ed some of u about him still needing a couple of the immunizations for the interview and it seems like it worked itself out. (THANKS to JG, Gill and JaLove for the info.) smile.gif

A lot of places are closed down in JA today and monday cause of the holidays but I spoke with the NVC and the R.N. at Andrews memorial who said Dave can just take the "proof" that he got the shots straight to the Interview and we should be fine.

Thanks for all your advice and words of encouragement. I still got about 30 pages of posts to read before i can catch up on what u all been talking about these last few days ( LOL) but i'll keep everyone posted about my case.

Have a good weekend!

Happy Easter To All & Good Afternoon,

Could you tell me how much it cost you with the shots and medical.....I am prepared for about $300 but just checking?

Thanks,
Tonya

Hey Tonya,

My cousin had to pay $200 U.S. Some of the shots he didn't need, but the nurse told him hit would have been a lot expensive if he had gotten it at a clinic before he came for the medical. Does your hubby have any of his shot records or immunization card?

No he doesn't have any records.......I know that he had to have some shots to attend school......so hopefully he will just need a couple.....he is going to Dr. Banbury

Good Morning,

Andrew went and had shots yesterday. I don't know where exactly he went but a friend of his who was denied because of ganga told him it would be cheaper this way. He took a oral dose and 3 other shots. The nurse told him that he would need to follow up in the US. It cost him $120 US and his medical today at Dr. Banbury should be $80-85US.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning Yardie Sistas!!!!! offtopic45vn.gif

I read in the one of the JA newspapers yesterday about two little bwoy pickneys that got on a bus after school heading to MoBay.

They made it to MoBay and got off near the airport. These little bwoy pickneys are 6 & 7. They followed the sounds of the planes and walked in that direction.

After finding Dead End, the climbed over a cement wall and other obstacles and made it to the runway.

The wind from the planes taking off had knocked them to the tarmack twice before the airport authorities got to them.

They told the authorities that they.......GET THIS.....wanted to travel abroad.

Shame on those little pickneys....... devil.gif

Good Afternoon Tam......Well today the NVC showed they received the I-864 packet.....however still no Choice of Agent.....so I had had enough waiting......I made him an email acct in yahoo and sent them an email with the Choice of Agent listing me as did his papers he sent......I got a notification back from them within an hour stating they received my email and it will be put in order it was received before I would receive an answer......I also asked her about him going ahead and getting his police certificate.....and she said he could go ahead and apply for it.......so things are getting closer.....Smiles.....would love a December interview but plane tickets are just so expensive.....so January is looking alot better.....

Great, I am so happy to hear that. I must warn u, it seems to be taking them at least 2 weeks to get to the emails, so hopefully the last one you sent will do the trick. Yeah, the tickets are really expensive in December, especially the week before Christmas. Last year, I was lucky, I think I got a ticket from Florida for about $300+ for the 23rd. January would be a much better time. Can't wait to hear all the good news yes.gif

jest.gif Great news this morning!!! I called the NVC this morning....and they had updated their system stating now that they have received the Choice of Agent......I could just jump for joy.......They received I-864 on 9/6 and hopefully things will keep moving on right now......Gonna tell Drew today that he needs to start working on his police certificate.......

Hey Tam.....I just called NVC for the 2nd time today.....I call once in the am and once in the pm......and no luck still yet today.....She told me that once they receive it in the mail, it would take 5-10 days to show in their system.....So who knows.....I just keep hopin and prayin......And sending back all the documents I need to send them as soon as I get them......In the next few days, I am going to send Drew a packet of information including pics, emails, phone records, etc.......Just so he will be prepared for the interview when that time comes.....I am hoping to be able to attend the interview with him but I have to deal with one day at a time....My 18yo son was killed two years in an auto accident and I have court proceedings to attend....but not a definite date on them yet......So hopefully, things will all work out and I will be able to attend and make it a little easier on him......

I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences; though it's been 2 years I know that it must still be so hard for you. I hope all will be well with the court proceedings.

With this process, 1 day at a time is the best option. I pray that they will get the form soon so that the process can start moving.

Thank you and hugs to ya........But like I said.....we are taking it day by day......

Tonya,

The police certificate was needed upfront by the NVC before my case was completed. I am assuming your fiance is from Jamaica too. The difference is I am filing for a spouse visa(IR1/CR1 visa). From what I have read I don't think you need this police certificate. You should take a look at the regional discussion under Latin America, Mexico & the Caribbean. From here there is a thread title "Yardies at home". About 60-70% of the members on that thread have filed for a K-1 visa. When I first join this site I assume that there were no difference in the process if your fiance/spouse was from the same country. This is not true. There are a lot of difference in what is needed upfront and how the interview is actually scheduled. It changes base on the type of visa being filed for and the country in which the spouse/fiance is from. Understanding this will save you so much time and confusion.

For example...Me or my spouse never received any communication from the Kingston Embassy. The interview letter came from the NVC. There was only on package. Our Interview is Sep 27....24 days away kicking.gif kicking.gif For the fiance visa from what I have read is scheduled directly by the embassy and you get a pakcage 3 and package. Let me know have any other questions.

Jenice

Hey Jenice.....We are filing for a CR1.....we were married 3/17 in Ochi......thanks

Tonya, are you doing K-1 or IR-1/CR-1? just curious... unsure.gif

Hey....We are filing an IR-1.....I talked to NVC today and they still haven't received Andrew's DS-3032.....So hopefully he can sign on this evening and send them a follow up email....NVC said today that they actually schedule the interview for Kingston.....and next week they will be scheduling appointments for October......I only hope they receive his Choice of Agent form soon so maybe he can make it by the November scheduling.....That would be lovely since is birthday is Nov.16.....smiles....

Africa: Sub-SaharanAFRICAN BROTHER!!!!
Thank you to all of you for your answers, I really appreciate them. I will try to answer all your questions.

Charles! thank you, sorry if I posted in the wrong thread, yes I know I will have to file the waivers I-601 and I-212 because I overstay and were deported from the US, I know that's my only legal way back in the US with my family.

Canadian_wife thank you, you are absolutely right, my case goes well beyond the knowledge of a laymen, my family in the US have retain Mr. Whitehill of Fox Rothschild, LLP law firm as my attorney, been through so many attorneys in eleven years of this ordeal that I'm really skeptical, because where I am now because of attorney. I hear and chat with Laurel Scott a few years ago, when my family contacted her after my deportation, she was not accepting new client. I'm also a member of immigrate2us.net, nice people there like here on VJ. I just started the NVC processing, luckyly last year USCIS approve our I-130 after an interview. A visa interview will be giving to me in Cameroon, and I know at that point they will deny me a visa for overstay (Inadmissable) and hopefully they will tell me that I'm eligible for a waiver. My wife will come to go to the interview with me and she will come with the waiver package prepared by my attorney for me to turn it in after the visa denial. Again thank you Canadian_wife.

Vanessa&Tony thank you, yeas I have an attorney.

Krikit thank you, I thought this was the right thread to post this, I will also be using the Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g) thread for information that could help me.

NigeriaorBust thank you, yes my friend WOW. I'm using any help I can get does not matter where it comes from, forums have been very good to me in the sense that I'm learning a lot, meeting and talking to very nice people who helps me through this ordeal specially emotionally. My family as invested already in a lawyer, and hopefully he could get me back to the US with my family. I will try to chat with Marc Ellis and just get his opinion about my situation. Again thank you my friend.

Please do not hesitate to ask me if you have any questions or concerns about my case.
Thank you again everybody.
Sincerely,

Africa: Sub-SaharanAFRICAN BROTHER!!!!
Hello everybody,
I first want to say thank you to God for giving us an incredible opportunity to be on this site. I have been on this site for a few years on and off, honestly I never knew that an Africa: Sub-Saharan exited. However I found it and read through all the posts and decide that I will introduce myself. After my reading I'm convince that this forum is full of nice people and I truly believe in my heart that those people can make easy for me as I go thru this ordeal. Please allow me to join your fraternity as I work on getting reunited with my family. Even thought I have a lawyer, I trust that I will find valuable information on here to help my case. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have to understand my history better.

Africa: Sub-SaharanI-212 AND I-601 IN YAOUNDE, CAMEROON!!!!
I will be filling an I-212 and I-601 in my home consulate of Yaoundé-Cameroon. I have hear so many stories but it does not hurt to ask questions when you do know, we are all learning each day throughout this immigration procedure. I precept that they will work on my waiver in Accra, Ghana am I right? As anyone else going or has been through this process and would not mind share their experiences with me or us? Is possible for my waiver to be work on in my home country (Yaoundé-Cameroon) without sending it to the CIS office that has jurisdiction over my country (Accra, Ghana)? Have anyone ever saw a waiver approve at the time of the visa interview?
Any insights will be greatly appreciated.
I truly believe that with and through God anything is possible. I also firmly believe in the power of prayers
God bless all of you.
With Love,

Africa: Sub-SaharanI-601 Waiver of Inadmissibility!!!!
Today is my 30 days out of the 180 days time frame for adjudication of my waiver. So the earliest I could hear something is today. What’s really going on at the DHS/USCIS office in Accra, Ghana? The last decision I can recall from that office was an approval on December 22nd, 2010. Eight months later nothing has been hear from that office. But yet they tell the elected official that they are backlogged because they are short in staff, backlogged for eight months?…”DOES NOT MAKE MUCH SENSE TO ME”
