Thankyou for the offer Margy at the moment we aren't going to send any letters, but if we have problems I may well take you up on your offer. I wasn't at work yesterday if you still need Harry Potter let me know and I'll happily get one today if we still have them
[/quote

Yes please pick one up if they still have one, John and I have both been in work so have not had a chance to get one. David has all the books and will be so upset if he can't get one, and it will be my fault:(

Thanks Rosie:)

Use me for one, we have pics and we did talk before your wedding and met at mine a few weeks later. We used our local bobby as he has known us from the beginning, purely friends ofcourse! Just put together as much rubbish as you can, I sent in letters addressed to us separately as well as together. Documents showing your the beneficiary of any 410K and/or insurance policies. Once you start collecting you will be surprised at how much you will gather.

Rosie!!!! Get me the copy of the new harry potter or David will kill me!!!!

Thank you

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionThis is a serious question.....to all waiting
I did not realise until I was approved just how relieved I would be. To be able to forget about immigration for the next 10 years is great!! I will be applying for citizenship, but that is my choice, otherwise I could just sit back and not worry about what I have to do next,  for a while.
When I went to England recently, it would of been easier to have the 10 year card instead of the extension letter, cos not everyone at the airports understand what it meant! and a few times they had to call someone in the know! I think it feels like a sense of freedom, things you would normally just take for granted.
Ofcourse there was always the worry of a RFE and the messing about of maybe having to get yet another extension letter!
Yes John and I have stayed together throughout this, not like the K1 but it is still at the back of your mind. The other thing is I can actually have my driving license extened instead of having to keep renewing it kicking.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Condition on Social Security Card
I guess it is the same as with any government office - sometimes you get people who are really helpful, other times you get a**holes!

I would get back down there and ask to speak to the same person - put them right on what is required and tell them that you expect to have their full attention this time and for them to refrain from taking calls on a cellphone! If he does the same again, just sit there, patiently, but smile as you tell him that when he has finished his call you would like to speak with his supervisor!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTo obtain Permanent Residence/GC 2
You may find that the USCIS go ahead and simply issue an unconditional GC if your AOS has not been completed by the time you have been married two years.

They took a while to adjust my daughter's status, by which time I had been married two years and one day. It was certainly a nice surprise when her GC did come! I think this was deliberate - it saved everyone a lot of time and paperwork, they simply issued her a 10 year card straight away.

You have some time to wait, I see, before you need to be too worried about removing conditions. You have only been married 8 months from your signature.

Good luck!
G

Hi guys,

What if your conditional Green Card hasn't been approved yet, but then the marriage is over 2 years. What should I do? Am I able to proceed the removal of conditional Green Card? Does it use I-751 form?

Thank you,
-Cherry

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat is the definition of a "child"?

It is not as complicated as it may appear, although it is easy to get twisted up whilst reading the INA.

From what I can gather the relative points are:

1. Your Wife and daughter entered, the marriage took place within 90 days, and they adjusted status within 90 days of each other.
2. Your daughter is a LPR with conditions

Your daughter should be included on your wife’s petition to remove conditions if in fact she gained CLPR status within 90 days of your wife. There is no condition on age, as she is a Legal Permanent Resident with conditions.

In our case our daughter was granted LPR status nearly a year and ½ after my wife adjusted. When it came time to file I-751 we had to file one for my wife and one for my daughter as per the instructions. We then got a notice saying that the removal of conditions for my step daughter was not necessary because she was classed as a CR-1 (there went that money out the window, but better safe then sorry)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Biometrics Appointment Notice

Things have gone by rather quickly.

Mailed I-751 to TSC on October 30, 2006.

First NoA's dated November 1, 2006 arrive in the mail. My wife's NoA informs her that the check for $205 has been received and her Alien Card is extended for 12 months. My stepdaughter's NoA informs her that she is included as a dependent on my wife's petition and her alien registration receipt card validation is extended for 1 year. Both NoA's have the same SRC receipt number. We tried to use the US-CIS online case status service with the SRC receipt number, but it showed an error/invalid number.

Second NoA's dated November 14, 2006 arrive in the mail. Both NoA's are identical, but my wife and stepdaughter have SRC receipt numbers that are different from each other and they are different from the NoA1 SRC receipt number. The NoA2 extends their conditional residency for one year and gives some general information. We were able to successfully use the US-CIS online case status service with the new SRC receipt numbers.

ASC Appointment Notices for biometrics dated November 16, 2006 arrive in the mail. My wife and stepdaughter are both scheduled to have biometrics taken at the local ASC on December 9 at the same time in the morning. I didn't know US-CIS ASC worked on Saturday?

Yup! The ServiceCenters are open on Saturday. We have attended a few times on a Saturday morning for fingerprints and biometrics. The nice thing is that whenever we have gone on a Saturday it is usually quite quiet and we are in and out in under 30 minutes.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionwhat evidence

hi friends,

i just moved to the usa this month and i was told about removing the conditions in 21 months.
is there an interview taken for this also to remove conditions????
and what kind of evidence is asked for or required.

please give details if possible,
thanks

bombay.

The instructions on the I-751 spell out the evidence required. Look at it!
There is rarely an interview!

I think you will be seeing a lot more interview at the "removal of conditions" stage, seeing as so many AOS applications are being rushed through right now, without interviews. They get you at one end or the other!!

CanadaSicko - Don't Cry - get angry and do something about it

So I just watched the movie and while it did have its sad moments it should make all American's mad that the government is allowing our fellow human beings to be treated this way. I don't hear of marching in the streets or a call to action to get Universal healthcare - it's time to speak up don't you think?

What is the U.S. citizen in your relationship doing about it?

Dear Friend;
If you could only imagine how difficult life is for the majority of this world's population living in third world nations I think you would not even comment as such. Lets use Cuba as an example since this was one of the places the documentry speaks of. Did you know that basic human necessities are daily challenges and far too many to mention here...Actually no one could ever understand. Not even Cubans! It's rather ridiculious for a Hollywood director to give examples of a Cuban health care system and not see the conditions of so-called free Health care, unavalibility of basic medicines (tylonel Advil, etc..) lack of Doctors and Surgeons who fled the country or are working as entry level positions in Canadian/European owned companies for pennies on the dollar to feed thier families. I believe the filmaker deleted these scenes from his movie as they are too violent and disturbing for his Western audience. Meanwhile, the US continues ahead with an 45 year old economic embargo that deprives Cubans and Americans alike while Canadians and Europeans take advantage of the loop hole and continue full force to deprive Cuba of its wealth and natural resources and flood tourists to resorts that cubans are not allowed to even enter, while ordinary american families are being deprived to visit their cuban conterparts. Letters never reach your loved ones due to a failed Cuban postal system, there is no Fed-Ex, UPS or any priority or overnight services to Cuba but there is DHL service (Dutch owned) but the catch is that parcels must originate from Europe. E-mails, IM's, Chats are non-existent because Cubans are not allowed internet access. Phone calls (at a rate of $1.89 per minute) are to different numbers as most Cubans (especially from the interior) do not have their own telephone lines at home and have to depend on a neighbor or a public phone to maintain contact with their loved one's. Cell Phones are for foreign tourists or diplomats only and no ordinary Cuban can legally own one, so no text messaging either. How about that! Now, With all that said, even when you are lucky enough to have your US visa approved to visit your family, the Cuban immigration now has to approve the departure by paying a $400 departure tax and a very lengthy wait and let's see process where they can tell you if you can actually leave the country. OH! Let's not forget that you only have 3 months to enter the US once your visa has been issued by the consulate or your visa gets cancelled. How about that! Now, would you want to trade places? Free health care in return? Yea Right!!!! So I beg of you not to get hysterical, offended, enraged as to why Americans should be outraged. You should be outraged why a hollywood filmmaker should make millions worlwide telling a story that most of us already know....US Citizens that don't really care about these issues, as long as they can make descent wages... I am quite certain that no one in Canada or Europe is willing to exchange places either and endure real pain and sufferings like simply just to have our loved ones next to you and live a free life. So a capitalistic medical system with all it's pros and cons is not that bad considering the freedom and comfort that we often take for granted.

This exact statement is posted in many places, some of which don't even make sense...

CanadaSicko - Don't Cry - get angry and do something about it
I'm the USC in my relationship, and to be honest, I'm not doing anything about it. But you're completely right, we do need to take some kind of action. The price of healthcare has become ridiculous. I'm hoping it will be on the platform of one of our 2008 presidential candidate. Now would be the perfect time to raise some fuss about it. We need to let the candidates know what WE want, and let them draw on that.

I have no idea how to go about that, though.

On a side note, I haven't watched the movie yet.

CanadaI need to vent!!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I know you've been there for a year, but maybe you just need to give it a little more time. If there were a ton of jobs available before you arrived, the odds are there will be some available soon. Does your husband have any skills in any other type of work? Maybe he could get something else until one of the positions opens up. You've already got one year of your required time out of the way, hopefully you'll be able to pull through and finish.

About making friends...have you tried to get out and socialize? Maybe invite the neighbors or co-workers over for a BBQ. Are there any local clubs or anything you could join? Some people just need time to open up. Maybe you could throw a block party or something and invite everyone in the neighborhood. People can't turn down free food :P.

I hope things turn around for you. I wish the best of luck to your husband on getting a decent job that can put his skills to good use, and I wish you both luck finding some good friends.

CanadaTracking software???? Computer Geeks Unite!!
Wow, I get really excited reading your posts because of all the exclamation points.

I've heard of some monitoring software, like SentryPC and PC Nanny, but I've never used any of them or seen them in use. She could google "monitoring software" and read about them their. I've also heard of a little device you can plug into the back of your computer that logs every keystroke made on the machine, he wouldn't know it was there unless he looked at the back.

I agree that it is a really bad idea. If she's at the stage where she's willing to spy on him then the trust is gone. She'll probably always be suspicious that he is cheating on her, even if she doesn't find anything while she's spying. I think the only way to fix the situation would be for her to talk to her husband.

Misa is right, if he's not cheating but finds the software/hardware she's using to spy on him, then she's just made things soooo much worse.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 Finally! YEAY!

Hey Everyone!

Scott and I got our NOA2 and the letter/packet 3 in the mail dated JUNE 1! Finally. But we both know it's not all smooth sailing from here on it either!

I have a quick question about the NOA2. Is it supposed to be sent to the petitioner's address or the fiance's? My fiance is currently visiting me and I've been waiting for my NOA2, but after reading this post I'm wondering if it's waiting at his house. Also, is packet 3 sent WITH the NOA2, or was that just a coincidence in Scott and Angel's case?

Thanks everyone :)

I agree, be happy. VSC has been pretty slow lately, but hopefully it will be speeding up again really soon ( ). I've been waiting about 8 weeks for my NOA2 and will probably be waiting a month or so longer. There are some who have been waiting even longer than that. VSC had a dry spell for awhile, though, so once that clears up you should be on your way.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCheck cashed for K1

Hi all Vjer,

Quick question, I filed for K1 Visa on 6/27, they cashed my check yesterday.Does that mean that my paperworks is good and that they will be sending me the packet1 soon? I am happy about getting it started and moving along...

No... it just means that they got your file and cashed the check
You should receive NOA1, which is not a packet, but a paper (notice of action), where they state they received your file. From there you will be able to get your case number, so that you can follow it online (you can also get the number from the back of the checque).
NOA2, which is the approval, will come later on... hang on, you are just at the beginning of the road  good thing you're with Vermont... they are moving faster as far as I know.

:crying: No they're not.

I see. So NOA1,next NOA2 then Packet 3 and finally Packet4 right? How long it the time from NOA1 to NOA2? Just planning ahead so when it comes down to it I would have everything ready....

The time between NOA1 and NOA2 varies, you can see an estimated time on the processing page http://www.visajourn...h...&page=times. VSC is currently estimated at 63 days, but some people on here have been waiting over 80. There's been a slow down for some reason and there's alot of VSC filers waiting for NOA2's.
