1. my case is still pending of courseeee
2. they told me that they heard NOTHING indicating that the 129Fs are being moved to Nebraska, and that the processing dates were just updated for Vermont.

I was just wondering exactly when is our "time to bat"? I noticed that the processing time has increased 14 days from what it was when I sent in my petition. I'm wondering if I go by that number, or do I stick with the processing time from when I received my NOA? :unsure:

Hey guys,

I'm a May filer, too. I got my NOA1 about a week after UCSIS recieved my application packet. Now I'm waiting on my NOA2. I was wondering if anyone could explain what the service center receipting update is all about. I read through the posts hoping someone else would have already asked but I couldn't find anyone who did. So I guess I'm the only one who doesn't understand it :blush: . My application is being processed at the Vermont Service Center and this was posted beneath it's listing :

As for me, if things fall through with Hamid, I would never become involved with anyone outside USA again because of financial reasons and all of the effort involved. A person can easily go broke visiting fiance, etc. I try to look at each trip as a vacation, but always end up spending much more than planned. My shopping addiction doesn't help...lol. Like someone before me, I would give my attention to my dog...always loyal and faithful. :)



Same here. This is an extremely long and hard process, if things didn't work out with my fiance I would definitely keep my attentions focused inside the country.

There are plenty of good, traditional American men, you just have to find one. Getting a guy closer to home would make it easier to find time to be with him. I couldn't imagine talking for only a few minutes each day, or not at all.

Whatever you decide to do, good luck. You deserve someone who will give you attention and love. Finances shouldn't be all one sided, both members need to contribute, somehow.

From what you're saying it sounds like the trust in your relationship is already gone, not that I blame you. In my opinion there is no point in continuing a marriage when there is no trust. I for one would go CRAZY if I didn't speak to my fiance on a regular basis. We talk for several hours every single day (except for this weekend when he's going to Poland and all I will get is a phone call, sniff :(). I agree that you should find out whether or not the marriage was legal, and if it is you may want to go about disolving it. As for the relationship you are considering starting with another non US citizen- maybe you should try something a little closer to home. It would be much less of a financial obligation and you could keep in contact much easier.

I'm sorry you're going though this. I'm sure things will start to get better. Hang in there. (F)

I can understand how frustrated you must be.

I would definitely call and find out what's happening, being as they have your husband's passport and they've had it for 8 weeks.

I've called and my husband has called the embassy and they have told us both that they will contact us when they are ready to issue the visa, until then they said they don't know how long it will take. This is so frustrating to me because they still have his passport and he is a foreign national in SA...and get this...because he has not returned his passport to his employer they have frozen his salary and will continueto do so until he returns the passport. Should he return his passport to his employer they will not give it back to him, and also keep in mind that if he goes to the embassy to get his visa they will want it back as soon as possible. One other thing I forgot to mention, the embassy is fully aware that his salary has been frozen. So as you can see this is a HUGE mess. He can't continue to do without a salary indefinitely and should they not call him in shortly to pick up his visa he will have no other choice but to ask for his visa and then everything will stop prematurely. I've contacted my congressman and he is looking into the matter but I don't know if that will help or not.


They shouldn't be able to do that. I hope your congressman can do something about it. This process is VERY frustrating and I've only just started.

Recieved Dec, 28 2005 And I recieved a letter today saying that it was approved.

I didnt get an email from them and the case onlline has not been updated either..

Sounds like my problem.....Drew mailed DS-3032 from Jamaica on 8/21 via registered mail......NVC still says no receipt of it yet.......However, I sent out the I-864 packet and they have received it and entered it into their system......But says waiting on DS-3032........I talked to NVC and they say that once they receive DS-3032, it could take up to 5 days before it is entered into the system.....

NVC said it generated our IV bill on 9/17 however I still haven't received anything....On 9/20 automated system said it was touched (RFE)....missing documents or information.....I called and talked to an operator.....and the missing documents/information is the IV bill which I would love to receive and pay......just more waiting.....NVC told me this morning that if I don't receive it by 10/17 crying.gif that they will be able to send out another one..........WAIT! I am having issues getting registered on line to even see my touches. The site keeps stating my receipt # is invalid. I called the 800 # they state the site can not hold anymore information but I see you sent for your K1 after us. We mailed our paperwork on the 28th of Oct and I have a receipt # in hand. Well... I dont know exactly what is the question, I would assume you are talking about taking or showing proof of your educational degrees? The interview is just for you to show that the relationship is bonafide, meaning that you only need to prove that you and your SO are together because you are in love...not because your SO is just trying to move into the US .... Secondly, they need you to prove that you make enough income to support your SO so that she/he wont be a charge or load to the government. All of this can be easily supported with letter of employment, previous year taxes, and bank statements, properties, etc... they are not questioning or making their decision based on yours or your SO's educational background... but again.. you are welcome to bring any document that you might think is relevant to show at the interview.....my only advice is just show them what they ask you to show in the interview... for instance: if they ask: show me your taxes for 2008? ........ and you give them 2008-2000 they do not like that because they did not ask you for all those years...

Meant it to show my ability to support her....overthinking. Good news though, the package is at the embassy in Bogota. smile.gif

Quick question...on the financial information. I meet the requirement...and have my return prepared by my accountant. Question is...do I still need my checking account information? If I do, I deposited probably around 40 grand in the account that year, but I only keep about 1000 at a time. Is that ok? Or, do I need to make a bigger deposit and leave it? Thanks!

Haven't even gotten a touch and I've called the service center I don't know how many times. Unfortunately I have not gotten ahold of a person. So, I used the email address to contact them and explained why I didn't wait 30 days for email contact.

I just made the observation that the website says cases are taken in the order they are filed...but many people are being approved who have filed a month or more after I did. So I asked if it were possible that my case was lost.

Any chance I'll get an email back?

I think initial review means you have a NOA1. My understand is they haven't touched the case.


I thought that the NOA1 was acceptence, It says under acceptance "USCIS issues a receipt number for the application or petition, and sends a receipt notice to the applicant." Which would be the NOA1. I could be wrong but it says under Initial Review that it concerns background checks on the Petitioner, which would explain my 3 touches in a row. I don't know why they'd start that if they weren't looking at my petition. Maybe I'm just being too hopeful!

No approvals yet today it looks like, do they work weekends? blush.gif

I've actually had a really good day, I've been out in the sun[yes it's occasionally sunny in england!], with a few glasses of wine relaxing and reading a book! It might sound silly but sometimes all you need is for someone to tell you to relax before you actually do. Again thanks Temp! ^^

It says the acceptance step is completed after 2 business days. So, I think the review step means they are doing nothing with it. What does a touch look like with the new system?
