However, a few K-1's recently (who were approved later than you) already have interviews for April. (I know it is immigrant vs nonimmigrant visas...I still think it should be first come first served.) This whole system is screwed up! The only real light at the end of this tunnel for you Barbara is that by the time your husband gets interviewed again and makes it to the States, since you have been married over two years, he will get his 10 year greencard (not a two year conditional one). Middle East and North Africa	Middle Eastern Cooking . . .	I'd love a good recipe for bstilla (sp.?) if someone has one... Jenn, We just made some tonight. Our first go at it. It comes out of the oven in 5 minutes. I'll let you know how it is. We got the recipe from Paula Wolfert's Cookbook, "Couscous and other...." One of my students bought it for me for Christmas and it is awesome. Just to let you know, pastilla is a couple hour event (between cooking, deboning, and shredding the chicken; blanching, sauting and grinding the almonds; and working with the phyllo dough -- that stuff is enough to drive anyone mad). Middle East and North Africa	Did you change your name when you got married?	We talked about this before we got married. Hicham cared less if I changed my name as he said it is not custom. It was my decision to change it (and 10 months later I am still in process). I told him I want it to symbolize our unity, be easier for our future children (inshallah), and be easier for my students (they expected the name change due to our customs). Hicham has been talking with one of the entrance counselors at the local community college and they said the main thing to make it easy was to have it. Middle East and North Africa	i need some pointers lol	In our K-1 application, I sent LOTS of proof that we had met and proof we had a relationship. I think it is better to be safe than sorry. The more proof of relationship that you can show Casa the better. Just make sure everything is indexed to make it easier to find. Examples we sent in: boarding passes photocopies of passport stamps money exchange receipts hotel receipt copy of itinerary I gave my family that I wrote for them before I left pictures of the two of us together (I think I sent 4 with descriptions of where and when) A description of how we met a copy of a phone bill showing calls to him an email from each of us for every month up to when we sent in petition copies of mailing packages (showing he mailed items to me) copies of a few letters he had sent to me To the interview he brought along proof that we were engaged... receipt for my wedding dress engagement notice some more emails / pictures whole copy of chat transcripts from every day we were together Best of luck! I remember when Hicham and I were dealing with difficulties with my family when I told them we were intending to marry. I had told Hicham then that I believed we found each other for a purpose...that both of us came together to spread tolerance among our families, friends, and people we come into contact with. Don't let it be the reason for a return!! AND>>> if at all POSSIBLE...be in Maroc for the interview!!! hugs chi Personally, I think being super-aggressive with anyone, much less an over-worked consular officer, will not in any way help your case. There are ways of showing your proof of relationship (like others have stated in previous posts). Just as an example: my husband (then fiance) and I sent quite a bit of proof off with our visa application. It was not a truck-load. However, it showed various methods through which we communicated (mail, email, ecards, chat transcripts, telephone records). We also explained in the "how we met letter" what some of our similarities are. I think giving this information to the consulate ahead of time makes the process easier. (Although my husband still brought more proof and told them him had it...they did not want to see any of it. His interview was pretty straight-forward.
