This is the thread that's on the old threads section

http://www.visajourn...pic=40618&st=60

for those who had read it or commented, thanks!

Things have gotten a lot better, and I am accepted into my inlaws family now. I have not spoken to my MIL yet because of the language barrier. I just recently spoke to my father in law on the phone for about 30seconds but was really nervousssssss. They are happy for us overall yet still facing some difficult social issues so they don't talk about it much where they are. They live in Varanasi, very traditional place. We hope to help them move to Mumbai in a year or so where they won't be under so much social pressure. They have a lot of relatives in Mumbai so they decided they'd rather live there when deciding between New Delhi and Mumbai.

HI
I am very happy that there has been some progress between your in-laws and yourself.

I feel it is very sad and tragic that they dont or did not before hand accpet you.

Sujeet seems like a very wonderful and a good husband. I see he is very happy and he glows. His parents should be happy that his son is making his own life, and is very happy.

So I am happy that things are going in the right direction.

we will keep praying it will keep going in the right direction.

Sujeet has a good and talented family..we just need peace and harmony..

Traditions chage over time, and I understand his parents are very into tradition. It seems his father is more willing to accpet but things will be good..

My Indian husband and I were married last month in Noida. Happy as 2 peas in a pod and preparing for the whole visa nightmare and our next visit. However, it appears I brought something unexpected back to the States with me. It's not official, but we are strongly suspecting I'm pregnant. If we have the baby in the States, is it automatically a US citizen? If it's born in India, is it considered an Indian citizen? I've done some searching, but not having much luck. If anyone has any info or a link they can share, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

yes if they are born in the USA they will become US Citizen by natrual. If the baby was born in India
it depends. Are you a USC? if you are then you can make your baby a USC cause your a USC.. IF you are a Perm. Res and are Indian then you will have to get a visa for the baby.

I hope that helps

Asia: East and PacificI'm travelling to the Philippines to visit Fely for 2 months

Well we couldn't take the separation and waiting any longer. So Fely and I decided that I'll take my trip to see her again now, and hope for the divorce papers in time to get married. My wife filed for divorce bifurcation and the final papers are due any day.

So I'm leaving early the morning of April 5th, and I'll be there until June 3rd. I plan to get a visa waiver while I'm there, so I can stay 59 days. It's so strange planning on leaving my home here in Watsonville empty for 2 full months. I still need to find someone willing to come feed my cats and collect my mail.

Assuming I get the divorce in time, I'll be going to the embassy on the morning of April 7th to get my permission to marry from the consulate. Since my plane arrives at 9:55 am and the American Services section is only open until 10 am, we'll have to stay overnight in Manila. I told Fely we could stay in a hotel across the street from the Embassy, but she fears for my safety, so we'll be staying instead with her cousin in Marikina City. Okay by me, it saves the cost of the hotel.

Congrats.. I was wondering where you been. Now you are going to the Philippines..

Can you do me a favor.. Can you stuff me in your suit case

have a good time.

Asia: East and PacificTrip to Phillipines/Gen Santos

Chris, try to ask your fiancee if you could meet somewhere like Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City or Manila. General Santos City (just by the name of the city) scared me to death when my niece was sent by her boss to work there. My niece said she could hear gun shots, long story. I am a filipina but I am so scared to go to General Santos City. My parents live there before when they first got married but only for few months. My parents says that it's dangerous there. If I am your fiancee I am not going to put your life in danger (I didn't say your fiancee put you in danger coz I know she is concerned for your safety). There are some filipinos who didn't realized how dangerous for foreigners to visit to some parts of the Philippines. Generally speaking the island of Mindanao! I have a USC friend who went to met her fiancee in Tacorong City not far from General Santos. He stayed at his fiancee's house only for couple nights. The whole family couldn't slept because they have to guard him and he can't slept either, he said he can hear gun shots and bombing. His fiancee's parents dicided to let him went back to Davao City airport to flew to Cebu. My USC friend told me that he rode in a van vehicle with a tarp coving on it because they went through many place with lots of Muslims residents. I am not scaring you, I am just really concerned of your safety in my country. My openion is if you are very interested to meet her parents I would say try to ask your fiancee's parents if you could meet them in Davao City instead in General Santos City. I would say it is good if you visit her, your visit will make her feel good as well as her parents and remember this is also a requirement when you apply a visa to get her here in US. Waiver is not a smart option! Otherwise, the Manila embassy will pointed out that to you that there are many foreign fiance visit the Philippines.

HI
I want to tell you I am with you 1000% of the way.. everything you said is very true. My wife is from Padigan city. She said it is safe there from the muslims and etc..I have not gone down their yet and I wont without my wife with me.

When I first met my current wife in the Philippines, I was seperated from my first wife and she is also pinay.. I met up with her when i went to the Philippines to meet my current wife..she even told me to stay away from mindinao. She said it is too dangerous and she did not want to feel responible. I aruge with her but she won out and I am glad I listen.

I met my current wife in Manila and we spent a week in Manila.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEmergency!! Please!!

I just got done talking to the embassy and the rep on the charged call was really nice :D She said that I should be able to enter the U.S. without any problems with VWP even though I have filed for a K3. She said that having a round ticket from the U.S. to Japan is considered as you have a will to go back to your country and it's even better if I have a doctor statement, so currently his sister is getting it for me.

"Due to security considerations, there is no longer an information window for walk-in visitors."

That is what the embassy website states :(

Anyway, I am hoping that I will have no problems to enter. I think you are right. If I act too worried, they might think I am suspicious. I am not doing anything bad, so I will just act normal :D Now I need to contact my work. I hope they are understandable. There is another problem since some workers are unnice ;)

Hi I am beyond pissed off. I sent my Affidavit of Support information, banking statements, etc. to the US Embassy in Belize City on AUGUST 25th on a "2-DAY EXPRESS" [60 bucks], using ****UPS***** First, they claimed that weather problems were causing delays and then after calling them 4 times they finally admitted that they had LOST the package!!!! Not only had they lost it, but they were UNAPOLOGETIC and did not say they would refund my money!

To make matters worse, my husband's interview for last thursday was CANCELLED because they did not have the forms they needed from ME....great....so now they re-scheduled him or next tuesday, but as of TODAY, UPS has STILL not been able to find my package!!!!

**********DO NOT USE UPS FOR IMPORTANT INTERNATIONAL MAIL********* HORRIBLE SERVICE, MEAN PEOPLE, NO REFUNDS!!!

You need to just inform the consulate in Manila that you want to start to visa process for your child to come over to the USA.
My wife's son, is he now. My wife had her interview at Hong Kong but her son was in Manila.

I had to transfer her case.

QUOTE (tabal @ Nov 4 2007, 05:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Her cousin and her best friend went through similar situations without using an attorney. They were officially married through the state and filed some paper work to obtain their green cards. I am sure their cases were the same as ours and neither of them had issues getting their greencards. Also, her passport can be re-newed at the Brazilian Embassy here in the U.S. without her having to leave the country no? Thanks for the help.

I agree with getting a lawyer. If you met her while she was in the USA, you can marry her and file for AOS. By no means dont go back to Brazil and get married, she will have a 5 or 10 year ban. Best to marry here and get your AOS in the USA.

For her passport, she needs to go to a Brazil Embassy closest to you. DO NOT Mail her passport back to Brazil to renew. that will create problems.
It will be treated like she left the country when she really did not.

Good Luck and take care

Hi! I was wondering, does my fiance (the petitioner) needs to have $16,500 (for a household of 2 persons) in his bank account to show that he can support the poverty level 125% for I-134? or does that only apply for the I-864? Oh, if and only if, he does need to have that... do we require a co-sponsor if his yearly income is $40,000 even though his bank account does not reach the 125% poverty line? pls do reply! thanks.

NO he does not need to have that in the bank. .He just needs to have the assets or income to show he can support you.

if he makes $40,000 a year, then I see no problem he would be ok to sponsor more then one.

Well my fiancee just had her second interview and I was right the problem was because of the mental evauation! The second interview was no interview though! They asked her no question all they did was read the medical. The part about her mental evaluation. Then they said they will have to send her package to the US to see if they will let her have the visa. Has anybody else had a case like this? I have never heard anything like this. They usally give the visa or not but I never heard about a petition being sent to the US for evaluation of appoval!

well that is good I guess.. why are they so concern about her mental evaluation?

The embassy had all the proof we had provied to immgration here in my home city of spokane wedding phones calling cards, about 150 emails. card he had sent me, copies of western union recipt where I sent him money. copies of my two differnt plane tickets I paid for. They interview him under outh and then interviewed me and then interview us in a differnt room and played a game they called the immigration game asking us question about what side of the bed we sleep on the color of the bedding the color of our tooth breshes.

my husband was never given any paper saying he was denied and now they are telling me the case is pending and they have interviewed our family in tunis.

I dont belive a word you are saying!

Yeah sounds kinda fishy to me. If you were denied they tell you and give you a blue peice of paper and they will send the case back to the USA. they dont alway interview seperated but if they are doubting it they will.

I dont belive they denied then have a change of heart and feel guilty and say ok we sorry we interview the family.. it does not happen like that

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFingerprint saga -Has anyone else experienced this?

I am mad beyond belief at the London embassy right now so please excuse this mini rant:

I had my interview almost 3 weeks ago and it all went well (beyond the taking of the fingerprints but we will get to that), was approved with no hassle yet currently there is no sign of my visa. My Fiance and I have spend the last few weeks liaising between the embassy and the state department to try and find out what it going on (because God forbid they do what they are paid to and do this themselves). At first we were told system errors, then system delays then the embassy told us they were waiting to hear from the state department ( and of course the state dept blames the embassy) etc etc etc. Finally this week we got through to someone who actually looked our case up on screen who told us the FBI had informed the embassy on March 20th ( the day of my interview) that they were unable to read the fingerprints they sent through and had asked for new ones to be sent. My Fiance called the FBI fingerprint dept to confirm and they were the friendliest contact so far, telling us they had repeatedly informed the embassy the prints were too low density and the machine couldn't have been working properly -they are just waiting for my new prints which they assumed the embassy were arranging.

The MENSA members at the embassy then took it upon themselves, not to call me back in to re-do them but to re-send the SAME fingerprints on March 30th...which obviously the FBI still could not read. Since then they have done nothing, despite sending me snotty emails telling us they are doing 'everything in their power' to resolve the issue. Yeah, everything tell the truth...

What really is getting to me is that they took my prints 8 times on the day and couldn't seem to get the machine to work, whan I queried it they said the ones they had 'would do'. So they have just been lying and refusing to admit their mistake when it could be so simple to fix. Apparently this is the only thing stopping the visa being issued. Of course there is nothing I can do but email the embassy, tell them I know what the problem is and offer to come back in because god knows how long it will take them to contact me and admit they screwed up.It is such a farce.

What a bunch of useless lying incompetent gimps.

I'm kinda worried that if I do go back in I'll get the same chuckle brothers who can't find the 'Take prints' button as last time...I have travelled regularly to the US over the last 3 years and never once had a problem getting my fingerprints read and as far as I know I do have fingerprints!

Has anyone else ever been in a similar situation? Or anything similarly ridiculous?!!

sorry for your problem, I am surpised cause the fingerprint machine should state it is not a good print. it confirms it is a good or bad print.. if good it saves it and then when you have all good prints they can send it to the fbi

Take care

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIm so sad. My interview not successful

I feel so stressed and sad right now. :crying: I had my K3 visa interview yesterday. I have prayed a lot and received good luck from my friends and also here from visajourney. But still the CO didnt give me a visa. I thought I already have completed documents they needed. Ok, here it goes... I was really damn nervous before talking to the CO. he was nice though, first he asked me few questions about my relationship with my husband. and I able to answered it well. Then CO checked my husband's mom affidavit of support since my husband still in school right now and will graduate in august. (He used to have a part time job as a math tutor in his university). But CO told me that $30k income is not enough to support me since they already 4 in the family. The father doesnt work but he's receiving pensions. (They didnt include it from the support) The CO thought I could be a burden when I go the states. I felt rattled already and wasnt able to answer all his questions well. I kept insisting that they even have a paid property, but CO said as if my husband's family will going to sell their property for me... I even told that my husband will graduate soon and will have a better job and I will also planning to work and will able to support them as well. What a bit odd in his question for me is like, do u have money right now?! Of course I told the truth, though i have but still not enough. Is this part of the requirements that I should have tons of money here in P.I?! well, well, the CO gave the white form and adviced me to wait for my husband to have a job, they returned my passport anyway :( My I-129F petition still with the US embassy, they say I could present my husband contract of employment or payslips once he will landed a job. But I know it will take a lil more while. another timeline for me...

Right now, we are processing my I130 petition. It was approved in december. My husband's family is planning to find a good lawyer to help our case. This time, they are going to include cousins good income who is really willing to help.

You know what guys Im not really eager to go to the U.S. as soon as possible. All i want is to be with my husband.I have suffered a lot not seeing my husband. This feeling really hurts me a lot. Really!!!

Any suggestion about me case?! It was really a painful experience

Hello,

What is the exact amount that you put down? I ask cause i went to the USCSI web site and I looked up the min. amount and if they have a family of 4 plus you that makes five, The min is $30,125.00

so if his father has a pension I am sure you will make it. Maybe should of put that on the form also. But I think that CO gave you some Bola bola.

I am sorry this happen to you.

US Citizenship General Discussionchildren born in U.S.

Maybe someone can anwser this for me or at least point me in the direction. I have a friend who is here illegally. she has been here for over 7 years and has had 2 chlidren born here. there father is illegal also they are both from colombia. she is now trying to marry any man she can just so she can get her greencard so she can work, and not have to worry about being deported and also so she can go visit her parents back home. I tried to explain to her (and i may be wrong) but since her children are citizens it should be easier for her to get her citizenship that way than a marriage visa. The way im working this out in my head is. they can not kick two american citizens out of the country and they can not kick her out with out her children.... SO where does that leave her. HERE. But this is all my idea and i have not been able to show her solid proof which i am trying to do before she gets herself in trouble by a fake marriage.

Thanks for your help

boy oh boy,, this is not sounding good.. she is married to someone and wants to marry a USC just to get a green card. Sounds like fraud to me.

Even she does find someone to do it, she still can be deported cause you can't married to envade deportation.

she best just leave.

US Citizenship General Discussion**Really worried*** Just found out
QUOTE (Vero77 @ Jan 3 2008, 12:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
That my husband was still married when we got married. I've been legal resident (based on marriage with a US citizen) for more than 6 years... I'm ready to become a US citizen and file my N-400 BUT.... they ask me for divorce papers from my husband's prior marriages (he is my first and only husband)
now he is a Vietnam vet and suffers from all kind of mental illneses PTSD, flashbacks, etc.
So he says that he doesn't remember when he got married or divorced or nothing. I know that he was still married because we just found out his ex and she told us. She lives in GA and we live in CA.
Now...not sure if I really need his divorce papers when I file based on ... I got into marriage in good faith and we've been married since 2000.
I cannot pay a lawyer, I was ready to do the paper but now I really don't know...
If anybody knows if the divorce papers after 5 years of being resident will delay my citizenship from going through...
i'm really scarred to get caught and being deported. And everything will be FINITO!!!
Please help!!!
