US Embassy and Consulate Discussionvaccination list
thanks for the reply,
i found the list on your link. my problem is in the following:

they say "Any other vaccinations recommended by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP)" . even though HPV isnt on the listof USCIS, the ACIP does recommend it on their website

http://www.cdc.gov/m..._cid=rr5602a1_e

Catch-Up Vaccination of Females Aged 13--26 Years

Vaccination also is recommended for females aged 13--26 years who have not been previously vaccinated or who have not completed the full series. Ideally, vaccine should be administered before potential exposure to HPV through sexual contact; however, females who might have already been exposed to HPV should be vaccinated. Sexually active females who have not been infected with any of the HPV vaccine types would receive full benefit from vaccination. Vaccination would provide less benefit to females if they have already been infected with one or more of the four vaccine HPV types. However, it is not possible for a clinician to assess the extent to which sexually active persons would benefit from vaccination, and the risk for HPV infection might continue as long as persons are sexually active. Pap testing and screening for HPV DNA or HPV antibody are not needed before vaccination at any age.

so HPV should be added to that list??

so basically, one cant really go by the list, and you should still check the individual recommendations they make?? ACIP should have a list of THEIR recommendations, as those are one USCIS follows?

i guess it doenst really matter that much, but the unclearity of it frustrates me a bit....

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionvaccination list
hello,

can anybody tell me where i can find the most up to date list of the vaccinations required?? i know there has been a big dicsussion about Gardasil going on on several forums, and i've read a couple of times it IS required for AOS.
The US Embassy gave me a list of vaccination for immigrant visas and it's not on there, but then they also send me an DS-230 from that expired in 2004 headbonk.gif (they're not too much up to date seems, no??), so i was wondering if i can find it somewhere online...

i just would like to get everything done before i leave...

thanks in advance

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 question 2
question 2 asks for a date when my fiance started residing in the US. he doesnt really know when he arrived, most probably somewhere 1980 or 1981. I assume it isn't really important, but it would be nice if somebody agrees with me on that huh.gif
Or does somebody know how to find out?it doesnt say on his naturalisation paper when he started residing, just that he was residing at that time...

many thanks in advance

The medical is looking for primarily looking for TB, Aids, which involves blood tests and chest xrays.

that and syfillis.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHepatitis B Vaccination
if she allready had it they can take a titer, what basically means they look for the antibodies of HEP B (your body made those because they gave you a vaccin) in your blood. it's cheaper than getting it twice (and that would be called bad medicine).
the MD will take a bloodsample anyhow, they can just test this with the rest. (if he/she doesnt believe you)

good luck

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFiancee showed scarring on her lungs:
there are a lot of lungdeseases that cause scarring. asthma can aswell. only more tests well tell you if it really is TB, but chances of it being an active TB are small. that ofcourse doenst mean it cant be TB. (speculation, like Tbone said)
and look at it from the bright side: if it is TB: you caught it early and minimized the damage. it may delay your process 6 months, but you'll have a healthy wife 6 months later.

wishing you the best,

marjan

Well, I think I am ready for tomorrow, but I cannot help worrying! I guess it is normal, right? blush.gif
I have all the documents needed (I-134 with employer's letter, pay stubs, taxes transcripts; 2 signed DS-156 and unsigned DS-156K), and a bunch of pictures, phone bills, emails, letters from my fiance, my birth certif and police records in many exemplaries... Before the interview, I am going to the doctor so that she can give me the medical report I will have to give at the embassy.
So, yeah, I just want to share my excitment with everybody!!! I will be so so relieve when all this is over!!
Keep your fingers crossed for me!!
good.gif

Have a good day!

I have one more question: in those forms DS-157 and so on they also ask when i was where in which country over the last 10 years....if i dont know that anymore...should i guess ?!?!? wacko.gif blink.gif

that's an impossible question for most europeans i think, crossing borders the whole time.
i was very happy to find out belgium doesnt require a DS-157 form...
i would check my passport for everything out of europe, everything else: get it a correct (and complete) as possible (checking picture albums and stuff). ther's no way anybody can find out when and where you've been, i cant imagine it matters...

good luck

QUOTE (Leedah @ Nov 14 2008, 08:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Gambia is nice this time of year. Since you have been to Africa, I guess I don't have to explain what nice is. Obviously your use to the sand everywhere. hahaha.

Anyway, I would suggest that you go to a place called Sun Downers in Kotu. It is owned by an older British couple name Mick and Janice.

They have a BEAUTIFUL compound that is VERY clean, has a lovely pool and is in a nice area with LOTS of restaurants and entertainment (atleast for Gambian standards, lol).

Here is the link: Sun Downers

http://www.sundowner...anvillas.co.uk/ (in case you want to simply cut and paste or save the link.

Anyway, tell them that Khalidah sent you and they should give you a good discount. hahaha. Who knows if they will, but if you can haggle, you might get by. lol.

I have LOTS of peeps there if you go and need rides around no charge or if you get in a jam and need assistance.
I got international text message on my cell, so text me if your there and need assistance on something.

Leedah

NICE! Thank you so much! My fiance is supposed to be getting some information from his friend, ie where they are living and where the ballet is rehearsing. My French is terrible so I'm psyched Gambia is an English speaking country!

Africa: Sub-SaharanI got my ticket!
Yay! I got my ticket today to go back and see my fiance! It's been a long five months...

I know I don't want to stay in N'Gor for a month, and we can't go back to Guinea because it's just too unstable right now. We were thinking about going to Saly Portutal but now we are thinking about going to Gambia.

Apparently my fiance has a Guinean friend who plays in a Guinean ballet in Gambia and they say it's really nice. Having a ballet would be good for both of us, he's a drummer and I'm a dancer. WOO HOO!

So, I've seen some sites that say I need a visa and some that say I don't (I am US citizen). I'm also pretty sure we'll be in Banjul and would love to find a little room with a clean bathroom to rent for the month I'll be there. Christmas on the beach...? Good places to eat....? Good markets....?

Leedah, any suggestions? Anybody else? Help!
