IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy Interview Experience USEM (manila) Dec 8
QUOTE (glennfabian @ Dec 8 2009, 01:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
(Don't bring cellfone or other electronic gadgets. Otherwise you will have to leave it to the vendors outside and you have to pay them P100.)

My schedule is 8:30am... I arrived 6:40am.
It's just in time to get seated with other applicants scheduled at 8:30am.

Then a few minutes later the 8:30 applicants stand in line to get a number.
During this time be prepared to bring out the interview appointment letter. Hand them over the papers and they will give you your number.

You will seat and wait for your number to be shown on the electronic board. Be alert. It's not in any particular order. But as for me I waited about 1&1/2 hour.

When your number is shown, it has a corresponding window where you will go. It's either you go to the pre screener or the finger printing. I was assigned to the finger printing. Then I stand in line again, they will get your number. And you should rub your hands as if your heating them so that it will be moist and easier to be scanned. And then they return the number and you will go back to your seat and wait again for your number to be shown on the board.

I waited for about 2 minutes and my number is shown again. This time to the pre screener. I have prepared all my documents in three separate flexible plastic organizers so that it will fit on the window. ( window is about 2 inch by 12 inch) and it has a downward curve. One of my folders contained all the proof of relationship (pics, emails, chatlogs, greeting cards, letters etc. ) That is the only one the pre screener asked for.

The pre screener also asked me several questions. (how we met, when, who petitioned my wife, what's her job, how long she's been in the US, asked me if i've ever been out of the country and why...). They will forward the documets to the consul. And then go back to your seat and wait again for your number to be shown on the board.

I sat but my number was immediately shown on the board. And then I sat outside the interview room and waited for the previous applicant to finish before i get in. When I got in, the consul asked me almost the same questions. but this time it took me around 5 minutes. And then he said congratulations your visa is approved. Pls go back to your seat and wait for the number and they will give further instructions.

When i sat, my number was already showing again. so i went to the corresponding window and they just said pay the Express Mail so that the Passport will be sent directly to your home. I signed it and paid P205. So i expect to receive it 3 to 5 days since i live in manila. I got out around 9:30am.

smile.gif I'm very happy and I'm still in the mood to celebrate hehe biggrin.gif. I hope this helps. And also pls ask if you have any other questions. Thank You.

You need to be at %125 of the US poverty level, which is set very low actually, last time I checked it was $16,000.00 yearly income, so you need to make at least $20,000.00 a year. But if you dont make that much you can have someone who does sign to co-sponsor your fiance

25,000$ a yrs is consider below poverty
the petitioner need co sponsor

Travelers from the U.K. are usually given a visitors' visa automatically, unless there is some circumstance that makes you ineligible.

QUOTE (Mypapabear @ Nov 3 2008, 05:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi to everyone, I was done my Interview today at Manila Embassy and I did not get an Approval and back my Passport to me, because the consul said that the K1 Visa is not allowed a Co- sponsor. My fiance did not meet the minimum requirement for Poverty line (he only work as a Part time), That's why he used his Father as a Co-sponsor, But the thing is Co-sponsor is not Applicable now to K1 Visa, They did not denied our Petition they just ask the Notorized letter from New employer of my fiance stating his start date salary. Because I told to the Consul that My fiance is looking a for a new job, which Is true, But I know it took a while before you get a new job. Now my question is can my fiance got a 2 jobs even if its both part-time so he can meet the minimum requirement, what is the chances that we denied on this petition if ever we dont provide it, If we denied can we Married and change our Petiton to CR1, and If we get married are we gonna start all over again,,. Sorry to a lot of question I just feel so bad the outcome of my Interview, because on my knowledge and research the co-sponsor is allowed beside we hire a lawyer to file this petition to make sure that the petition are no chances of denial. So I know with all your advice I am more open on what is our next thing that we have to do, Again thank you in advance..

i am sorry to hear i hope you find the other solution
just be patient every problem has answer just hold tight

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionApplication for Removal of Conditions has been approved.

Hello everyone,
We are glad to be done with USCIS. Our application for the removal of conditions has been approved. USCIS actually asked for more evidence about a month ago which we provided. We were a bit worried when they asked for more evidence but it seems like what we sent was enough. For those who are interested, this is what we sent.
First package:
-lease
-pictures (wedding and trips with friends and family)
-bank statements (shared bank account)
-letters of support from friends
-itinerary showing out flights together in the states and abroad.

USCIS contacted us and asked for more evidence without specifying. So we sent them the following:
-my life inssurance (stating that my wife was entitled to the double of my annual income in case of my death)
-letter of support from a neighbor who attended our wedding and who has known us very closely for more than 2 years.
-a letter from my wife explaining why the utility bills werent included (they were in my wife's name before i came to the states, so there was no point in adding my name)
-blank chech showing both of our names.

USCIS contacted us with the good news last week...it is such a relief...good luck to all those who are waiting.

congratulion :thumb this is great info

Im really in a tough situation right now. I got married in less than 3 months and we decided that it would be better for me to go back to Philippines. We just don’t get along and it has been this way…pretty obvious that we cant do anything about this now. Husband is freaking out….wants me to get the ticket to day and ship me out tomorrow if possible. I haven’t filed for adjustment of status yet and I would to clear this marriage before going back to Philippines if still possible?! What should I do? I know I need a legal advice but its just terrible because I don’t have time left for this and Im totally dependent on him … what would happen to me? To this marriage? Is it possible for him to work on getting a divorce or annulment by his self and with me being in Philippines?

Thank you very much!!!!

PhilippinesFiling a complaint
[quote name='STEPHnRIA' date='Oct 13 2008, 11:00 AM' post='2297956']
If you were treated harshly during the interview, who do you complain to? Especially if there was a three year old child involved.

Things have been piling up in my head. I thought my issues are all about the visa wait. But then I realized my real issues are about my interview at US EMbassy Manila. I still can't get over it. I was traumatized and I really felt so sorry for my son. The fact remains that we were not treated right.

Guys, I need your opinion regarding this matter
[/quoir

i read your post during your interview it was really bad experience i would see its a nightmare!!!!!! i was even crying while i am reading.......
before to take any action you need to think if you are a consul handle your case what well you do and your
reaction and if you think you are really abuse's from the consul well you need to complain to Kristie the ambassador
usem she is the right person and make decision in your case even they are a consul yes sometime they abuse the applicant
if the are suspicion on you. no body perfect and sometime this consul need lesson also to the applicant that they abuse
they are working on us and first requirement pay the application ask the beneficiary we have right to complain if we are not treated properly or abuse the applicant it do sent meant the consul has right for everything you are not the only person has bad experience but the just keep on that from them selves we have right to express our though and feeling god bless

When the going gets rough, remain calm and hopeful! devil.gif

My hubby called the USEM and the status is the same...our cases are yet under DV. I called NSO and was told that due to some technical problems they are having, they are doing the verification manually. Richard called it manual labor, hahaha! With that update, there really is nothing we can do but hope that our documents will be ready for transmittal to the USEM on Friday and the consular review that will follow won't take too long to be done.

I think MJ is right. The USEM is really relaxing its policy on document verification. Grace told my hubby that getting the CENMAR ourselves would help expedite the processing. With that, I endorse JR's advice. Get all the NSO documents that the USEM requires beforehand and submit them independently of the DV thru DELBROS.

Remember, peeps. It is always better to learn from the experiences of others than to learn it ourselves by experiencing them first. Onwards with our journey VJ'ers!

om my god what a bummer doing manual grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr its 6 week or more using computer how much more manual

yes, the st. lukes will be the one who will send those things at the USEM, he need his appointment letter and valid id to get inside at the USEM duirng his interview. good luck.

That's true. If they don't get your passport then your already have problems. I know someone who had his passport returned but his wife's passport was taken. He was told by the CO that he was denied during the interview.

during the medical in st lukes when everything is ok you pass the medical exam they well take your passport in

st lukes forward your medical records including your passport that is standard process don't worry everything is ok.
