Jeanne, THAT PICTURE FREAKS ME OUT!!! unsure.gif
but Jax...that one you got....aww so sweet luv.gif

Annie...sweet pix of the babies..is Nour hair reddish? Please post pix of the bash...how did it go?
You mean to tell me that is your NEW dog? Did you adopt him? He is a nice looking dog but very BIG!
He that your only pet? I am not much for the responsibility of a pet. I can't even make my mind up about a kitten and we had the opportunity for an adorable one, it was free, but I declined. I just can't take on any additional finances or commitments right now sad.gif

I always wondered what color hair our child may have and the texture.. he has that real ethnic jet black, unruly, tight curly, coarse hair and I have straight as a pin, thin, light blonde hair.

Melly thank you for your sweet concern. luv.gif
I could use some positive vibes and extra prayers.

Last week it was my oldest daughter who was sick now it is my youngest. Poor little dear has to miss out on today's festivities because she is in the final week of school and everyday they have a theme and do something really cool with the kids. Thank God she got her audition out of the way for Annie yesterday. I hope she gets the lead role of Annie.
She is so spectacular and has the perfect hair and personality for the part. My little redhead...even at 9 she still managed to keep her color and all the women fuss over it.

Charles, nothing doing today for the movies but last night I saw an old favorite. TRUE ROMANCE. That had quite a bit of top actors in it...Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman (my all time fav), Dennis Hopper, and that guy from Sopranos...what is name oh, James Gandolfini and Brad Pitt, I think both of them had their start in that movie.

Blah Blah Blah....just another day
Last night hubby and I tried a Moroccan place for dinner last night. A little pricey. There are about 3 different ones around here. One is Casablanca, then Marrakech and now this Fez. Well I had been the first 2 and they are without a doubt a wonderful true Moroccan experience. The ambviance, the 7 course meal, the belly dancers, the music, the whole bit but this other place....not good. It was my husband's first time too and I was so excited for him to try a "moroccan" place but you know what it was so lousy..so lousy in fact that I complained about every dish that I tasted and I couldn't even eat the dessert or drink the mint tea and I love both of those things! wow.gif
I was really upset about it. They all serve the standard 7 course thing so I was able to compare it to the others and it just sucked. But we joked and laughed about it....you live and learn. Sometimes it is best not to go out of your way to try new places and just stick to what you know, ya know?

I think that is just terrible what your hubby is enduring at his work.
You know sometimes people think silence = weakness, it isn't true and you know what I may stomach it for a bit but after a while I would have to lash back. It may not be the best thing to do BUT it can make a point to those ignorant racists that he isn't someone to be reckoned with devil.gif

I am dealing with my own set of issues right now. Could be my husband would be returning home soon if things don't straighten out. sad.gif
I think the fact that we can't afford for him to fly there and back has kept him here thus far but we had planned to return in a year from now. He would have been away from home 1 1/2 years. I can't imagine the desire for him to return to the life that he left.

Melly, where did hubby go? unsure.gif

Morning Jackie.

I have some pix on facebook guys. I have always had a heck of a time posting here.

Annie I can't believe you have so many friends expecting and multiples too! I think you just know a ton of people cuz ya so sweet luv.gif
I keep wondering when/if the right time for me to be expecting? unsure.gif
I ain't getting any younger. You are also very lucky to have a partner who helps you. I am still trying to get hubby to be more cooperative. I don't mind but usually when you care about your significant other you want to help them, see them happy and make things easier for them. I also feel that as women we just take the brunt of it and that is why GOD made us cuz we are so awesome. WE ARE....SUPERWOMEN! It does get tiring though.

Well I am signing off for the day.
It has been a busy one here.
Now time for that question I hate, "what's for dinner?

I stabbed my tooth with a knife this morning (on accident - that's what I get for licking the knife). Now I have a filling that wants to fall out, it's all jaggity now! Can't make it to the dentist today since I have to leave work early and see my son at his school. His class is doing a skit on planets. He's Earth star_smile.gif

Anyhow, I'm having on and off tooth pain now....any advice until I can get to the dentist tomorrow?

Morning

Olivia! So good to hear from you. I hope your transition gets smoother. It is no fun being sick in a foreign country.
Do you know what caused this sickness? And so sudden? I am moving into a new apt myself (same building, lil bigger) and we have to clean it after we move stuff out too. I am not looking forward to that.
I know it is hard when you don't know how to cook the Egyptian food and there aren't many resources around for fare like ours. It makes you realize how easy it is for us here and that any kind of concoction constitutes as a meal. It is probably also a little different now that you are living as wifey and having to tackle all those duties, which are the same as here but not always so flexible. Good Luck sweetie good.gif

Rosie, good morning and good luck on the new job.

Staashi! Hey girl, how is motherhood going these days and working? I should read the baby thread to find out.
How old is the little guy now and is he sleeping well? That is great you are going to get away. So far one day trip to the shore for us and another July 3. We can only do day trips due to hubby's work schedule and finances. I can't wait to take at least the weekend getaway.

Mrs.Amera...where is hubby? How long has been gone? PM me if you like, I would like to catch up. smile.gif

Middle East and North AfricaThe Things Men Do For Love....
I am sorry but arranged marriages are NOT for everyone.
There may be some who can be satisfied with the choice their parents make for them, but there are some people who are keen to the idea that they should #1 be given the chance to make their own choices in life #2 know the partner with whom they are going to spend their life with and #3 knowing the partner would give way to choosing and loving them.

This shows again that LOVE will make you do crazy things and when forced into a life long obligation such as marriage or even kept from the one you love, it will end up disastrous.

I hope over time people from this rigid culture can open their minds a little more.

I see this as another Romeo and Juliet.

Amanda

I want to comment on this because I recall myself being so frustrated and upset and when I would hear others say about missing their men or whatever but their husbands ARE here! Sometimes it was hard to rejoice in others' good news when I was going for months without any news at all.

HANG IN THERE!!! YOUR INTERVIEW IS QUICKLY APPROACHING.. YOU ARE IN THE LAST OF IT.
It is so hard to stay optimistic and positive and you just have those days when you can't take anymore of it.
I would cry myself to sleep and worry so much during that time.

It could be worse...you could have gone through all this, waited and hoped and prayed.
Waited for the chance to start your life and be in love and have your hubby here and then find out ohmy.gif it is not going to be the life that you expected sad.gif .

Your time will come Amanda and I will pray for you that GOD give you the strength you need to make it the final round. Chin up sweetie rose.gif

Good Morning

My boss' wife is here today.
She makes my time here so miserable.
i really can't stand her and I don't know why she always treats me like ###### and says some really off the wall, mean , accusatory things to me.
Some think cuz she is the wife and used to be the big cheese here she is jealous of me because I work so closely with her husband.
Her and my hubby should get to talking. He is so suspicious of what goes on here.
He would be happy if I didn't work at all or come into contact with anyone especially men.
Hey if he wants to work that hard and foot all the bills, no problem with me, I would gladly stay at home.
Maybe then my domestic tasks would get done whistling.gif

I am usually so upbeat, I just feel like kaka today! I'm not sick, it's all emotional and mental. Sigh.....please tell me it will get better and you understand this feeling....someone? anyone?

It will get better and I believe all of us understand this feeling. It sucks big time rose.gif

That is what I love about this group. We all know EXACTLY the feelings your having. The days when ur heart just hurts sooo bad and it feels like it will never end. But when you share it...everyone is there to lift u up in encouragement and prayers. What a great group of ladies. I think that ur doing the right thing by remembering that God is in control. It helps to keep u grounded when ur feeling out of control. When you listen to and abide by God's will....u are in His blessings....Hang in there. I try to get hubby to acclimate to the western world but some habits just die hard.

He hasn't suggested installing anything but I have heard of something...others here may know better.

It is rather messy but he resorts to his mena ways in that department. I mean in Maroc their floors are tile and always wet and slippery and dirty and all that. Mother right there cleaning it all up. Well water from shower, I can understand from time to time but the splashing of water due to toileting and putting on hair gel just makes me grossed out.

I know what you mean I don't know how many times our alarm was set off in our 4 floor apt complex.
We are on the 3rd and the sound is dreadful and so deafening.
What a joke the fire dept must think we are . I think out of 5 or 6 times of it being set off, there was actually a real concern when someone was cooking and the smoke set it off.

The personal detectors in our apt itself are so sensitive that if I am cooking or turn on the over they would go off.
I had to disconnect them. They wouldn't shut up! mad.gif

Olive

I had an IUD put in after the birth of my youngest, so that is 9 years now!
EW...that sounds nasty doesn't it but thank GOD I know it has been working all this time.
10 years is the maximum and will be do to redo.
That will be a big decision for us.
Me too, not ready for any babies but as I have posted before my years that I can and want to have a child are winding down. I know plenty of women who go into their 40s and more but I don't think that is for me. My issue is mostly financially and the fact that I don't think my husband is ready. I mean ready to carry on his name but not the responsibility of it all.
Also, I have gained so much weight in the last year I say, I mine as well do it now, get it over with.
Why do I want to kill myself getting so thin again and then having to get big and lose it again.
I dunno. Big dilemma for us right now.
Hubby puts no pressure on me either way. Of course he wants AT LEAST ONE of his own but I think has resorted to the fact that it may indeed not happen especially if he doesn't get his act together here.
I haven't had one iota of a problem with my IUD....thank god for it! good.gif

It isn't my fault I was raised here and things are more convenient. Just because convenience gives way to extra time doesn't mean I have to bog down my extra time with more work wink.gif

Is it still Thursday there? It's Thursday night here so it must be still Thursday there. Hard to believe I've been here 3 weeks. The time is going so fast. Egypt is treating me well though I wish I could kick this bug whatever it is. I took all the medicine but I still get sick feeling now and then especially when I am active. Maybe it's the heat?

i am sure you are not preggers....yet wink.gif

Middle East and North AfricaThursday
Mornin

I think we are in a rain state here. I have never seen so much rain, day after day after day

Terri, good you arrived safely, now go have a ball!! kicking.gif

Rosie I had my time in Maroc when I had to wash our clothes by hand. The washer was broken one time when I was there and I go through so many clothes that I didn't want to stress out his mom. So I attempted it. That is just not right. It is hard work and time consuming. I did though and I did it good.

My husband still gets upset with me when I say "oh I do the laundry" he is like what? You have machines to do it for you..
As if it doesn't count as work whistling.gif Also we have a huge 30 pound comfortable that I told him would have to be dry cleaned and he said he was going to put it in the shower and wash it by hand. I said yeah right go ahead and try that. First of all it is too big, secondly once the water saturates it will be so heavy and bulky you won't be able to ring it out..and NO NO it won't work. But you know, men, they know it all, right?

Boss' wife here today, so I have to keep it low.
I swear she sticks around just to make my life miserable here. mad.gif

Middle East and North AfricaHapppppy FRIDAY!!!
Mornin....the sun is coming back slowly but surely

Kelz..hi dear....good luck with your schooling, as someone said, school, to me is not easy to accomplish especially when you are working full time with a husband and toddler. I dont know if I could ever go back, honestly.

HLM I LOVE INDIAN FOOD and so does my 9 year old daughter I can actually cook it quite well too. I had lived there for about 5 months.

Maureen...DETROIT GOING FOR THE CUP??? Is tonight the final game?? my god I am such a slacker, I didnt even watch but 1/2 of one Flyers game all season. It has been about 4 or 5 years since I have been to a game either.
I need to think about tickets for next season already. I think hubby would like it. He didn't like baseball much plus he said alot are not even really paying attention. I told him the game is slow and that is just another excuse to sit around, chit chat and drink...oh and everyone once in a while get up, cheer or WAVE..lol

Jeanne...please don't utter that dreadful word, cold. I would be happy never to have cold, ever.

Angel....hubby is coming in 14 days!!! WOW getting close, do you have a lot to do? It is so nice when they come and see all the trinkets, spices and goodies they have brought. Hubby brought a lot of surprises one of which was a very high quality bit of saffron, which I needed....needless to say it was wrapped in a small section of newspaper and got tossed with all the other newspaper that was protecting the delicate items....he still gets on me about that one. I just was so excited finally opening gifts from him I threw all the paper about and then just picked it up and threw it away.
Poor saffron never even made it to the cooking pot. blush.gif

Seattle gang..have fun...do everything I can't do ok....lol

Amanda, I thought it was today. Good God you still have to wait out the weekend! whistling.gif
GOOD LUCK GIRL, can't wait to read the update.

I saw an excellent movie Tues...Gran Torino
and another last night HOTEL RAWANDA..so good. very emotional and sad to see what really goes on in the world that most are oblivous to.
watched the Wrestler with hubby, was up till 4am blink.gif but that was OK, nothing special
Poor Mickey Rourke only looks a hair like what he used to...you can barely tell it is him AND his voice is completely different too. Anyone know what the story is with him?
