Middle East and North Africa	For those of you who stayed with your SO for an extended amount of time overseas...	lucky you to be spending so much time in India. I dunno what to say about insurance....good thing to have esp if you have issues. I traveled and survived just fine without insurance for years upon years. I know once you have it you are scared without it and I did get a rash from the dust over there too but you know what you can find the exact same meds there and so darn cheap. Middle East and North Africa	Wednesday, May 20th	Mornin Ladies...and Charles It is a beautiful day today, it is going to even warmer than yesterday, thank god. i am ready for the full blown heat! no plans for the holiday weekend. Supposed to go to the beach for the day with hubby for the first time Monday. It shouldnt be a problem getting there but driving back could be hours long getting home. I have been waiting for nice weather so we could go and bask in the sun. Since hubby is from the coast and minutes from the ocean he has been bugging to see our ocean. It will take us 2 hours to go to our destination. I can't believe it is almost lunch soon. YEAH. I would like us to keep ZARQA in our prayers OMG DANCIN WITH THE STARS WAS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!! Thank God I didnt even watch it...that trophy should have definitely gone to either Gilles or Michelle. Middle East and North Africa	Thursday	Good Afternoon MENA Members! It is hot here today, but not too bad. I like it actually. I know I need to start thinking about an AC unit that I dont have yet but will need. Tasha....you and me gotta stick like glue...k this is pour vous Somedays you just wanna throw da towel in Maureen my son has been buggin about his permit (he was 16 in Feb) but whatever I say the other side just goes over my head. I think the permit is fine if you are keeping up your grades and being respectful at home and showing responsibility. My son is not. His grandfather already gave him his test run out in Wyoming in March. I dont mind him letting him test run, the man is like his father, but, when the a..hole took my son behind my back to get his permit trying to forge signatures and #######...well that is taking things a bit too far. May you rest well and know the time when you are ready to let your son drive. I dont think even 18 year olds are quite ready to drive....nerve wracking for sure Staashi....how's motherhood and how are you guys and Enzo adjusting to the working life of mama? Middle East and North Africa	Tuesday	My middle child, Mia uses a straightener, oh say about the last 2 years (at least). Her hair became a bird's nest. I hate my hair because it is so straight. Her hair is wavy and so pretty but she killed it. Combine that with the pool chemicals in the summer and it is a travesty. As they say..you always want what you don't have. I have straight hair and really wish it wasn't so straight. I can't do anything with it. Barely holds a perm if I get one. My girls have great hair thank god. Thick and wavy. Middle East and North Africa	Tuesday	Malek...get better baby boy JESS!!!!!!!!!!! Love that picture of the baby! Your week sounds alot like ours...yesterday was our day trip to the beach (about 2 hours from here) tomorrow hubby is going to fill out an application for a new job (PRAY FOR US!) and at night we have the Phillies' game both my hubby and youngest daughter's first thursday I have to go sit with my grandmom (my new job 1x a week to help out the fam) Friday hubby is going to have one of his dreams come true...to see his fav guitarist live in concert! Saturday we have a free and totally awesome healthy kids day at CHOP hospital in Philadelphia. I wanted to post that our beach trip did off without a hitch...everything was perfect. We actually got started on the journey about 7 45 am. The weather was delightful but don't use spf 15 when you are extremely fair and sitting out in the sun for 5 hours I did get sunburn I thought hubby was sun proof but believe it or not, even with his tough dark skin, he got some sunburn on his knees, shins and toes OUCH We have a gloomy day here in PA wishing you all a great rest of your tuesday and thank GOD we are nearly 1/2 way through the week already Edited by sandrila, 26 May 2009 - 01:22 PM. Good Luck on the job search. I was lucky when my husband was about to come my past employer had already told me he would hook him up with a job. It was an easy in considering he had no real work history especially not in the states. He started at minimum and has already gotten a small promotion after 5 months there. Middle East and North Africa	phone bills	I had the same problem. I always used phone cards and I had a phone company that did not send a bill with international calls listed on it. I found out that I had to go to their ONLINE site and see my call history and print it from there, which didn't do me much good because at that point I needed records from 8-12 months prior and well they only keep them as far back as 3 months. I did keep every phone card I bought, which was a ton and if you look on your call history you may not have your SO's exact number listed but that 800# or whatever # you dial when using the phone card is there with the amount of time you spent talking. HLM...per yestedays post...thanks for your well wishes...much appreciate sweetie and I hope you feeling well in your pregnancy. Jax....that is very nice about the gift, you say you know what it is..what is it?? I just found out one friend was over in Maroc and I kick myself for not knowing before. I would have given her some cash to pick me up a few things....ah,let's see...OLIVES......for one. Annie, my mother has developed a craziness for boxers. She bought a pure bred one from a puppy, and she died a year ago, within a week she adopted another like 2 years old and then like 4 months later, she found another and now she is up to 2. She loves them. I didn't know they were known to be so kid friendly. You know hubby is very partial to his very authentic mother's moroccan cooking. I haven't eaten too many "moroccan" things extensively but even I am a fair judge of something that is good and something that is really lousy. It is really disappointing when the restaurant gets put to the test of a true moroccan visiting the restaurant and they come out feeling very disappointed and wondering if this place is moroccan, how come no one making the food is?? lol I told them it was really a let down and they can't compare to the other 2 places I have been. We will eventually try one of the other 2 together and he can at least see that the food is good, maybe not like mom's but it passes the taste buds anyway yes amanda, you would be on edge the night before and day of but with help of Jax, hostess with the mostess you will be in good hands and having a great time to take your mind of your anxiety! my little girl is off to the orthodontist. She definitely needs braces. Now she is at the age to start and they are going to just evaluate her and see what needs to be done. You know how some kids "want" to have braces, she doesn't and she is a little nervous about it. Please post pix of the bash...how did it go? You mean to tell me that is your NEW dog? Did you adopt him? He is a nice looking dog but very BIG! He that your only pet? I am not much for the responsibility of a pet. I can't even make my mind up about a kitten and we had the opportunity for an adorable one, it was free, but I declined. I just can't take on any additional finances or commitments right now I always wondered what color hair our child may have and the texture.. he has that real ethnic jet black, unruly, tight curly, coarse hair and I have straight as a pin, thin, light blonde hair. Melly thank you for your sweet concern. I could use some positive vibes and extra prayers. Last week it was my oldest daughter who was sick now it is my youngest. Poor little dear has to miss out on today's festivities because she is in the final week of school and everyday they have a theme and do something really cool with the kids. Thank God she got her audition out of the way for Annie yesterday. I hope she gets the lead role of Annie. She is so spectacular and has the perfect hair and personality for the part. My little redhead...even at 9 she still managed to keep her color and all the women fuss over it. Charles, nothing doing today for the movies but last night I saw an old favorite. TRUE ROMANCE. That had quite a bit of top actors in it...Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman (my all time fav), Dennis Hopper, and that guy from Sopranos...what is name oh, James Gandolfini and Brad Pitt, I think both of them had their start in that movie. Blah Blah Blah....just another day Last night hubby and I tried a Moroccan place for dinner last night. A little pricey. There are about 3 different ones around here. One is Casablanca, then Marrakech and now this Fez. Well I had been the first 2 and they are without a doubt a wonderful true Moroccan experience. The ambviance, the 7 course meal, the belly dancers, the music, the whole bit but this other place....not good. It was my husband's first time too and I was so excited for him to try a "moroccan" place but you know what it was so lousy..so lousy in fact that I complained about every dish that I tasted and I couldn't even eat the dessert or drink the mint tea and I love both of those things! I was really upset about it. They all serve the standard 7 course thing so I was able to compare it to the others and it just sucked. But we joked and laughed about it....you live and learn.
