IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMEDICAL DOCUMENTATION FOR CR1 INTERVIEW
My husband just had his medical exam for the K3 Visa.
Now the same day he has K3 in hand, he gets interview for CR1 wacko.gif

Does anyone know what exact papers you need to take with you for the CR1 interview?
All he has is the vaccination record.
I read somewhere that you need to bring a SEALED envelope from the doctor with vaccination record and Xrays to the CR1 interview.

Can anyone verify this?
I cant imagine him having to go thru his examination all over again when he just had it, xrays and all.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMoroccan cases please respond
My case is CR1
My husband in Morocco for his interview May 15th.
Of course I paid the application processing fee $380 in the beginning.
I am just need to know how much he needs the day of the interview. Some say just the $20 balance...is this true?
Because at K3 interview he had to pay $131.00 dollars..so I just dont want to be surprised by any additional fees.
Also, will he get fingerprinted, if so, does he need to pay for that?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMAJOR DILEMMA...PLEASE HELP!
How is it possible that on the day my husband receives his K3 visa from consulate in Morocco that he then receives his interview for CR1 THE SAME DAY???

My attorney advises him to STAY THERE, he says it is best to finish it now, cheaper, smarter...BUT
I am desperate to get him here, as we all are to be reunited with our loved ones.

I dont know #1...can I cancel the interview there..fly him here and finish things here
#2...let him stay and RISK him staying much longer due to additional processing
(let's face it, it is likely)
#3...I am worried that cancelling this appointment may "look bad" and make things
harder once he comes
I really need some input
Thank you

QUOTE (ed_and_sue @ Apr 25 2008, 07:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi guys!

i called the nvc last wednesday. our i-129 was finally forwarded to the embassy... while for i-130, the 3230 and aos were generated.

as per nvc staff, it's okay to process the two petitions at the same time, since they will generate different visas.

personally, i'd be happy to receive whichever visa so i can be with my hubby soon... i'm not really picky! he he he... never mind if it'll cost me an additional 1k for aos!

oh well, things happen for a reason.... let's see what will happen next.

Here's a kicker!
K3 approved first..interview came...got visa...same day CR1 interview package came..
so my husband could literally come here but now has to stay back until May 15th interview..UNBELIEVABLE! huh.gif Attorney advised he stay there and get it all finished up, it will save time, aggravation and money...I just hope CR1 goes as smooth as K3

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresINTERVIEW TOMORROW
It has taken 11 months, since petitioning for my husband, for him to get his interview in Casablanca.
Both our petitions were filed one month apart and the interviews have also been one month apart.
As I had stated a month ago, we were ELATED for him to receive the K3 visa on April 10th BUT
that very same day, he received his interview packet for the CR1...we waited it out the month and now the day is here...yep hubby will be interviewing again for the 2nd time in Casa in less than 6 hours.
I have seen so many people blessed with being reunited with their loved ones. PLEASE GOD WE ARE READY...I MISS YOU BABY.....GOOD LUCK...ALL IS GOING TO COME GOOD.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical info for Morocco
# just make sure you bring good money
# it can take anywhere from 3-6 hours
# bloodwork, basic exam, vaccinations, paperwork, xrays is all standard
# bring all your necessary documentation. appointment letter, passport, passport photos (2), money
# you can go to the link listed above too
everybody's story here helps another

my only advice is to ask ?s always, about everything and anything
especially get YOUR own copy of vaccination and whatever other records you can get a hold of
are you responsible for taking the paperwork to the Consulate or does the examining doctor send it ?

good luck

Aren't we always the ones to take on the load?
If he doesn't care about his own case....then?
Yes give him a deadline SOONER than you really need it, that way if he delays you will still have time.
I am sorry to hear of your frustrations but you will quickly learn you are not alone in having to deal with them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTroubles with Potential Co-sponsors
Our co sponsor was not a family either.
All they want to see is that they can add the support and credibility that is needed to vouche for the SO.

It is a difficult position to be in. I worried so much about that too because my family would have never considered helping for the same reasons alot are leary of.
I just thank GOD I was blessed with our co sponsor's understanding, willingness, support and well wishes. luv.gif
It wouldn't have been possible without her.

IMO I don't think it is a decision to be taken lightly (and I knew that going in) and from what I understand they (co sponsor) are just as responsible and liable as the petitioner is. Although signing is free, there is always a risk that things could go sour, in which case, the dishonesty or lack of sincerity on part of the SO, would reflect back on the sponsor/co sponsor. unsure.gif

Wow, Sister! I am so sorry things did not work out for you. I wish you well and I sincerely mean this.

Thank you so much! I just found out from my uncle that it's common knowledge back where I'm from that Arab men are lazy. I didn't know that! I thought it was just my husband! Is that true?

Sorry to hear that you are going through this.

I would have to say that there are plenty of lazy, selfish men who have preyed on women.

I would have to say as far as us being women, we are going to bear the brunt of alot of responsibilities
that men never bother to assist with and/or they think it's not their duty.

I wouldn't say that I know "Arab men are lazy".
I think it goes without saying that you feel very hurt and bitter.

I think it is logical to say there are differences in our relationships with foreign men as opposed to American men, BUT there are good men out there. Not all Arabs can be lumped in the same category. I have seen just as many disfunctional leeches as I have heard about those men who are loving, respectful, supportive and treat their women with dignity and equality.

I think one of the main things is giving yourself time to get to know your spouse/fiancee. It really does take a lot of time and the differences in culture and lifestyles really can impact that dynamic of our relationship with "Arab" men, however, people are people no matter where they are from and right is right/wrong is wrong. You just cannot prepare or predict what the outcome will be once your SO gets here and you actually live together in real life/real time.

You are not alone either. Plenty of women have been taken for a ride, have made sacrifices and have been greatly wronged by these men, who they have done everything for.

We have to be the strong women we are and identify the problems, try to resolve them and if they are not going to get resolved or another is unyielding, as far as changing for the sake of the marriage, well you need to be strong enough to walk away from it.

Some men are just jerks. Some have just been babied and pampered by their mothers. Some don't have any experience with any sort of relationship at all before marrying the American SO.

One thing that boggles my mind about these "using" men is that in their country they NEED to be able to provide for their wife, prior to marriage. I was under the impression that before a family gives their daughter to a man they have to bring something to the table. In their own country they are required to take care of their wife and family, then some come here and just withhold their money, refuse to contribute or just put their own needs in front of their family's it just blows my mind how the standards they are "supposed" to live up to back home, just get swept under the rug when they come here. Maybe it is because they don't have any accountability. I.E. Back home they would have their own parents, family members and society to pass judgement on them when they see what they may or may not be doing.

Despite most of the bad outcomes I have heard, I do still believe there are some really good "Arab" men and husbands who do the right thing by their wives.

In general I would say...save each and every document...anything and everything (phone records and emails) you can "paperwise" "picture wise" as proof that you were together, communicate regularly and are planning a future.

HAVE FAITH IN GOD. IF IT IS MEANT TO BE IT WILL BE. PRAYING DOES WONDERS.

Follow all instructions given by USCIS/Consulate to the LETTER!

Make copies of everything for yourself...2 is very smart....you will find you use the same documents over and over
people fret over actual originals (which some are required) but most suffice as copies.

Be honest....think of any and every question that has to do with each of you, your families, your past and background.
Quite honestly this happens as part of the "getting to know you" phase of your relationship anyhow. tongue.gif
We made a game out of it and I would very often quiz him just to make sure he knew and wouldnt forget.
We stressed about the interrogation too much and honestly after 2 interviews, one for K3 the other CR1, they asked maybe 5 pertinent questions.
Nothing tricky or complicated in the least.
Be straight foward and confident!

Utilitizing your congressman or state rep....like senator definitely will help.
If you can remember this when road blocks arise or the wait is getting long....you need documentation and a letter of consent to proceed but it is so worth it and I still feel that their involvement with us helped expediate if not draw attention to our case.

Prepare yourself that there are no guarantees.
Everyone's situation is completely different and the time frame is totally unpredictable.
Just be prepared to wait and also prepare for the dreaded, 221 g, some are very lucky to escape this ungodly form but even in the midst of your darkness, remember, things will come to fruition and under normal circumstances and even some seemingly complicated, you will get that visa!

Stay positive, keep busy and try not to sweat the small stuff.
I know easier said than done wink.gif GOOD LUCK AGAIN TO ALL THE PEEPS WAITING...
