Middle East and North AfricaRegistering a US marriage in Morocco
QUOTE (AlHayatZween @ Sep 14 2009, 09:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We have not been able to successfully register our marriage from here because the Moroccan Consulate here changed its regulations in February of 2009. sad.gif We are hoping to bring all our marriage documents from here in the US to Morocco this summer and register directly there... inchallah. It could prove really difficult seeing as we are expecting our first little bundle of joy in a few months....

Please let me know if you find any news!

Is that right?

Congratulations dear luv.gif

I just thought of my own name, many people SOOOOOO butcher it! I can't tell ya how many times I've been called Share-eef-ahh! My poor boy suffers from it too. People call him, Ta-reek, but it's really pronounced Tar-rick. Oh the joys of Middle Eastern names

Oh and UmmS, I've had the name Jennah chosen for a future daughter since I was like 12 years old. We are talking over 20 years ago! Anywho, it can't hurt to have more then one Jennah in the world since it's such a beautiful name.

since hubby's arrival he gets Ta-reek too tongue_ss.gif

Hubby has made it clear that he is naming the child.

I have no problem with an Arabic name if it isn't too hard to pronounce

I myself would like a combo of arabic/american....like first/middle name.

so far his ideas:

Malak......means angel (girl)

Nizar (Nazar)....spelling I am not sure (boy)

I like Niko (kneeko)....boy....that has been pretty much ruled out mad.gif

Honestly I don't know
we did a run down at one time and all my arabic choices he didn't like

grew up on that wedding soup (my family's style) as it comes in so many variations.

I love RAFISA....I haven't made it yet, isn't hubby's favorite but thanks for reminding me.
I think the bread part and shredding of it is probably time consuming.

i haven't stopped by here in a way long time and to see the subject of Argan oil is cool because I first heard of this oil in a RAM flight magazine and I questioned hubby about it while over there.

He said it was very expensive and so it is.

It took me forever but I found it!
In a gourmet Italian market with olives and cheeses and all kinds of oils.

I wanted it so badly...it was 1/2 price...from 40 to 20! So I picked it up.
I want to get it from Morocco itself but for now at least I have it.

I have used it in place of regular olive oil. I haven't noticed much difference in taste but did wonder for what receipes you use it ??

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow long does it take for cr1 visa interview to be issued after nvc approval of case??
i think it is important to realize that you cant set your hopes on any time frame

there is none
every situation is so different

there are also no guarantees
unfortunately, like all who have gone before, you just have to do everything to letter and wait

certainly utilize all your options
but as hard as it is ....you need to keep lots of patience

good luck on your journey..i know it is not easy

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAnxiety from more waiting...
anxiety and despair are key words i would use to describe how i am feeling
we waited nearly a year to finally receive a K3 visa in our hand
when we finally received K3, the interview packet for CR1 visa came the same exact day, HOW CAN THAT HAPPEN

now forced with taking K3 or moving on with CR1, the attorney advised waiting out the CR1
now it's been 3 months since the CR1 interview and we are in AP

the black hole is getting blacker and kicking ourselves for forgoing the K3
now we dont know if or when he will get CR1 visa in hand

the part that scares me is that what I see is people just waiting indefinitely
you could get yours in a matter of days or as long as years
it is so unfair and it does take it's toll

i am praying everyday
good luck to all still waiting like we are

QUOTE (dadiss @ Sep 16 2008, 01:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi all,
I need your help VJs. I got a K3 visa a month ago and I am currently in the US, My CR1 interview has been scheduled for October 23th. I am thinking about going back home for the interview to get the CR1 visa, which I know is far better than the K3, and will save me the hassle of AOS. My worry is that they may cancel my K3 visa during the interview and a worse scenario of having to deal with the AP.
Does any one had or know about a similar situation, is it a common process to cancel an already given K3 visa during the interview or not?
Also do you know if I have to take the medical exam for the new CR1 interview knowing that I just had one for the K3 visa two months ago.
Note that my case is very simple; I have no financial worries or any special circumstances, just the worry from a bad consular officer.
Thanks for the help

they cancelled my husband's K3 at the consulate on the spot.
Also we had the same ? we just did medical exam for K3 so what about CR1 interview, which was just a month later?
well we werent sure if you could use it, after all they are 2 different visas
we went ahead and did the medical thing over again, just to be safe, you never know with this numnuts
turns out, we didnt need to and we wasted our time and money
what else is new mad.gif

thanks to a friend I am responding to this post
i have an identical situation as you
my husband received his K3 visa on April 10, 2008 ON THE SAME DAY he got his interview packet/interview date for CR1
it was an agonizing decision however, with the advice of the lawyer, he gave up his K3 visa persue the CR1
we had no idea what was going to happen
he had the visa (and ticket out of hell for one month)
ultimately it was my call as to what we would do
yes, the lawyer said waiting for CR1 was way better but I was extremely concerned about AP
we got AP for 12 days with K3
now we have been waiting 4 months in AP for CR1
we feel hopeless and helpless
if i could do it again, I would have brought him here IMMEDIATELY on K3, no questions
and if money is not an issue, just do the things here
i thought a K3 was only good for 4-6 months..IT IS GOOD FOR 2 years
the DOS representative just laughed at me and told me to sue my lawyer for such misguidance
now what is the hold up? he got one visa but under such scrutiny for the other
it just has been a total upset
i would recommend taking your chance with K3 ...AP is almost inevitable.
good luck
any info on your situation would surely help me as well
thank you

my lawyer told me not to get too excited but then I swear I have gotten more accurate information from you guys than anyone.
I am calling DOS today to find out the status and see what they say.
Dont you think, when you give your case number and a detailed message regarding the situation that they would only respond, even via email, with accurate info??
I just want a little hope, please god

the lawyer also stated "interview scheduling"..but the email says further processing
if he is scheduled for "interview" is that just to get the visa or another interview??

I requested the help of congressman and senator. I am not sure if it helps at all cuz they keep getting the same responses I do. I did do though. It is best that you really think about what you want to say and state your dissatisfaction to the letter. I felt so much better when I did.

I know about spending a ton of money copying, translating, gathering and sending documents...it is too tidious, worrisome and expensive. THIS WHOLE PROCESS IS..nada one of those CO's give a rat's behunkus for us.

So I finally got a copy of my husband's Form, it must be an older version or maybe newer.. Not sure, but it has the most Harsh wording on it, no wonder my husband thought the worst.

Beside it stateing that:

X Section 221(g) which prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act or regulations issued pursuant thereto. The following remarks apply in your case*

Your application requires administrive processing and/or additional clearance. Our office will call you as soon as this processing is complete. If you do not hear from us within 10 weeks of your application, you may send an email to check on the status of your case.

*WARNING: IF YOU FAIL TO TAKE THE ACTION REQUESTED WITHIN ONE YEAR FOLLOWING VISA DENIAL UNDER SECTION 221(G) OF THE IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY ACT SECTION 223(G) OF THE ACT REQUIRES THAT YOUR APPLICATION BE CANCELLED.

Has anyone else receieved this type of form? it's not blue, but plain white....

Nita

well he got a white one too that stated all the same things in it...EXCEPT hearing from them within 10 weeks and emailing...it has been 5months in AP, and I have bombarded them with emails not only from me, but from the congressman, senator and attorney as well..I mean for a while you sit back and wait, then you start to feel like you arent doing enough..now I feel there is nothing we can do.
Also I dont remember seeing this WARNING..however, let me make sure and check that
and my husband got 221g 2x...one time for 12 days for K3 (he got that visa) and now 5months

Did he enter on his CR1? He should receive his green card in the mail soon. At the point he is a conditional permanent resident, read the stamp they gave him at his POE. I am not sure how old he is, but if he's under 26 he should register for selective services. Also in the future you'll need to file to removed conditions.

Now to answer your question, he he can travel with the conditional green card. He is still required to meet the stipulations set in maintaining his permanent resident status. The following should help you: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD
