Hey Peeps

BETSY kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif wonderful news...that was painless, right? tongue.gif good.gif

Maureen...I would have loved to watch Leno last night and esp with Kanyae on there...wasn't it Jay Z and Rhianna too?
Well anyway we still have yet to set up cable in our new apt...I WANT MY CABLE...however I am not finding any good deals...COMCAST is just a rip off and I really don't want another bill unsure.gif

Beautiful Beautiful weather we are having!!! star_smile.gif

Did any of you see I LOVE YOU, MAN?
It is hysterical, hubby and I watched it last night.

I have 2 weeks worth of back to school meetings and I dread it.
It is such a waste of time, mostly just the same old updates they give every year.
Now if we could just skip the general school speil and just meet the teacher I could be in and out.

Charles I think I see Wolverine...I haven't seen any X MEN before but this one looks good.
So I will want to rent that one and you would think I would want to see It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia since I live there but I haven't even seen one episode of it.

Middle East and North AfricaRamadan and related dates
My calendar said sundown Aug 21...which means fasting begins 22nd (Sat)

To end it says EID is Sunday 20th.

Fasting ends 19th, right?
Does EID follow the 2nd day of fasting.?

Middle East and North AfricaCo-Sponsor Question....
Our co sponsor was not a family either.
All they want to see is that they can add the support and credibility that is needed to vouche for the SO.

It is a difficult position to be in. I worried so much about that too because my family would have never considered helping for the same reasons alot are leary of.
I just thank GOD I was blessed with our co sponsor's understanding, willingness, support and well wishes.
It wouldn't have been possible without her.

IMO I don't think it is a decision to be taken lightly (and I knew that going in) and from what I understand they (co sponsor) are just as responsible and liable as the petitioner is. Although signing is free, there is always a risk that things could go sour, in which case, the dishonesty or lack of sincerity on part of the SO, would reflect back on the sponsor/co sponsor.
SandrilaFemaleMorocco2009-09-16 09:55:00
Middle East and North Africaco-sponsor question
I know my co sponsor did not include her husband's income or pay stubs.
Their tax returns were joint so he did show on that.
She got his approval of course but all she did was fill out the immigration forms required, as requested, submit paystubs, employment verification and tax return for last 2-3 years.

Good Luck good.gif

Debating on whether to go home early and just rest.

Betsy, as others have said, I remember my hubby telling me he wanted it to be just he and me.
My girlfriend was the only one who came to the airport, she drove me there and us home b/c I was too nervous.
I remember her wanting to take us out for some real american fare and he declined.
With jetlag and a mad rush for the toilet whistling.gif

I thought at first I SHOULD have my daughter with me to greet him then I thought, and not to sound mean,
but I wanted to share that moment just he and me and didn't want any other distractions or concerns.
It worked out well. GOD HAS IT BEEN 10 months already??? ohmy.gif
Lucky for me too, I took off like 4 days, around the weekend and I rescheduled my weekend visit with my little girl for another so that we could have nearly a week to ourselves....we did stop by to see the kids like a day or two after his arrival and that seemed to work well for everyone.

Betsy, this is such an exciting time for you both.
I think the obvious things to start with are to get all your cleaning done so you can relax the last week before he comes.
Cleaning stinks and there was so much I wanted to do and have ready for him. It is the beginning of a new life.
I had some clothes and toiletries waiting for him. I had prepared some "american" type foods for us to have for dinner so I wouldn't have to take time to cook them when we were just reunited. I made sure to have the house stocked up with all his favorites and some new things for him to try. Mostly you will be just so overcome with happiness and emotion that you won't feel like doing much of anything devil.gif
Enjoy this time, it will go fast...before you know it you will be heading to the airport.
Good Luck kicking.gif

Sick today peeps.
Last night was the worst (as I haven't been in a long time). I was in bed by 9 30pm.
I took only Tylenol and I was ok enough to get into work today.
If I feel any crappier today, I will leave early.

Dreary day. Sun trying to peep out.
We had rain all day and night yesterday too. On/off really but quite dreary.
Cold too!!!!!!! Brrrr

Starting to think of what the plan is for the weekend.
I know my sister and I are taking our girls to the Aquarium. Poor hubby has to work.

I have to say....YEAH CONGRATS to all of you who participated in Ramadan.
One more day to go good.gif kicking.gif

Good Morning

I am going on day #3 of sickness.
High fever, chills, body ache, headache and coughing so hard my chest hurts unsure.gif
So I came into work today cuz I have a project to work on and then I am going home. I hope by lunch.
I did not want to get out of bed this morning at all.
I am hurtin' sad.gif

Sandrila that sounds like the flu. Shouldn't you stay home so no one else gets it? Do they test for the swine flu anymore or do they just suggest staying away? I'd be kicked out of the office if I were that sick but then again I work in a healthcare company. I hope you feel better soon but seriously I think you should go home and your boss should understand that you're sick.

I was thinking about that when I took the shuttle the other day. There was a woman who works on a different floor than me and I swear she had the flu. I was like why is she here???? In the school system we're not allowed to even have a sibling go to school if another child is sick. They have to stay home for 7 days since it's assumed they have it too.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything but this is a good example of how this has become a pandemic illness.

You know Bridget, you would think blink.gif
Wed and Thurs it hit me hard after work...during the day I seem to pep up more
there has just been so much to do and of course because my boss is behind, i pay the price
I am still here
I TOLD HIM how sick I was
everyone knows it, even people on the phone can hear it but I am still here
so much for even going home early
Here I am thinking of my boss' needs before my own
That is why they are SICK days/PERSONAL days..I don't think people take them based on what is best for the boss mad.gif

My girlfriend works in hospital too and she is all going nuts over the swine/flu vaccination
I have never had a flu shot but when I find when/where I can get one, I will good.gif

Middle East and North AfricaSupporting your s/o through the big change...
My husband's situation was not the same as yours.
He was more than eager to leave his situation back home in Maroc and although he misses
his family he realizes he needs his wife and a good life more than anything.
His mother is older and sick too and I know he worries about something happening to her but
he is not the only child. He has 4 other brothers and sister.

I congratulate your hubby for his success there and I am sure that it is very scary to
leave all that. He won't walk into an already "established" life here and he needs to be aware of that.
In alot of ways it will be starting over.
He may have to resign to the fact that he will have to take whatever job he can get, sadly.
If he gets a job he should count himself very lucky.
I think it is terrible his parents are putting a guilt trip on him for leaving.
They should desire to see him be happy and have the chance for a great life with the woman he loves.

I hope you two can pray on it.
Talk it all out and weigh the pros and cons.
It is a give/give situation and I hope you can come to some resolution so you can begin your lives together.

Those of you to the north and midwest, who get it really bad, I feel sorry for you even though you have some of the most incredible scenery I could never tolerate your winters there.

I am excited for Dancin with the Stars but not so excited about the cast.

Guys due to my sickness I haven't had a smoke since 5 pm last Wednesday. Wish me luck, I am going to quit this habit.

You can't live life on "what ifs"

Anything is possible.
Nothing is 100% and we all risk either being used or having our heart broken.
We hope/pray we are making the right decision so you gotta take the good info with da scary info and go with it.
