Although hubby and I are together now in the States, we were separated for nearly 3 years.

First meeting 3 weeks in 2006

After 4 months....2nd trip for 2 months 2006-2007

One month later......3rd trip for 5 weeks March-April 2007

10 1/2 long months and back again for 3 weeks Feb-March 2008

After 8 1/2 long months VISA approved and back in baby's arms kicking.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 interview?
Well I can tell you what happened with us.
We applied CR/1 and of course followed with K3.

K3 came first as suspected.
Interview...12 days AP.

The day they issued his K3 visa to him the interview packet came for CR/1.

WHAT TO DO?? unsure.gif
take the K3 and run OR wait out the CR1 interview and another immeninent AP.
Oh the lawyer told us....since you are at the crossroads here wait for the CR1 visa...saves you money and more headaches when he comes.

MY GOD how we felt passing that K3 up. So uncertain but you know what in the end it was worth it.
He came with the greencard and now all we have to do is Remove Conditions in a little less than a year.

Good Luck good.gif HOWEVER I suggest if you he does get the K3....let him come on it no sense in waiting any longer or taking any chances.

I wonder what would happen if i fired my lawyer
DOS told me I should sue him over him advising my husband not to come on his K3...making him wait the month for the CR1 interview and now still waiting in AP OVER THERE rather than here!! OMFG!!!!
I am seriously thinking about some kind of action but I tell you this, IT IS ALL IN GOD'S hands....and you cant be guilty of being stupid for somethings you dont know about.
LIVE AND LEARN
and certainly this site has informed me immensely, more than that idiot lawyer
now I know why everyone grumbles and frowns about LAWYERS!!!!!!!

SandrilaFemaleMorocco2008-07-25 11:38:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLawyers
I really felt it would be best to have a lawyer, but after what we have gone through it would have just been better to do it ourselves..I guess if you want to save yourself the redtape and confusion of the all the paperwork and applications, you can have a lawyer solely to do that BUT we have had problems with our lawyer too. YOU LIVE AND YOU LEARN!
It has been such a disappointment to have given all I have financially to someone who doesnt even seem to working.
#1 mistakes on the information that was submitted on our paperwork was completely overlooked by our lawyer, who, I thought, was supposed to be hired to pay attention to detail, failed to even notice a very big mistake that was written on our paperwork and then later transferred and submitted to the government. I mean if all our DOCUMENTS state the proper information how could the lawyer or even his secretary not pick up on the mistake???? NOT DOING THEIR JOB

#2 NOT BEING INFORMATIVE, I agree that, being new to all this, I didnt know diddley about this process...he was so uncooperative with filling me in FULLY about what was happening or what would happen in the future. We just assume this man knows the ins and outs of every step in this process and that he will help us to be completely involved and enlightened so we can best prepare ourselves...AGAIN, NOT DOING THEIR JOB!

#3 I felt at times our lawyer was irritated with the amount of questions I asked....INSENSITIVE

#4 It was "standard" procedure for us to apply for the K3 Visa immediately after filing our CR1 petition. According to the lawyer, the CR1 takes sooooooo long and the K3 would come much more soon and then we could be reunited and finish AOS here in US....LONG STORY SHORT....K3 took just as long...but the interview came March 2008....12 days AP...VISA IN HAND April 10, 2008...OK
BUT we got Visa in hand for K3 and the interview date for CR1 ON THE SAME EXACT DAY!!!!!!
NOW WHAT?????????? Our attorney advised us to forgo the K3 and finish the CR1...WHAT??? that means my husband has to wait the extra month till CR1 interview (with visa to USA already in hand) and then PRAY he doesnt wait in this black hole any longer after the interview.... mad.gif AP PROCESS AGAIN FOR CR1..now hubby has K3 taken away from him and now it has been 2 months since his CR1 interview....ALL THIS AFTER THE BLEEPIN LAWYER TOLD US WE WANT THE k3 because it will be so quick and we can finally be together...I FOUGHT WITH THIS MAN....I told him NO WAY WAITING FOR CR1 there....we have our chance we got to run with it..and the lawyer made me feel stupid...he was irritated with me...didnt want to take time...blahblahblah..we didnt know what was best...just all the time trusting this stupid putz....Now here we are crying because we dont know when we will see each other again and he could have been here 3 months ago...and for those of you with a Moroccan spouse, you know how hard their life is there..you know how we just want closure, we want to start our life together.....SO I LISTENED TO THIS LAWYER AND HE ###### US!!! NOT DOING HIS JOB

#5 Time and time again I felt I was doing my own work, not the lawyer. I felt he couldnt be bothered and didnt bat an eyelash about us having to "Wait it out"...unbelievable...and all the wasted money to apply for K3 and all the way up to the interview, all the money and patience..just thrown out the window. I felt like I took it upon myself to find ANY and EVERY bit of information I could about our situation and this process....and thank GOD I did...VISA JOURNEY has helped us so much....I asked as many questions as I could to this lawyer and he flat out made me feel like i was bothering him!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT DOING HIS JOB

SO YES I AGREE about the lawyer thing.

We are hurting, we are still waiting.....we just are praying to get what we deserve after all this.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE WAITING INDEFINITELY LIKE US!!

Omg PF Changs too!

I was wondering if anyone else heard this one
as far as chains go I would have to say Bertucci's.

Other than that
in Philly we have a place called Tony Luke's
not really a restaurant but if you come by these parts....dont skip out on it
some of the best Italian sandwiches you can get good.gif

if you come in the nice weather you can sit outside and eat
there is no indoor seating

CanadaWearing shoes in the house?
It has never been in an issue wearing shoes in the house.
It just seems very common place here in the states. Why take off your shoes to have to turn around and put them on again?

However, since I have gotten older and 3 kids runnin in and out I have gotten more aware of the dirt that gets tracked in doors especially when you have carpets.

I know in India it was FORBIDDEN to go into the home with shoes on. Their floors were impeccably clean.

I know in my husband's country they encourage wearing some kind of shoes or slippers indoors because the floors are indeed dirty.

I suppose if you are someone that has foot odor, being asked to take off your shoes may be a little comprising blush.gif

Thanks for sharing.
I am from the Philly area and I had gravy fries at a place called "Nick's Roastbeef"

The Canadian version, which is probably the original, look very good.

I will have to try out the restaurant if their prices are reasonable. Most places in the city are not.

"Women who should worry, are one's who are prude's and a snore in the bedroom...seriously. The type of woman that only engage in one sexual position, with the lights off, only when the mood is right...and the thought or suggestion of any sex toys is unheard of....yeah...you're doomed. And let me guess, your husband says 'no way honey, I don't need all that...I love you...all I want is you....that kind of stuff is for people who need help or are bored of their wives'....yeah, those are the same guys that come to the club....while their wives think they are at a 'business dinner' and they like to partake in any sexual mischief they can get in to...even if it is just talk about sex...and the first thing that always comes out of their mouths....'yeah, my wife is not into that....'....'she's a good mother, and I love her'....'but the sex....is not that good' My husband is proof of this. He tells me of his last relationship that was seemingly functional in every other aspect. She prided herself on the fact that she was respectful and 'classy'...but she was not that adventurous or experimental in the bedroom, and he admits that he was bored of the sex. I'm sure she had no clue
And I know that many of you will read this and say 'not my husband' and I will tell you that half of those women....have no clue...trust me. I have met thousands and I mean thousands of men...through research, industry related events etc...and all too often when it comes to a spouse and sex....men want 'a lady in the street' and 'a wh*re behind closed doors"

So by this statement and the rest of your blubbering I am guessing that you have deemed yourself a real expert on the subject and what ALL the men really want and need.

And I will also assume that based on this statement that we should not trust our men because in the back of their minds they really only want just some hot “lady of the street” type whose only mission is to be as dirty as they want them to be, always obligatory and at their beck n call in the sack.

Gee having said that how would any normal, decent woman be able to fully trust their man or feel “acceptable” in their eyes?

Why marry your wife if all you wanted was a #######??

I mean you are leaving yourself open for review here.

I mean if the world only revolved around men and THEIR fantasies. whistling.gif

THE INDUSTRY and FANTASIES are not the real world and the reason we have a lot of problems in the homeland, I feel, is because people don’t always have their priorities straight.
Meaning…."get your head out of the gutter"

Real life doesn’t involve eating, sleeping and breathing sex and furthermore why should the demise of relationship always have to do with what the woman “doesn’t do” in the bedroom?? There are plenty of good women out there who need a man who knows how to do it right! You don’t see us off and running to the strip joints….but what a joke! Far be it for a man to exploit himself easier to put the pressure and the blame on the woman.

Better to not get so winded, uppity and self righteous just because someone doesn’t agree with your opinions.

You used the word #######. Can you see that? I made all big and pretty for you.

She wasn't getting winded and uppity. She had an extremely educated response that was very enlightening. If you could see past your own issues perhaps you could learn something.

the only issue I am having is the fact that you refer to me learning something like how to accept whatever falls into the "adult entertainment industry"

I really don't need to be educated on how to please my man, thank you.
and I actually did find her post to be informative.

All you have is insults, calling women skanks and whores.

I never used the word #######. If I think some women are skanks for doing what they do I AM ENTITLED TO IT
Just like she praises them and glamorizes them for what they do.

Those are some strong words for someone you don't know.

Don't know you all either but you got some strong words for me and my view.

You don't know all strippers, you can't speak for every woman in the sex industry. You can only speak for yourself.

And myself...I would rather not be associated with it

If you were so comfortable and secure you wouldn't be calling these women, whom you know nothing about, the names you choose to call them.

I am perfectly comfortable and secure I just don't think it is RESPECTABLE for my husband to go in a strip or patronize the ADULT INDUSTRY

The only person I see here who is being self righteous and uppity is YOU.

and as far as being couteous I rarely ever say much anyhow but I see all of you saying whatever you want when you want as if GOD has spoken, you never stop to think maybe there are times when you offend but no one calls you out on it???

you feed off this stuff

CanadaHow do you feel about strippers?
Men are men, no matter where they are from and my husband talks about how he would never go in a strip club and certainly would never take a woman, as his wife, who was a stripper. He definitely may be one of the rare men who actually respects his wife and does not have tolerance for garbage.

I have strong feelings about my man checking out other women in any way. I think it is degrading and leads the men to believe that is all a woman is good for...her looks. I actually have a rockin body for my age I have no problem acknowledging that a woman is beautiful (even more so than me) and sure there are plenty younger and more "perfect" ones than I, but if I was perfect enough for my husband to marry he best not be spending any money to get his rocks off somewhere else.

Beauty is fleeting....sexuality in that type of setting is very shallow.

There is nothing more fulfilling than being exposed and "one" with someone you truly love, trust and actually being able to go home to them.
.
What seems empty and frustrating to me is getting a hard on, in a public place, with a skank, who'll do what she does for ANYONE.
Paying essentially for nothing because you ain't going home with her whistling.gif

I was so thankful when I came upon this site.
What is better than actual EXPERIENCE?
I mean I had a lawyer too and he was worthless. In the end we got what we wanted but
I felt like I did alot of the research and question answering myself.
They do this everyday and their tolerance for anxious, overly inquisitive whiny petitioners is NILL.
We want answers and the only one they can really give is ....you got to wait it out.

In retrospect I would have attempted to it myself and saved alot of money.

CanadaTree or not to Tree
Well I had both fake and real all my life

I prefer the real tree for sure
I don't have the storage for a fake but we had some pencil tree last year in our tiny apt and that actually worked
first time in years I went fake

This year I dunno, I have to check out the layout of our new apt and see if we have room for a real or just use the skinny, out of the way one.

we did the mix match ornament thing too
after all the years of saving 3 childrens' ornaments we got ourself quite a collection and they love
getting out their ornament boxes and putting their on the tree.

I can't wait for the time when I can have a nice pretty theme tho, something I really like and take the time to shop for all the decorations.
