ok right off the bat..you got pix? GOOD! good.gif

I can understand you have reasons for witholding that information from his family. You have the right to disclose it as you see fit. Although it is not good to lie and they "may" be able to question people further if you dont have "enough" sufficient proof to validate your relationship.

You can tell them that of course his family knows and supports. The only reason that those in the pix were there was because they could be there the others had legitimate reasons why were absent for a variety of reasons. I dont think the consulate is going to far with questioning about every single family member or even friends for that matter.

My family back home was completely unaware that I had married or that we were going thru the visa process. They didnt ask him anything about the approval of his or my family about our relationship or marriage.

If they ask, answer accordingly. You have proof of your marriage and the important people in his family were there.

It is so easy to get hung up on little details and worry about what is to come as far as interrogation but try to relax.
Rehearse your information. The important thing is that you both answer with the SAME responses, not differently.

Good Luck! rose.gif

GREAT! If only everyone's experience could be so easy.

you are also lucky because we had filed both K3 and CR1...but when the time came for K3, we gave a letter asking for CR1 interview in lieu of and they didnt even acknowledge the letter from the attorney. 2 months later, after receiving K3 visa, he was back to interview for CR1.
Needless to say, we had to forfeit K3, AP nearly 6 months to receive that CR1 blink.gif
Thank GOD he is here now.

May you have a happy life together.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)can we just use one medical for k3 and cr1?
QUOTE (ed_and_sue @ Apr 28 2008, 07:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi guys!

my hubby and i are still dilly-dallying on whether to pursue the cr1 route or stick with k3.

to date, our k3 application has been forwarded to the embassy and i'm scheduled to call them this week for the interview appointment.

as for the cr1, we've already submitted our aos fee and 3032 form last week... and we're thinking of paying the iv bill online as soon as we get the iin.

the question is, assuming that we went ahead and scheduled the k3 interview and medical.... and then, by some miracle we've managed to complete the cr1 case while i'm still in manila, will be i asked to undergo another medical for the cr1? or will the one i went thru for k3 suffice?

your thoughts please:)

- sue

oh my goodness
let me tell you my situation
hubby had k3 interview March 27th,had extensive medical examinations and vaccinations, xrays the whole bit
the same day he got approved for k3 our CR1 interview date was sent to us with instructions and of course you need MEDICAL EXAM
i have been searching for the answer to the same ? you are asking
if i already had the medical exam do you need another?
we only have the vaccination record in our hand as proof now, I am not even sure if the doctor sent additional info on her own to the consulate
it is all so confusing so my hubby is going to call the doctor again, explain the situation and see her answer...our attorney didnt think we had to do it again..he said just wait to see what they want there
i say no way do we want to delay this any further
tell me what you think
our interview is in morocco, may 15th

yes, finally my husband has his interview one week from today, march 27th...it is for k3
we are just hoping for the best
can anyone pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee give any idea how much he will need at his interview?
it said 131.00 american dollars on the instructions but as you all know what they say and what they want are 2 different things...he just needs to know how much to bring
any info is greatly appreciated

My husband and i have been in AP 4 months now
yes it is pure anguish and sorry to say some people endure it for years
that is the scary part of it all
they dont care, you cant rush them or strong arm them into getting any answers

he got his K3 visa in hand April 10, 2008 and the SAME DAY got his interview packet/interview date for CR1
what to do
I KICK MYSELF EVERYDAY for listening to our attorney who advised him to wait the month till MAY 15, 2008 CR1 interview, said it was better, save time and money
i was such a nervous wreck that day cuz it was my decision
what did my husband know about it? he left it up to me
and now look 4 months since and still no answer
i have emailed the consulate
i have called DOS..just AP, NOTHING YOU CAN DO, just WAIT
i have had my congressman help us 2x and inquire just for this CR1
the senator too, my lawyer, they dont budge
same answer from them everytime

i am scared hopeless and helpless
if anyone has suggestions please fill me in
thank you

Salaam Sandrila,
So sorry, i just randomly saw this post now....
Did you post this in the MENA forum? i'm sure someone could give you good insight there...
As far as i know is that the visa costs $131 American dollars and i believe the fingerprinting costs are included. But probably would be best to bring some extra because you never know...
Unfortunately, i'm not much help... blush.gif

All i can say is best of luck in your interview tomorrow, inchallah!
Please post or PM me to let us know how it worked out.

I just want to thank you all for your sharing your information and experience here.
My husband was called yesterday, after only 12 days of AP, to bring his passport and take his visa.
He took the trip back to Casablanca for his 1 30 appointment..when there I am not sure of the details but they told him to come back AGAIN..tomorrow, April 10th. This process is not easy, they just make it harder and harder for you each time...unbelievable! ohmy.gif
But what is more unbelievable is our dream is becoming a reality.
I cant express the emotion I feel inside to know my husband is free to leave his country and be with me and our family here in USA.
I cant imgaine his feeling. I am so happy for him...I am happy for us... heart.gif

Did you ever go through the NVC process? Pay the AOS & IV Bills, and send in the I-864 & DS-230? If not, then no can do.

Diana

Right, until you can say yes to all that, you don't have a chance of seeing the two petitions at Consulate together.

If that does happen, you simply inform them but make sure you get the vaccinations required for an immigrant visa.

Chances are slim and none that you'll see your I-130 at NVC anyway.

If you want an immigrant visa, don't file an I-129F for spouse.

k let me try this again,
both my approvals have made its way to nvc, it hasn't been held back at USCIS or any other center.
so i guess its one of the CSC stuff.

in general forget my case, would it be possible to point me to old discussions where folks have been able to convince the consulate to consider the I-130 at their consulate for a later date in lieu on the scheduled K3?
thanks
M

hello
My husband's K3 visa was on March 27, 2008 in Casablanca, Morocco
We filed the K1 one FIRST but the K3 just came to a head quicker....My lawyer emailed the NVC in regards to having 2 petitions so close to together and could they possibly INTERVIEW FOR PERMANENT instead of temporary to save time and expense...they didnt respond to it...AND when he went for his K3 interview he had a letter from the lawyer to them requesting the same favor and they disregarded it completely now...he got his K3 visa in hand yes.gif exactly 2 weeks after AP ..and the same day we got his interview date for the CR1 (K1)visa...UNBELIEVABLE huh.gif
this system will just drain you for every dollar and tear they can squeeze out of you
this is the big one and now he has to stay back in Morocco until after the results of his May 15, 2008 interview in Casablanca sad.gif

oh by the way...any advice on the CR1..please share
GOOD LUCK TO ALL WAITING

omgggggggggggggggggg
has anyone had this happen??
that is why i was so upset to hear how they rushed him out of his interview
now he basically has a visa that could be in severe question at the POE
can anyone help or suggest what they would do?
and on top of that his interview for CR1 is in one month....
happy but I swear ...one step forward...two steps back
if i see him in front of me here.....IT WILL BE MIRACLE!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 Visa in hand same day appointment interview for CR1
I will try again to explain
hired a lawyer....applied for K1 because ultimately I want him to live and work here permanently
due to the wait time for K1 they advise you to file the K3 (temporary for spouse visa) so he can come quick...
so he got the K3 on April 10 and the same night I got the papers for his K1(or what they call CR1) interview....
I cant believe it AND on top of it they put his wrong birth year on his visa that we just haggled to get
I CANT BELIEVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can anyone please give any advice what to do???
should I tell the consulate I want to postpone the CR1 and bring him here quick and do the things later OR have him wait the one month do it and be done??????
also should we contact the consulate now of this mistake on visa to avoid any severe disruptions while going thru POE here???
Only had about a minute to relax and be happy for our TRIUMPH now back to darkness
I just dont know
thanks for all you guys who respond it means alot
good luck to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just when we thought he would be coming home.......the same night exactly I got my packet from the NVC stating that Tarik now has his CR1 interview, again in Casa, on May 15th, 2008..
just cant believe we now have to wait more
so surprised this happened so quick
we filed these one month apart and now we are interviewing one month apart
I just hope things run as smooth as K3 did and when we got 221(g), I was sure we would be indefinitely in this black hole, but GOD IS WITH US!!!!!!!!
good luck to all of you still waiting
ok
if anyone has ANY information on their CR1 interview can you please share?
I think we are in for a bloody round of financial slamming for this one, not to mention the run around

So when your spouse/fiance arrives in POE...you can choose ANY international airport to fly into?
AND the place where we, americans go thru immigration,we go thru quick. Our spouses are the ones waiting in that dreadful long line???)
just wonderin wacko.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 or CR1
It is so hard to tell what will happen cuz every case is handled differently.
We filed CR1 in June 07
it was approved in July 08

We also did K3, hoping we could get him here sooner
K3 was filed in July 07 and not approved until late Dec 07

so how does that seem right?
K3 did come quick after approval
finally had his interview March 27, 2008
got AP
12 days of AP and visa in hand

HERE IS OUR KICKER
visa in hand April 10, 2008 and interview for CR1 ON SAME DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so which route now?
attorney advised us to wait out for the interview for CR1
CR1 interview was May 15, 2008
AP YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now it has been 7 weeks and we are completely distraught
I would advise anyone, if the distance is breaking you down, just do the K3, at least you can be together for some time
this is entirely too too much
just grasping at straws requesting assistance from Congressman and now the Senator and still will never know when that call for the visa will come
he could of been here back in April
soooooooo i think our situation is unique and i think we want to save money by just letting him get the green card there but it has been to difficult
our life is hold
ultimately it took 1 month for CR1 visa petition approval
10 months for CR1 interview...7 weeks AP
5 1/2 months for K3 visa petition approval
8 1/2 months for K3 interview...12 days AP
good luck to you whatever you decide and i am not sure how much help a lawyer really is

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWomen, does your spouse help you with finances for the visa process or are you doing it alone?
I am glad this subject was brought up.

I too am feeling the financial strain of this immigration process here AND there, lawyer fees, not to mention any expenses (which are many) accured from basic communication (from phone calls to phone cards, traveling to and from (4x now), spending money when there etc.) my hubby doesnt have a pot to piss in. I knew it then I know it now.
It is a tough call. Alot of times I feel completely over whelmed. I am here alone with 3 children I am supporting plus I dont make much too begin with. I have gone to great lengths and sacrifices just to have a relationship with my husband and get him here so we can have a life together. It is hard and tiresome but I do it with the faith that I have the best in my life, I do it because if I dont, I cant be with him, I do it because when you love someone it shouldnt be about money.

I agree about the man's responsibility too and I feel that once he is given the CHANCE to prosper and support HE WILL.
I also feel that it was meant to be because I still dont know how I was able to do what I have done so far without the help of GOD...where all that money came from I dont know.

I wish I could do more. I wish I was making good money and got paid vacations for 4 weeks a year like alot of people I see on VJ...but I think ultimately what I am doing is for my own happiness and well being as well as his and I care more about him. If he is suffering over there, how can I sleep at night. I love this man and will do what it takes to have him with me.

People may judge and have their opinions but we have had needed help at one time or another in our lives, I have had more than my share. One good turn deserves another.
It is a tremendous burden to bear and sometimes I wonder...will he get his visa???
I am praying everyday.

I have yet to receive one materialistic item or financial support from him, after 3 years, but I know that when he comes he will take very good care of me and our children.

I thank god for him and i try hard not to measure love in dollars or material gestures.
it isnt easy coming from an american culture but after some years of soul searching I have changed my thinking quite a bit.

Good luck to you

I can understand truly how you feel.
Sometimes it seems like Forever before you hear something, anything

we had AP for our CR1 visa for nearly 6 months
we too were very stressed, depressed and felt hopeless

hang in there
you will hear something

i will keep you in my prayers

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCAN SHORT TIME IN MARRIAGE AFFECT CO DECISION
You are married now, that can't be disputed but what can be disputed, in such a short amount of time is, the sincerity of the relationship.
Without having spent much time together and not having a good chunk of time actually married I think they may scrutinize the motive of the marriage.

However, every situation is different.

Make sure that you have a ton of proof. Pictures of the ceremonies (engagement/marriage), pix of you together, e tickets, boarding passes, any letters or email correspondence from hence forth (if you hadnt already thought of it), phone records.

Nothing is guaranteed. Sometimes you get a nice, easy going, trusting CO and other times very difficult and extremely distrusting even with the most thorough of proof.
