Middle East and North Africa	I've been touched!!	Melissa that is great news. I cannot believe you have had to endure such complete and utter irresponsibility and lack of concern. Good things are moving and hope it wouldnt take much longer for you now. I wish for some extra prayers as well as my husband's physical and mental health is deteriorating and I am seriously worried about losing him before he gets his Visa, it is near 6 months now in AP. Middle East and North Africa	Prayers Needed	well if no one read my OMG post yet I am happy to say that within 24 hours of me posting this very desperate post OUR PRAYERS HAD BEEN ANSWERED!!! I got on VJ late today too...lunch time rather than first thing sitting at my desk and I posted as usual in the MENA thread...a mere 30 mins later....TARIK CALLED AND SAID HE GOT THE CALL FROM THE CONSULATE!!! I swear i did not believe him, I thought he was kiddin but nope! it is true..they told him to come Monday at 1pm with his passport......now if i am not mistaken i think I smell VISA...... so thank you all for putting up with my little meltdown as you know it is only because I love my husband to death and cant bear losing him while we are waiting in this hell but I think now I am seeing the light! allah hamdulillah!!! is that right? Middle East and North Africa	Prayers Needed	Thank you all so much. I know some days are better than others and I dont know why they gave his K3 so easy and making us wait so much for CR1?? I still don't know what our lawyer is good for? As the day has gone by I have had no choice but throw myself into my work. I haven't heard from Tarik at all and I am just wondering if he is still there. I used to send stuff all the time then we were so close to the VISA and got it and well, it has been a while but ladies and gents I have done so much just because I love him. At least if we know HE WILL GET IT...then it will all be ok. It is just the not knowing and I know you all have endured it or are still enduring it...just knowing I am not alone, helps. My husband is a bit of a loner, which is part of the issue and well, he couldnt understand me coming here and venting with people I dont even know. BUT FRIENDS, I feel I know you and I appreciate you making your fingers work a little just to bring me some comfort...I think I will be ok...but I just am praying that when I am on the way home I get my usual phone call from him and I just tell him I love him and we are gonna make it right? Middle East and North Africa	Prayers Needed	Dear MENA, I come here day and after and attain strength and commraderie from you all. I offer my prayers and enthusiasm for anyone who posts and needs support. I may participate here in conversation but I try not to complain or gain sympathy as we all have our hard times. Today, I am heartbroken. This may sound extreme but I feel my husband is dying slowly day by day. I dont know what else to do or say. I have tried all this time to remain hopeful, strong and positive but now I am broken. We are so far and I dont have any chance at this moment to fly and be with him there or live with him until he gets his Visa, if he even gets it. If you dont believe that someone could die from having NO LIFE, NOTHING at all and losing all hope and desire to live, BELIEVE. I have stood by my husband and he is the sweetest and purest being I have ever met. Why this is happening to us, I have no idea but to think we have to wait any longer to be reunited is surely a crime. I fear my husband will die before I even have a chance to see him again. I am sitting at work ready to burst with tears after reading an email he sent to me. He is completely broken depressed, distressed and in despair. Nothing can bring me any happiness or peace until I am there with him to hold him and take care of him. We have had to withstand ENOUGH and today, I dont know how he is doing at this minute. I feel I have done everything I can do in this difficult and unnormal situation we are in. I feel so helpless hopeless and angry. I think that I am tired of being strong, I am tired of all the stupid mundane things I need to do here taking precedence over him, I am tired of having to stay here just so he can come here. I wonder if GOD cares at all about my husband or hears any of our prayers?? This man is so perfect and has nothing but #### dealt to him all his life. We are losing time! There is no begging or pleading I can do anymore to this government to help. Of course everyone's plea is important and of an urgent nature however, I feel that soon my hopes and dreams will be crushed if we are not reunited as soon as possible. Middle East and North Africa	MY HUSBAND GOT THE CALL!!!	Well my boss told me to take the rest of the day off as i was going for an hour to see my daughter's halloween parade he knows the pain i have been enduring! I was just shocked, I didnt believe my husband when he called me at work...i was just calm and working like any old other day and i had always invisioned him calling me there and what would my feeling be AND just starting crying and screaming and laughing with pure joy and excitement and just as if a huge bolder had been lifted off me and I am going to live again, breathe again, smile again, cuz these last 2 days surely made us feel it was too much to bear any longer and LOOK!!! after my post and reading your encouraging words I went home that night and I had a different approach with my husband...last night we had a nice night and we talked and i felt like we were going to DO THIS! HEADSTRONG! it is just unbelievable and I feel I wont fully believe until he walks away Monday with the Visa in Hand. I cant believe it is me here now getting Congratulations and thanks for taking the time to do so for us we are all smiles and laughs now and it has been too long since I have TRULY smiled what? together for Christmas?? YESSSSSSSSSSS!! I just want to say thank you friends...if i may call you that. I want to thank you cuz I know I could not have been as strong and patient without you..I am praying for everyone else waiting to get the same and we are all good and prayers will be answered I do believe I do believe! I carved my Jack o Latern last night with some online help from hubby As I knew it would, it took me 2 freakin hours...as I am midway thru carvin I always say "why did I do this?" then I remember, OF COURSE I HAVE TO...it is just tradition. My daughter is going to be a ghouly ghost...wish I could post pix..if I could figure out how I am about ready to drive to her parade at school...downtown Philly must be ROCKIN MAD!!! 2 million people expected at the Parade for our PHILLIES' WORLD SERIES VICTORY!! Too many people callin out of work and schools having the day off just for this one...the last time we won was in 1980...I know you guys dont care anyhow happy safe trick or treatin...and a great weekend Maureen..whats the 411??? I heard on the radio to setback tonight?? My goodness you are up and at em early 8 45 am here just made the coffee I hope any of us can receive some good news this week and with Labor Day holiday coming, that is just another day NVC and DOS arent working Alot of school shopping still left on my plate too littlemasriya...thanks for the new music tip! always looking for new stuff Just another day at the office..still hot as hell over here, but the mornings and nights feeling more like back to school I dont know how much good it does for me to continually call DOS about the status of our case, everytime I Call, which is like 1x a month, they say STILL PENDING STILL PENDING, can anyone recommend what I COULD do that might help? First, I love, I mean I LOVE ETHNIC MUSIC but the arabic music (if i may categorize it as such) is da BOMB! I definitely have my favorites and most of my time shopping there is finding new, awesome music. Old ones or new....what are some of your favorites or what would you recommend? Middle East and North Africa	spices in arabic	My mother in law doesnt speak a lick of english i tried to watch and retain but nothing like taking down the actual receipes and remember how our grandmothers always "estimated"? they dont know "exactly" well that is how his mother was cooking too, just with eye measures so that makes it hard but i have a great cookbook that is simple and the food is exactly from all countries in MENA "from the land of figs and olives" great title too! I love dates and olives..in fact it was my mission to eat as much of those things as possible there omg and the avacados...OUT OF THIS WORLD! I think I need more time there and really getting into the whole cooking thing cuz we were so busy out and about that i wasnt always up from sleep or in home to really observe i did cook american things too and they loved that they have grocery stores that sell alot of similiar items and things we have here in the states ONLY they recognize them by different names	Sandrila	Female	Morocco	2008-08-25 14:02:00
Middle East and North Africa	spices in arabic	are palestinian prices that bad?????????? usually eating is much cheaper over there anyway snacks are good nuts, crackers of any kind...you may need tupperware containers so things dont get crushed or broken i used to bring foods i liked when traveling cuz i wasnt sure if they had things i would like i was wrong but still they dont SNACK all the day like we do omg my husband hasnt taught me a lick of arabic ..cant help you with the spices in arabic granola bars..raisins...think what kids put into their lunches...LOL tuna is a good one tho..cereal (just add milk)....peanut butter, pita bread i even got little soy milk boxes to drink along the way or add to cereal...vanilla is delicious its not much but hope it helps	Sandrila	Female	Morocco	2008-08-25 09:09:00
Middle East and North Africa	Questions about AP	Angie I'd like to keep my hair too! I would also second the comment that AP IS TORTURE!! I feel like I am just sitting helplessly, I dont think pestering them too much helps...plus with all the power they have, they could make things worse for us if we keep being pushy. Yes, true test of endurance...the "not knowing" kills us little by little and i dont know about you guys but my husband is in a very bad position there. Middle East and North Africa	How do I convince my MENA man??	i want to tell you too i often feel i need to consider what option we have IF he doesnt get his CR1 visa and as you know he HAD the K3 in hand and same day got interview packer for CR1, we opt to wait for that STUPID!!!!!!!!!!! I have kids too, 3...and I think, well, if he cant come here, then what?? and i see his life there too, can we live and prosper in that condition?? can i live there without working and not living a life I am "somewhat" accustomed to? I mean i have no problems up and moving there but again kids ...husband........ husband....kids....you cant choose and honestly, i can sleep and my husband isnt here with me without my kids...i dont sleep but i wish i wish i wish my husband could make a good living #1 so he could contribute and help support us and #2 so this whole process wouldnt be financially so hard to bear on me good luck to you	Sandrila	Female	Morocco	2008-08-26 09:24:00

Listen just because the petitions were approved quickly doesnt guarantee your interview will come so quickly our CR1 was approved long before the K3...it took us 5 months from the time we were approved for K3 until the interview date my feeling...he will be finished his things there before the interview date in 3 months it will be december...i dont imagine an interview date coming before that i am not sure about giving any advice, this is just my experience my CR1 was approved quicker than could be expected but it still took 10 months from that approval until the interview date are you saying he would have to leave spain to attend interview in Spain??? that is tricky but i would not forgo this residency....try to see if you could reschedule your interview date...if you call as soon as they give you a date, i am sure you can reschedule good luck but then again, what do i know, this whole process is so different for everyone the times and approvals are not consistent enough to really make any assumptions or plans i didnt know you were living alone here without hubby Edited by sandrila, 26 August 2008 - 09:14 AM. Morning a little late posting today hope all is fine princess bride certainly is a classic and my god at some point I have to take my kids to ORLANDO I did go as a teen and loved it, but with all my travels to Morocco, I dont think we'll get to go till Tarik gets here Might get a bit of overdue rain here but not before I take my walk at lunch why do I know the time is flying by so fast but I feel like I am standing still??? Middle East and North Africa	what can you do in AP?	I am just wondering what good, if any, it is to call DOS to check the status of your visa? I mean they will call my husband when they are finished, this is what they tell me. I have only called DOS 3 times since receiving AP back in mid-May I have gotten the help of my congressman, senator and attorney, all yielded the same responses. Now it is just silent day by day waiting to hear anything. I dont know if it helps or if you even can bring more attention to your case to expediate things. Again Coke is thoroughly international and they are always advertising for holidays and even events like the olympics..(again international)...i think they will gain praise and revenue by doing this and I think we would see it here and there as well. I have seen the coke containers there only it is like YSIS or something like that ....i think it is very reflective of the times we live in, after all WHITE CHRISTIAN people in US are a very near the minority now.
