Middle East and North AfricaNot sure if Attorney gave me good advice.
GOD KNOWS I SPENT A TON OF MONEY ON A LAWYER....probably.....3,500....just for his fees.

ALL HE DID.....PAPERWORK.

I often asked myself why I had him. He sat back all relaxed, after sometime I realized if I wanted my questions answered and any sense of hope, I had to do my own research. Thank God I found this site smile.gif

Still the money is spent and thank GOD my husband is here.
I wouldnt say it wasnt worth it to have the lawyer, I knew nothing at all about this process, but in hindsight I wouldnt say that I NEEDED him.
I see now that people quite successfully have done this completely by themself. good.gif

I have never heard nor seen the Moroccan consulate hand over a "same day" visa.

There could be examples of it, but it is doubtful....always some sort of wait mad.gif

This week will still be chilly in Philly.

Hey Jeanne, your guy loves banana bread?
This is my 3rd time making it for my hubby. My daughter and I made chocolate chip banana bread on Saturday......YUM!
I had to dramatically cut back on the sweets I have in my home, but I figure at least that bread has fruit in it tongue.gif

Middle East and North AfricaInterview went good but the Co gaves me my passport back!!!!!!
I am sure everything will be fine.
You did all what you can do and I heard Cairo is very difficult consulate.

I cant believe you remember every question they asked you wacko.gif THAT WAS TOO MUCH!
My husband only got asked like 3 or 4 general questions and that was it, maybe cuz we were married.

But sit tight, those of us who had AP endured it and PRAY, GOD HEARS YOU!

If your fiance is older don;t count on them being fast.
They went to his home 3 monts later and investigated everything ,
then it took 3 more month after calling them a few times to give us any info at all .
That was 16 months ago and still no visa .
Don;t count on the Cairo Embassy to go fast.
Eveybody has different circumstance but get ready for a long wait .
We finally gave up and decided not to get married and just stay friend.
It
Its a gracy wait and in the end not worth it

Middle East and North AfricaQuestions about Dr. Zirari Khadija
We used her as well.

My husband was the only one who could go in when he saw her. He said she was fine, thorough. It was sort of back and forth all that day, having blood work, xrays and having to retrieve the vaccinations. She did give us a copy but did not show him what would be going to the consulate. I guess we just assumed she knew what she is going, I mean I can imagine how many resident she sees going through the consulate wacko.gif

Just make sure you have they request of you.
Make copies of all your documents on your own.
And bring plenty of money!!!!!

can someone please tell me what the AOS stands for? May sound silly but we are new at this.
Also, my husband is now ready to make his appointment for the doctor. He received his instructions in the mail. Typically, do moroccans have to schedule their appt with this woman doctor OR just show up and wait in line? How much is the doctor appt anyway? Dont they give you some proof of your appt to take to the interview or not? just wondering. blush.gif wacko.gif

Traveling by car to Casablanca....if you survive driving a stick shift in this place you are LUCKY ohmy.gif
appointment was at 9, we were little late due to major traffic in the early morning AND not knowing exactly how to get there...street signs please...and asking anyone is like the blind leading the blind, none the less found the place and god knows I fully rely on my husband being it is his territory here...i just go where he tells me tongue.gif
the receptionist was a man and very friendly
laid back atmosphere, nice office
take all your info of course
passport, ID, passport pix, money
expect to be tied up with this appointment like 3 hours
first bloodwork payment for that which they dont tell you (upstairs in same office)
xrays..traveling to another location, nearby (payment required 40 Dirham)
bring back Xray results
vaccinations....travel again around the corner to retrieve and purchase your own vaccinations
when you return you are seen by the doctor finally
lucky for us we were like the 2nd persons there...no line, no major waiting at all, if more busy it would have been an all day affair
we definitely ate beforehand
after all was said and done, cost us near 1000 Dirham including travel expenses
we got the vaccination history on the spot
some vaccinations he could not even receive due to his age and it not being the proper season for it (like flu)
so the form says his record is incomplete
BUT it is incomplete for legitimate reasons as documented by the Dr...her name, oh god! the one that starts with the letter K..lol
get back to you on it
another step closer yes.gif

Middle East and North AfricaMENA Monday!
Good Morning.

I hope you all had a restful and productive weekend.
I had a busy one, of course it went by way too fast.

We had some wacky weather Sunday, very cloudy and foggy till about 1, cleared up into beautiful ultra warm temps, then a storm rolled in out of nowhere with thunder and lightening, we even had hail the size of jelly beans!

Today it is gusty winds and cold sad.gif

I will be so happy when it is consistently warm and sunny, then we would all be complaining that it is too hot and we cant wait for it to cool down. tongue.gif

Annie...what I can do is small compared to what you are doing. Keep your chin up and I pray God will give your father, you and your family the strength to get through this very difficult time. rose.gif

have a good day peeps....just the same ol same ol
Hubby is playing out again tonight....he's been practicing...I know he will blow them all away biggrin.gif

Leyla,

Welcome back!
Coincidence, my husband's name is Tarik also.
He arrived here in mid Nov of 2008. I think it is fair to say that there is an adjustment that comes once they get here.
I would say it has been hard for us also but it is getting better slowly.
Thanks for filling us in and good luck in your future together. Wishing you the best! smile.gif

Good Morning Peeps

Yes I think Staashi delivered yesterday but no word as of yet...can't wait to see pix!!

Amanda hang in there girl, one day, when you least expect it....you will get the call!

Maureen...I need a day off from work so bad, I thought I was having off on Good Friday and I was going to take hubby to the shore for the first time here but now I hear 1/2 day! UGH! And I also had a hard time getting up this morning, even after going to sleep early blink.gif

I really want to request OFF Good Friday but I am such a stickler for not missing any days. I just feel I get alotted so much, but not much, days off sick, personal, what have you...I think before this one year period ends I should take one or two.

Weather is starting to break, a little chilly but fine enough for my lunch time walk.

Take care
