I checked the NVC website and it says "IN TRANSIT."  Called NVC and our file is being shipped to the Embassy!  Waybill doesn't show it yet, but the NVC operator said it was mailed out the 18th and any further questions need directed to the Embassy after they receive our file. Now we wait for packet 3, although ours is already filled out and ready to go.

Ready for the next big step....dancin5hr.gif

Africa: Sub-SaharanAdded evidence to NVC?
[quote name='olumides_girl' timestamp='1346201713' post='5646705']
Hello everyone...ok so I am sure a few people that read this have already seen me ask this question on FB so sorry ahead of time for the repeated question but I figured I better bring this to VJ (a bigger audience). All opinions are welcomed but I would really like to here from those that have "been there done that"...ok so when it's time to submit the DS-230 at the NVC stage should I or shouldn't I use this time to submit more evidence to the embassy? I have heard yes do it and no don't...well that's it :)...thanks in advance!

hello, no not yet for the ds230 if you did not send it with your petition to the lock box. you will have an apportunity to send it in to the nvc with your ds3032 and biometrics. they will ask you for that. you will even know when to pay the next fees too. they will send you an noa. just wait now, it takes time for them to approve or rfe.

Congratulations!!!

If i may ask, when did you receive NOA2? We received ours on August 27, 2013, but till now we haven't received our case number from NVC or DOS.

We are so worried, and we don't know what to do again after the numerous calls to NVC and DOS, but still nothing concrete told to us.

Got a QQ message at 2:50 this morning that my fiancee was approved for her K-1 visa!  We're both in shock, because we didn't have the original copies of the financial documents.  I guess the CO was very understanding that they hadn't arrived in the mail and was very friendly in general.

Thanks to everyone here who has coached us through this process along the way.  biggrin.png

~Removed duplicate thread posting, please refrain from posting same topic in multiple forums.~

You are welcome.

There are several folks that are knowledgeable about the current Guangzhou consulate process that will likely respond. Review some of the prior postings to get some ideas about the GUZ interview process. The pinned thread at the top of the forum page is a great source for info on the terms, etc.

The consulate location and visa process has changed since we had our interview in 2012.

Here is a link to the GUZ consulate webpage:

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thanks so very much for the information given me, it's very useful.

ChinaAT LONG LAST, WHAT'S NEXT?

After almost 4 months of waiting after NOA2(August 27), we received case number from NVC today. The only good thing is we have all documents ready for the interview, aside from medical check. That was what we kept doing during this lengthy time.

Could VJ'ers please list the needed documents we need for the Interview, so we could crosscheck and be sure before going there? More so what are the forms to be filled online? We used a lawyer(which has really caused us a lot), so the attorney has already done with most of the forms, but we don't want to contact him again, because he wasn't helpful to us at all after our petition was approved. No wonder our petition stayed at USCIS for 14 weeks before going to NVC.

PLEASE LIST ALL ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE INTERVIEW FOR US, THANK YOU FOR HAVING TIME TO READ THIS......

RaznattybongoMaleChina2013-12-13 10:56:00
ChinaPLEASE CLARIFY FOR US....

After a long awaited time, we received our first Instructions from the US Consulate today.

ARE THESE THE ONLY DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT TO THE CONSULATE?

1. 2 passport photos (50mm square).

2. Copy of my passport's information page.

3. Confirmation page of DS-160.

4. Notice for K1 visa applicant (Included in the packet ).

What should be expected after the above documents are mailed? Can we start to pay and book our interview now?

PLEASE ADVICE, THANKS FOR READING AND HELPING!!!

ChinaPLEASE HELP US.... ''No Criminal Record Certificate In China''

I went for my interview on the 21st of January and everything seemed okay and went well.

Finally the CO told me to submit another Police report or no criminal record form.

To him, what I had with me during the interview wasn't the required one, and more so needs to bring one which is notarized.

I got that one from the city I live and work in now, in Gansu Province, with their stamp on it, thinking that was notarized.

My fiancee and I went back to the city's PSB for a new notarized one, and they have no idea what very certificate to get for us. We think it's because they haven't done something like this for a foreigner in the city before. We are totally stuck and don't know what to do next, this is preventing us from having our K1-Visa.

They now want a sample of the No Criminal Record Certificate from us, so they could look on it and do the same for us.

COULD VJers please inbox me a sample of the No criminal record certificate of china? OR if someone could tell us how to get the required certificate, we will be glad. We would be very grateful because this is the only thing preventing us from having our K1-Visa now.

PLEASE HELP US, WE ARE SO DESPERATE AND REALLY IN NEED OF HELP!

Asia: East and PacificCheapest way to call someone from Japan?

Not sure if this is the right forum to discuss with but already saw same topic only that the OP was asking about PH and Indonesia.

How about Japan? I'm always subscribed to Skype's Japan 120 Minute call which $15.99 a month. But I always run out of minutes (120 min of course isn't enough in a month), For some reason, you cannot subscribe again with another 120 min within the month that it was consumed, I can avail 60 min though, but still it isn't enough (Skype is weird). With that, I needed to call my fiance (USC based in Japan) directly from my phone using IDD which very expensive!

If you have anything more in mind, please share.

Magic Jack , if you both have access to internet , Also you can use a google voice number and buy an OBI-100 router/modem for free long distance ( i'm not sure about Japan).

Australia and New ZealandK-1 Visa Approved!

The police check has to be done based on fingerprint records so yes you will need to get your fingerprints take, I would do this immediately, also book the medical now as most states especially NSW have a wait time of 1-4 weeks for an appointment. Send in both criminal record check and medical with your packet 3, it will make things easier.

Thanks a lot for this information Alex.

Australia and New ZealandK-1 Visa Approved!

Woo! Got approved today! Interview was the easiest part of the process by far. Went into consulate at 8:45, left at 8:59 approved! Barely had to do a thing other than hand over my passport, get finger prints taken, sign a form and then left with my approval slip. Pretty much no questions asked, I suppose it helped having my Fiancee there in person as they weren't concerned about relationship evidence when she was standing there!

that's an excellent news !! congrats !! :)

Just have couple questions for you :

1. did you or your fiance(e) get the fingerprints done along with the police certificates?

2. our file is in transit to Sydney and should be there in a day or two, do you think we should get the medical and police certs out of the way ?

Thanks,

Australia and New ZealandTaking medical results to interview

The results will be placed inside the "Do Not Open" envelope that will be mailed to her along with her passport. She will hand that envelope in when she enters the US. If she wants a copy of the medical results she can ask consular official at the interview to make her a copy.

Yes once I got my visa it came with a big yellow envelope that said "do not open" which I am assuming are my medical records and visa information to give to the "POE" officer when I arrive in the USA.

M.

Thanks a lot guys .. this is indeed helpful.

Australia and New ZealandTaking medical results to interview

I had to carry my results and the xray to the US Consulate but we live in Brisbane so I am not sure about if you live in Sydney.

M.

Usually the results are sent to the applicant who then mails them in to the consulate  along with the rest of the documents listed in Packet 3. However I believe the Sydney doctor mails the results directly to the consulate. They are not usually taken along to the interview, although they can be if they were not ready to be mailed in with packet 3.

In Sydney the Doctor will mail the results direct to the consulate, do not worry about it, it doesn't mean anything serious.

just had the medical today, bit of a mission but reasonably straight forward. The sydney Doctor sends examination results directly  to US Consulate,  thats why you need to take the express post envelope. Then you have to keep the xrays and take them with you to interview and then have them with you when you enter the US

Thank you so much guys for the great information. So basically the Consulate will have the medical results when she goes for the interview. Will those results be given back to her after the interview to carry it with her to US along with the xrays?

Australia and New ZealandCalling US Consulate in Sydney, AU

I read it on VJ first, but again there were a few posts with confusing information. My fiancé e-mailed the consulate about 3 months ago for clarification and they responded in about a week confirming that yes you do need fingerprints.

NOTE: When we went to get fingerprints done, we had to go to 2 different stations in Sydney. The first one was Chattswood. They were very rude, had no idea what they were talking about. Told us to come back with the entire Packet 3 with ALL the originals and they would mail it for us (yeah right buddy!). Chattswood refuse to mail us the police certificate (which is what you want because otherwise it can easily get lost without your SYD case number attached). There's actually another post on here about Chattswood & basically the people had the same experience.  We left, and went to City Central who knew EXACTLY what they were doing, and then we got the certificate in the mail 2.5 weeks later. We held it until now (it's good for 6 months or a year...I can't remember now), and we are just waiting for packet 3.

Does that help?

Excellent, that is some great information, thank you so much, i'll let her know.

She must get the fingerprint check. What state does she live in?

Hi Lainie B, thank you for your reply. she is in NSW.

Hi Pacharya! You do need the police certificate with fingerprints.

Hi SherryandDaniel,

Thank you for your reply on this. Have you read this somewhere in packet 3 instructions or online on Canberra's website? We were not able to find anything and that's why were wondering if we should get fingerprints done or not.

Do any of you guys know if the fingerprints are required with the police certificates? Should my Fiancee get fingerprints done as well or just the police certificates? I do not see anything mentioned on the Canberra site for fingerprints but just want to be sure.

From what I remember, the National Police Clearance is valid for 6 months. The medical should be done as close to your interview as possible (maybe within the month). Please dont quote me on this info thou. I do have a link to what packet 3 will consist of.. Have a read, it may give you the next-do-for-you..

http://canberra.usem...e_niv_appl.html
Good Luck

A lot of this depends on which state in Australia your fiancee resides.

1. You can schedule the medical whenever you like. Depending on what state you are in, you may need the NVC case number at the actual medical. However since you already have now that then there is no problem going ahead with the medical, no matter which state she is in.

2. You can get the police clearance whenever you want. I suggest do it now as it can take a few weeks to receive, depending on your state.

3. The procedure for the police clearance depends on her state.

4. I think the medical is valid for a year. However you want it to be valid by the time she submits her AOS, so for this reason it is a good idea to have it done as close to the interview as possible

Oh and if you have questions, email is the best way to reach the consulate in Sydney.

You should do it now as it takes roughly 2 weeks to get the Police certificate. Might as well get it in case there is a delay.

I am interested in the answer to your question regarding contacting the consulate. Perhaps you can keep us informed please.

Also can you let us know how long the wait list is for the exam.  I assume you are having the exam in Sydney?

I would try scheduling your medical now, because you can send in your packet 3 info without it and just bring it with you to your interview. If you are having your medical in Sydney, I know there was a bit of a backlog not long ago because one of the doctors was out of town for 3 weeks so that may take some time. You should be able to do that with just the number; you don't need to have received packet 3 to do that.

I would also go ahead and get the police clearance now as well, since it can take some time and will be valid for plenty of time. It took about 10 days for my fiancé's to come back to us. You don't need the packet 3 to do that either. Follow the link given above for information about how to do the clearance depending on where in Australia your fiancée is.

I emailed the embassy last week and it took them almost a week to get back to me (with a form response), but then I got my Packet 4 the next day.

Thank you so much guys for this helpful information. I will post here as we go along for all the steps. Thanks again for all your help !!

Australia and New ZealandCalling US Consulate in Sydney, AU

We just got our NVC case number and now our case is in Transit to Sydney. In preparation for the interview and shorten the delays, we are trying to gather as much stuff in advance as possible. I have some questions if someone has already been through this or anyone that can give some information on this as calling the consulate in Sydney was not much of help.

1. Has anyone tried scheduling the medical right after getting the number from NVC? Given that you still haven't received packet 3 from the consulate

2. Has anyone tried getting the police clearances done right after getting the number from NVC? Given that you still haven't received packer 3 from the consulate

3. Does my fiancee (beneficiary) have to get the Federal or State police clearance?

4. If you get the medical and police clearances done before your interview, how long are they considered valid?

Thanks,

I have often read that once the visa is approved, the beneficiary has 6 months from the date visa is issued to enter the US. Since you just got your visa approved very recently at Sydney, I was wondering if you could share what is the validity of your visa? Do you have 6 months to enter US? Just asking out of curiosity.

Australia and New ZealandK1 Interview Sydney

Yes, you pay the visa fee to the Australia Post. You print out the deposit slip here: http://www.ustraveld...m/au/Fee240.pdf and take it to the post office to pay and bring the receipt from the post office to the consulate. smile.png Oh, and because you are a K1 applicant, you don't have to go to the website and do anything afterwards, even though the deposit slip says otherwise. That pertains to other visas- if you go to the website, you can't even find the K1 on there and it is totally confusing.

Good luck with the interview!

Thank you for the response. Yes, I did come across couple of other posts on VJ that we don't need to create a profile and when you go to the traveldocs website you can just click on the deposit slip link and print it out. I saw your timeline, you guys were recently approved. Congrats !! :) And thank you for the interview wish, hope it will go smooth and she will be approved.

Australia and New ZealandK1 Interview Sydney

Hi All,

its been such a loooong wait but finally have my interview date for this Tuesday!! yay!!...and now I am a bit nervous...what do I have to take with me, the letter I received just said bring passport and envelope for sendingj passport back,  I know I have to take two visa sized photos as well but what else??? any help

would be great!

My Fiancee also has the interview next Tuesday (3rd Sept.).

The list we received mentioned the following:

Form DS156 - My fiancee mentioned that she went back and checked all the documents and the one she sent didn't have the barcode, so may be that's why they asked for it again

Passport

Visa Fee

Envelope to return documents

So I am assuming everything we have sent until now may have been correct.

We are still little confused about the visa fees that needs to be paid. The document they sent mentions that you have to print a deposit slip to Take it to Australia Post and bring the receipt of payment to interview. So does this means that the fees must be paid in the name of Australia Post because the documents says it is not payable to Consulate?

Next week it will be 7 months from NOA1 , and 7 months we didn't see him. We were not together on his birthday , her birthday , my birthday , valentine's day , Easter , her graduation from kindergarten , Mother's Day and Father's Day . We lost this moments , she makes memories without him.

Sad? No, this is cruel.

USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

Hi everybody! We got our NOA2 Approval notice by email and on USCIS website at 9:31 PM Eastern time, June 26.
NOA1 was Jan 22, so we got it in 5 months, 4 days. We were transferred in the first batch from VSC to TSC on May 30.

So, everyone that didn't get notice yet, just keep hanging in there. It's definitely coming soon. We originally thought ours wasn't coming until August, so I think the transfer was a good thing.

Good evening y'all! I checked my status one hour ago and we got our approval today! Felt like a huge rock was lifted over my shoulders.. Now on to the next one. Still a lot more work to be done.
Good luck to all the filers who got transferred and still waiting for a decision. Don't forget to pray!
Filing date is December 24, 2012
NOA 2 is June 26, 2013
Last 5 digits are 54150
I didn't get an email or text message alert from USCIS, I just randomly checked to see if I'm one of the lucky USCIS lottery winner of that day.
As soon as I saw the decision a huge smile took over my face, even though I was at work I had to leave for 5 mins and call my fiancé to let her know we got approved. She had just woken up.

Congratulations !! :)
