National Visa Center (Dept of State)The Waiting room for fiancé visa case number is it 10 days or 20

I checked the NVC website and it says "IN TRANSIT."  Called NVC and our file is being shipped to the Embassy!  Waybill doesn't show it yet, but the NVC operator said it was mailed out the 18th and any further questions need directed to the Embassy after they receive our file. Now we wait for packet 3, although ours is already filled out and ready to go.

The Embassy gives you the interview date if you are a " K " filer, I called NVC today and asked for the interview date and they directed me to the Embassy. Of course it is in transit and once they receive our file, than we can inquire about any questions we might have.

On the "in transit" notice it says an interview date was provided for you by the NVC. What does that mean and how to know the date or do we just wait? thnaks!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)K-1 8 weeks to get case number?

Yay! While waiting for NOA2 I always read posts about the NVC stage and it always seemed to go quickly, so I hope it is the same for us! The part that scares me is that sometimes they seem to randomly pick cases for administrative processing and don't give any timeline for how long that takes, so I am really praying that ours doesn't get stuck in AP! I hope yours gets to your embassy next week! That would be amazing!

The dreaded AP.... UGH!  I pray we don't get it... sounds like a contagious disease.... lol.  Anyways, yes it will be amazing if it goes to the Embassy next week.

Thanks! That is wonderful news. smile.png Has yours been forwarded to your embassy yet? Do they send it on quickly once a case number is assigned? Good luck!

I have my case number and invoice number... and nothing is sent to Embassy yet, the online status still says at NVC so this is a wait and see phase.  I was told to call back next week to make sure it was sent to the Embassy like it's suppose to ... from the first person I ever spoke to at NVC... so praying it gets shipped to Embassy next week!

You got your Noa2 pretty fast I saw and that alone should make you really happy!! smile.png (we had to wait 136 days more than you) and also were told UP to 8 weeks but that I don't think is true. NVC hopefully won't take that long anymore...

Wishing you a speedy journey!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)K-1 8 weeks to get case number?

I received my NOA2 hard copy in the mail yesterday, so I decided to call NVC just to check if they had received my case yet. Not surprisingly, the woman I spoke to said that it was not in their system yet and that they are currently asking 8 weeks to give a case number. Has anyone applying for a K-1 gone through the NVC recently and found this processing time to be accurate? I was under the impression that for K-1 applicants, they moved them through within a matter of days or at most just a few weeks. I hope they are just saying 8 weeks to discourage people from calling and asking. The wait is discouraging. sad.png

I have gotten my NOA2  alert June 24th and hard copy on the 28th June.... called  July 2nd and had gotten my case number. The normal wait is one to two weeks, just keep calling back every other day after the first week no matter how much they discourage calls before 8 weeks.  Call at different times of the day too, that helps.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)STUCK @ NVC for AP Part II

Hi Sarah,

I just called NVC and they told me that our case was in additional administrative processing.  Does that mean it will be in transit to Turkey soon?  So confused.

Ours was stuck in AP for 18 days....  could be that they are back logged, scanning your files, doig background checks... it varies and no one is for sure what they do during AP.

I just checked the NVC status tracker and it says that it is in TRANSIT:

"Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

I had not seen an update online at DOS so I called them really late and the gentleman said the case is in additional administrative processing... so this was disappointing to learn, especially when before it was not in this process July 8th. There are no appointments available in Ankara either, via Embassy, so it looks like it will be a longer "wait" process than expected.

Will try and keep everyone updated so that this experience possibly helps the next person.

I called back really late and had spoken to a gentleman on the phone who said he sees no admin or additional processing. He says from what he can see, which is limited, is that the case is being geared up to the last mechanisms of preparing for the Embassy. Also, he said that last week was a holiday and it kind of has a slow down affect for a brief while. So hopefully we will hear good news on our case soon.  smile.png

Thanks Darnell for your reply, much appreciated.

I just called and found out that our case is in Administrative Processing....   I am gonna cry....cray5ol.gif So many different posts from people waiting since May to posts saying lagging do to queue....  how am I suppose to know what is really going on with my case?

This is a continuation of http://www.visajourn...uck-nvc-for-ap/

So, if'n you're pursuing a K-1 visa and you're stuck at NVC for AP - post here.

Why AP at NVC for a K-1, you ask?

There's always AP (administrative processing) at NVC for a K-1 visa - it consists of:

--additional background checks

--NVC scanning the casefile into the SAFEFILE system

--NVC issuing a Consular Casefile Number

sometimes one or more of these things gets lagged due to QUEUE and SIZE OF QUEUE.

When things get lagged, and you call in and ask for casefile status, this is always the answer - administrative processing.  It's not a bad thing - but when you learn of it - is solid indication that the queue is lagged.

So, post your stuff here.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOur Interview Is Today

So  is he on his way?

Even though I had a substantial amount of savings, I showed over $3,400 PER MONTH income for the last 4 months and have had a job for the rest... they only looked at last years W2 form and said we need a co-sponsor.... so if you have a low tax return from last year.... they will not look at what your current income is... or how much you have in savings... I even have $30,000 in equity in the house! AND IT STILL IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!  So be forewarned.... they will look at only your last years taxes... it doesn't matter your current situation or income....  they only looked at the last year taxes.  So now I am struggling to get a co-sponsor... when everything else was FINE, even the officer said everything was fine as far as documents and requirements...EXCEPT we need a co-sponsor. we dont get visa until I get a co-sponsor... which is looking very sad at the moment because I don't have one and haven't found anyone to help.... so sad and so disappointed!!!!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa Question & Update

Our interview was November 25, 2013 and the immigration officer basically said if we don't have a cosponsor we don't have visa.  All the other documents was fine. The last four months I have been trying to obtain several different candidate sponsors that unfortunately have been disqualified due to either not enough income on one of the three years required, lack of bringing in all documentations required or quitting in the middle of our process. Unfortunately this has set me back by going through this whole process with each one of these individuals by months, just to give you an understanding of the difficulty I have incurred.

I finally found a more than qualified cosponsor who makes 53,000 a year and provided 3 years of income taxes, which included a current paycheck stubs, birth certificate, drivers license copy, and signed sponsor documents. I also did a new intent to marry notary just to be safe and put that in there as well.   We have everything in order and all the documents was sent out yesterday and currently will be there to my love on Wednesday. He will put his passport inside and send it to Ankara with documents NEXT DAY DELIVERY so we can get his visa.

I am soooo wanting to get this wait of separation over with, I miss him.

My Visa question is, we have provided EVERYTHING the Embassy Requested. It is ALL in documents, once they get it how long before he gets a visa?  I read 7-10 days after they receive our documents in Ankara. If we provide everything required, we should get visa, right?   What time framer are we looking at?

Is there anything else I need to be aware of or need to know?

Thank You,

Sarah

So I recived case number today. But in the e-mail with my and my fiance personal information there is also this:

This petition is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. You will be notified with further instructions when the processing is complete.

IS this ok? Or is this possiable that I woulkd be in AP? If yes, how long may it take?

I hope it is normal process and they will just send my case to embassy.

Good to hear that, you are lucky. If i may ask, when was your petition approved?

Ours was approved on August 27, but still no case number. So bad!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)8 Weeks Today After NOA2

8 weeks today after NOA2 Texas service center. NVC don't have our case number. USCIS said it was sent to embassy. Embassy refused to reply my email. I really do not know what to do. My police reports from two different countries are ready and counting already. Any advice on how to go about this? Every useful details will be appreciated.

It's really bad how things go on there sometimes, hm. We had NOA2 on Agust 27, we received our case number just yesterday, it took almost 4months before our petition was sent from USCIS to NVC. We kept calling and they kept cooking stories for us everyday, not to talk of the tossings from here to there.

8 weeks is 2months, pray you get the case number soon from NVC. Your case casn't be transafered to the Embassy without having a case number. Keep calling and emailing NVC or DOS.

Hello VJers, i had my interview on the 21st of January, all went well but i was told by the C.O to submit my original birth certificate and notarized police report. I submitted them through a CITIC BANK today. I could see my visa status has been updated on the ceac website.

PLEASE, does anyone know how long it takes to get the passport back from the US consulate after additional documents are submitted? THANKS TO YOU ALL.

When you visit the CITIC Bank Office listed in the document delivery coversheet,

what does the clerk tell you ?

[I note this is the 4th topic you've started in a week about this, so I'll ask you to touch base with your USCitizen Petitioner, ask him/her to read all of the replies to you, you're missing 2 important parts]

Darnell, missing an important part you say? Is there anything to miss after seeing ''ISSUED'' on the website, processes almost completed. If anything was done mistakenly, I could have been called or emailed and that wouldn't have made the visa to be issued, something is just wrong at the office there, 20days after issue, still no passport! Will find all means to reach them on phone from Tuesday. Will let the petitioner call the International line given too... Thanks!

so, did you 'do' anything?  what did you learn? anything to report?

I sent email to the US consulate Guangzhou and all i was told is to keep waiting till i hear from the pick up address and more so the Embassy will send me an email when it gets to the address. I keep checking on ustraveldocs.com, thus by entering my passport number, and all i gt back is '' there is no status currently available for this passport number". I tried calling the numbers to get human, but machines answered and no human gets on the line. Just have to wait. Hmmmmmmm.....

which CITIC Bank location did you choose, for your document delivery option,

and

did you turn in the document delivery coversheet on interview day?

I submitted it to a Citic Bank in Lanzhou, Gansu province. The docuemnt delivery sheet is even online aside from what i turned in. Just don't know why after 20days of seeing ''ISSUED'' still passport not received, this is really disturbing and has really had a great effect on my plans, Oh my gosh!!!

I am really distorted and don't know what to do again. My status on ceac website has been 'ISSUED' 17days ago, but till now, I haven't received my passport and I'm not even finding any information on the ceac and CGI stanley websites. My status of the ceac website is still 'issued' and adding if you've not received your passport in more than 10days contact the consulate, i try to contact them but to no avail, ain't getting human on the line. Aside from that, I have being checking my status on CGI Stanley, it was 'passport received from consular section and currently being processed for delivery', I've been checking for some days now and it's been 'document delivery information', nothing more seen. I entered my passport number to check on CGI stanley and what i get is ''There is no status update available for the passport number submitted.'' All this vain information is making me so much worried and don't know what's next.

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THE MEANING OF THIS IN THE VISA PROCESS? PLEASE HELP ME EASE SOME TENSION, AM DAMN HOT!!! Thanks!

Oh okay, thanks! I had my interview on 21st August, I was told to re-submit a notarized Chinese Police Report, because to them what I presented wasn't notarized. In addition to that, i was told to submit my original birthcertificate, i had a photocopy with me during the Interview.

I gathered those documents and sent to the Consulate via Citic Bank. Two weeks or so later i saw ''issued'' when i checked my status on ceac website, and it's been 17days now after seeing 'issued' on the website but still haven't received my passport, hmm :crying:

I checked on Ustraveldocs.com, within 9days it was ''Passport received from consular section and currently being processed for delivery''. But from yesterday, i checked and the current status is ''Document delivery information''. I click on that to find out more but doesn't process to show me anything. My status on the ceac website has shown ''ISSUED'' 11days ago, but till now, i haven't received my passport and no sign that it has even been mailed. I am so much worried and don't know what the reason is. I have read many people received their passports 3-8days after they saw issued on the website. What worries me much is; On the CGI Stanley website, i see my status as ''passport received from the consular section and being processed for delivery''. This status have been there for a week, and I wonder why my passport is still sitting there after the visa is been issued, :crying:   .

PLEASE ADVICE! IS THIS NORMAL? THANKS FOR READING AND SUGGESTING WHAT SHOULD BE DONE.......

My fiancé also received an email a couple days ago that said ACTION REQUEST.  It said please be informed that your visa is ready for issuance.  Please drop of your passport...... Is this what your email said?  It has been 15 months since his interview and last time they said to come get visa (in April) it was a glitch in system and they didn't actually have a visa for him, so we are a little apprehensive about this.  We are hoping it is for real this time.  We have never received an email like this before, so we are being calm, patient, and hopeful.

No, actually the email I received says that "your AP is almost done" and asked for passport. I have heard form a source that embassy dosnt keep the passports for more than two weeks when it asks for it. Unless it collects the passport on the day of interview. I hope you fiance gets his visa soon. And please keep me in your prayers.

Good luck

I guess a certified translator notarizes. The only documents I see that really needs to be notarized has to do with the children which we have court order for sole custody to my fiancee and getting notarized and yes we are over-cautious too and have had everything put in for apostille.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusK-1 Embassy Documents for Interview
This is really a 2 part question:

1. I know all documents in Ukrainian need to be translated is this just a certified translator's statement or does it also need to be notarized. I am reading from a english version of the packet and my fiancee is reading in Ukrainian and both are different by translation so I am not sure.

2. I would also like to know if it would be best for all the translated documents be notarized before coming to the U.S. to save the problem of getting paperwork here later.

Thank you for any help.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusShot Records

If she can go to the hospital where she went as a child, they will have the records. If she got all her shots as prewscribed by the Soviets, she will have eveything she needs. It was one of the easier things we gathered.

If you cannot do that, then get the current list of vaccinations needed and have her go to any physician in Ukraine and get all the vaccines, probably for little or no cost and maybe a small bribe to mave things along...grease the wheels. maple syrup and good chocolate bars have worked well for us for doctor bribes. The doctor will then give her a record of the vaccinations (it won't hurt to repeat any and it is easier than taking tests to determine if she had them) Take the record to the medical exam and they will transcribe it on the DS-3025 and you will be good to go for the AOS. If you wait until she gets here, plan on $200-500 for the vaccines and sign off on the I-693. Avoid that if you can.

Guess she will get all her shots in the US most of her shots she received in Russia when she was a child and she has already had her physical here so it is to late to have them translate to DS-3025 but thank you for all the information.

Some things about the FSU are just reliably consistent, aren't they?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusProof of relationship. Translate or not translate

Since Daria and I converse exclusively in Russian, all of our correspondence (emails, chats, postcards) are in Russian.
At this point there's about 2000 total of emails and chat logs.
My questions is: any Russian-speaking couples on these boards that went through Moscow or Kiev that can lend some insight?

I presume that most of you would say - translate, because that's what the embassy states in guidelines. I could possibly translate maybe 1-2 out of each month, and then print out the chat logs list itself (thanks to labels in Gmail it's easy to group everything, screenshot and print).

I'm just asking this ahead of time, because if someone, for certain, knows that translation of the relationship proof is required, I would really appreciate your knowledgeable input.

Once again, most of you know my situation: same age, never married, no kids, no criminal record, etc. Also will be attending the interview (whenever we get to that bridge, arrrgggg). I would still rather bring more proof than less. I don't mind hauling a whole box of stuff if needed.

To start off about what I know so far about translating/not translating:

- My friends, Jo and Sveta, just got their visa. And all of their emails were in Russian. They submitted a ton of those without translation and CO specifically asked Sveta to print out emails and hand them over.

So that is the only experience in Kiev that I know of.

Thank you,

Martyshk (???????)

I don't know if you have this email address I used it to ask questions to the embassy about some of the paperwork I needed for the interview, so they should be able to tell you exactly what they want in Kyiv the only thing is it takes about 10 days to get a response but they do answer.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusWhat to do

I disagree with providing details. The rule with USCIS is always to provide ONLY what they ask for, and nothing more. In this case USCIS isn't even asking for a letter, so if you really do feel the need to send one, be short and concise. Don't say that she hid things, don't indicate why the relationship fell apart. Just say that the relationship has ended and you will not be marrying her. If they want details, let them ask. (but they won't)

I agree I will just provide the statement that the relationship ended and we will not marry. I wont worry about anything else, I will not file another fiancee visa, I figure a lesson learned. If it is pssible I would like this topic closed, thank you all.
