Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 October 2011 Filers

I was wondering the same thing, but when we went to the DMV they put my husband's expiry date on his DL as one year from the letter, not the GC, which stinks because we will have to make that sure that doesn't expire! Either way, I'm not sure the lady knew 100% or if she just assumed it went by the date of the letter.


This same thing happened to me in Arizona. I told them but they did not want to change it.

USCIS Service CentersFBI background check on Petitioner

So we finally got a reply from our congressman about our K1. Turns our My fiance the USC is going through fbi background checks which is why we have not been approved yet. No one at uscis, our congressmen or the lawyer can tell us how long this has been going on let alone how much longer it will take.

Anyone have this happen to them or heard of it at this early stage of the K1 process? Our petition is at CSC.

The only thing David can come up with is that his work had a check done on him 2 years ago when he got his job at The Salvation Army.


the FBI website says that it takes up to 3 months to do the background checks.

I think it's quite common to act on your frustration when being apart but if you let that guide you then ofcourse the ride will make your stomach turn to the point of where you're acting on it, and not the bond between you.
It's individual how much time people spend together however, you are planning on living together in the future and somewhere beyond "only ten minutes a day" you might be looking for an answer to why you have to pour everything into those minutes when you desire more. If you're not satisfied with the way you are communicating make sure that your significant other understands it's going to be a dramatic change spending days, weeks, months and years together in the future.

Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining about your post at all. We are on the same boat and I have seen this quite a bunch too, about USCIS seemingly skipping some why others that filed later got theirs. I have tried to imagine possible reasons why that happens and I'm exhausted.

I guess we all have to b patient, there´s nothing we can do.

Would love to be able to give you an answer. I cannot get an answer from USCIS why Oct/Nov CSC IR-1/CR-1 filers are are getting approved when 35,000 Jul/Aug CSC transfers to TSC filers are getting pretty much ignored.

I think the Service Centers are experiencing some major management issues, and it starts from the top back in DC.

it really makes me sick when i see lots of people who enter the country illegally, work illegally, and bring their families illegally, and they even get free help. I´m a law-rules follower, but cases like this make wonder if it´s worth it to follow the rules anyway.

me gustaria saber si hay alguien asi como yo que ha aplicado visado de esposa (o) y tendra la entrevista en Madrid. Me gustaria cambiar informaciones sobre la entrevista, Hoteles cerca de le embajada, las vacunas, la clinica donde hay que hacer los examenes.

Mi marido(USC) y yo hemos aplicado para el visado K-3 en Agosto de 2011 y en el dia 27 de enero de 2012 hemos recibido el email del USCIS con la aprobacíon de nuestra solicitud NOA2 (I130 y I129F).

I would like to exchange information about the interview, Hotels near Embassy, vaccines, the clinic where have to do exams.

I am Brazilian but I live in Spain has 4 years (My mother is married to a Mallorquin).

My husband (USC) and I have applied for the K-3 visa in August 2011 and on January 27, 2012 we received the email from USCIS with the approval of our request NOA2 (I130 and I129F).

Yes, he will get it! When you pay the IV and send all docs everything go really fast! Maybe in 1 week you are done with NVC.
I am very sad for read about the 3 to 4 months waiting after de CC.. and my husband is very upset about the whole process... and we are praying to have the interview scheduled ASAP.

It's for persons who are not married, your marriage certificate is enough and the only document required by NVC to testify married status:

"El certificado de fe de vida y estado es el documento que acredita que una persona está viva, así como su estado civil...estado de soltero, viudo o divorciado. (notice "casado" does not appear as an option).

He ido a la clinica angloamericana en el lunes 23. Ha sido todo muy trankilo, solo me pediram el passaporte y 3 fotos carnet, no han pedido la carta de la embajada. Todos alli son muy amables, he pagado 180€ por el examinen y 2 vacunas (tetanos y triplice virica)... mi entrevista fue ayer 24 de Abril a las 3 de la tarde. A las 12:30 he ido a la clinica recoger mis examines y he ido diretacmente a la embajada caminando. Como mucho tardas unos 30 min. Alli en la esquina hay un bar restaurante muy bueno donde puedes pedir un café mientras espera la hora de tu cita. El segurata nos ha dejado entrar a las 2:15pm y hemos esperado unos 30 min para empiezar todo el processo. Ya los contare en el resumem de la entrevista.
Pero ya te digo, no te preocupes que en la clinica son todos muy amables y listos para ayudarte.

Por lo que has puesto, yo entiendo que ese es un primer aviso de la entrevista. Por prevenir y quedarte tranquila, tienes dos opciones:

Tal y cómo tu dices, esperarte unos días a ver si recibes una carta oficial por correo postal (es cierto que estos días el correo portal va más lento por las fiestas).
Si deseas salir de dudas y quedarte más tranquila, también tienes la opción de llamar directamente a la embajada (o escribirles un email), pidiendo que te confirmen si te envían una carta por correo postal o si es suficiente con imprimir el email.

Estoy segura que esto lo podrás saber pronto sin ningún tipo de inconveniente, ya que es el procedimiento habitual para todos.

Disfruta de estos días de fiesta y mucha suerte.

Si, en función de lo que vi de otros países, yo también pensaba que la embajada enviaría un paquete. De cualquier manera, tal y cómo te aconsejaron, no viene de más llevar la documentación aportada al USCIS y al NVC, es lo que haremos nosotros. En este aspecto, prefiero prevenir e ir sobrepreparada y no necesitarlo, que no viceversa.

Ánimo Andressa que dentro de poco ya habréis acabado!!

Algunas partes de este proceso han costado un poco, otras no, lo bueno es que siga adelante y se mantenga en movimiento.

Estoy muy nerviosa con todo! Y no quiero que nada salga malo... yo voy a llevar todo lo que puedo.... lo que me preocupa es que en la lista de documentos que tenemos que levar pone que tenemos que levar la carta del NVC con la fecha, y hora de la entrevista.
Mi marido ha llamado al NVc y ellos dicen que mi caso ahora esta con la embajada y por nosotros tenermos un expeditious el NVC no nos mandara nada, solamente la embajada. La embajada nos ha mandado un email así:

"Dear Mr. XXX:
The appointment for your wife has been scheduled on April 24th at 15:00 p.m.
Regards.
IV Unit Madrid".

Sera que se yo imprimir ese email me bastará?

Yo espero que llegue algo despues de las fiestas. Aki todo esta cerrado hasta martes, así que, paciencia.

Me alegro oír que tienes una entrevista en unos días...cuanto más corto el proceso, mejor!

Sobre los documentos que tienes que llevar, todos los casos son diferentes, y nosotros llevamos todo lo que habíamos mandado al USCIS y el NVC + los originales de documentos que solo mandamos una fotocopia. Más que nada era para tenerlo todo a mano, nadie sabe lo que te van a pedir o no en la entrevista. Siento que no te puedo ayudar más, pero como te digo, cada caso lo toman como un mundo aparte.

Lo mejor que puedes hacer es ir a la página web oficial: http://travel.state....info_3731.html. Esta página te dice lo que tienes que llevar.

Todos los originales que has mandado al NVC, obviamente no los puedes llevar el original contigo. Si quieres los originales de los documentos que has mandado al NVC, lleva una copia de cada original para ellos....se quedarán con la copia y te devolverán el documento original.

No te preocupes, que estar nervioso es normal....pero si tienes todo en orden con el papeleo, no tiene porque haber problema ninguno...

Nosotros vamos a Wisconsin, soy de allí....a pasar un poco de frío!

Bueno, hoy he recibido una gran noticia. Mi entrevista sera el 24 de abril. Tengo solamente 20 dias pa preparme... y estoy sin aire ya, jajaja... bueno, la question es: me podrias decir cuales son los documentos que necesitare llevar a la entrevista? Es que mañana y hasta lunes es fiesta aki, estara todo cerrado y creo que nadie me va a entregar el paquete por esos dias. La embajada solo me ha mandado el email con la fecha y la hora y no me dijo nada mas. Y me gustaria ir adelantando cositas ya.

Que guay que vives en Wisconsin, a mi me encanta el frio, pero creo que voy a pasar mucha calor en Texas jejeje... menos mal que vivere en la isla de alla, asi me quedo mas trankila pa aguantar la calor.

Me alegro que todo te va bien con el proceso!

Sobre alojamiento, personalmente yo no me quedaría cerca de la embajada porque es una zona de oficinas y no hay mucho que hacer ni ver...con eso dicho, nosotros quedamos en unos apartamentos. Tiene más espacio que un hotel y tienes una cocina, nevera, salón y wifi. Se llama apartamentos palacio real, están en la zona La Latina. Es una zona con mucho ocio, bares de tapas, y hay una parada de metro muy cerca. Es la misma linea que coges para ir a la embajada (tardas unos 10 minutos en llegar). Una buena página web para mirar hoteles y reservar es booking.com, puedes elegir muchas opciones depende de lo que buscas.

Voy a mirar los precios en la pagina de internet que me has indicado. Tu sabras decir cuales son los documentos que tendre de llevar a la entrevista? Estaba leyendo unos topicos y he visto que tendre de llevar los originales, pero, los originales se lo he enviado al NVC. Por eso me gustaria saber cuales son los documentos necesarios para ir areglando todo por aki. Creo que vosotros ya saben como es eso, de la ansiedad, y por mas que la entrevista parezca trankila, siempre nos ponemos nerviosos... yo estoy fatal! jaja pero lo que me alegra es saber que muy prontito voy a estar con mi marido finalmente.

Hola!

Cuando llamas al centro médico, tienes que decirles la fecha de tu entrevista...si no la tienes todavía, esperate hasta que tengas la carta del NVC con la fecha.
El examen médico tarda una hora más o menos. Primero hablas con el médico y rellena un cuestionario que tienes que firmar con él; seguidamente te hace una oscultación muy por encima y te pasan con la enfermera. Ahí te sacan un poco de sangre y ella revisa las vacunas. Lo más importante es que tengas las tres que te ponen de pequeña, la triple vírica (sarampión, rubeola y paperas) y el tétanos. Si alguna no la tienes, no hay problema, te la ponen ellos, pero cuesta 30€ cada vacuna.
Luego te mandan al hospital el mismo día con un papel que entregas allí y te hacen la radiografía. Como mucho esperas 10 minutos en la sala de espera.
Creo que en total nos costó un par de horas, entre estar en el médico, andar hasta el hospital y la radiografía. Antes de comer acabas.
Cuando llames al centro médico te ponen una grabación que te explica qué tienes que llevar, pero asegurate de llevar el dinero en metálico, no aceptan tarjetas.

Seguro que dentro de pokito te hare algunas preguntitas mas. Ayer el NVC nos ha enviado un email diciendo que semana que viene enviara a Madrid nuestro caso. En seguida Madrid tambien nos mando otro email y dijo que ya tienen la informacion de nuestro paquete y asi que posible nos van a enviar la fecha de la entrevista. Que ganas tengo por Dios!!! Hace 11 meses que estoy lejos de mi marido y no aguanto mas... por cierto, tu has quedado en algun hotel en Madrid? Estoy haciendo busquedas de precios por la zona cerca de la embajada y como vivo em Mallorca voy a tener que gastar un paston con vuelos y hoteles...

Hello to everyone,

First of all I would like to thank everyone on this site - their information, forums, and comments really help you through the whole process. There is just so much information out there (some good, some bad) and sometimes it feels overwhelming. This site has helped us with the process and that´s why I think it´s also important to share information and personal experiences with others here - to give back and to ultimately help others who are or will soon be in the same situation as the rest of us. With that said....

Our journey was with the Madrid Embassy in Spain. I will be relating some of this post to the information already posted on the Madrid embassy on this site, and the rest of this post will be on our personal experiences and opinions....any feedback is more than welcome of course!

The interview for my wife (the Spanish citizen) was scheduled by the NVC for March 8 at 15.00, which was a Thursday afternoon. Obviously this does not coincide with the information on this site - and from what I have previously read until now - that the inteviews were always on Wednesdays in the morning.

There are 2 different places to have the medical exam done in Madrid. We decided to go with the Unidad Medica Angloamericana. We were satisfied with the way we were treated and everything went smoothly. You do need to take 2 american sized (5cm x 5cm) passport photos with you. When my wife was in the embassy waiting to be interviewed, she spoke with another couple that had their medical exam at the Centro de Radioagnostico and they said that they had problems. I would suggest going to the Unidad Medica Angloamericana, the hospital where you have to get an x-ray done is about a 20 minute walk away, but if it´s a nice day in Madrid it´s not a problem.

Regarding the interview, I have read information stating that women cannot bring in their purses, etc. My wife did not go with her purse and once in she asked if she could have brought it and they said it would be no problem. Take what you will from this...I´m not suggesting to go in with a backpack or a laptop, but I´m pretty sure you can bring a purse. They only made my wife leave here cell phone with the security guard at the gate. When I went with her to the interview, I asked if I could go into the Embassy with her. They said that I could not enter because I was not on the list. I did not press the issue and stayed outside. When my wife´s number got called for the interview, the consulate officer asked ¨Where is your husband?¨. She told him that the security guards would not let me in....to which he replied ¨he could have come in if he wanted¨. Maybe I should have pressed the issue more or showed him my American passport. My wife also saw other couples in the interview office waiting.....what I´m trying to say is that I´m pretty sure you have the right to go in with your husband/wife, you might have to press the issue a little bit, but hey, if you get in that´s the important thing.

Her interview was no problem. They reviewed her petition that they had recieved from the NVC (she took in copies of everything just in case) and did not ask for more passport photos, although I do suggest taking a few extra just in case. She was asked the following 3 questions: Where did you meet your husband? Where do you plan to live in the U.S.? What will you do when you are there? She responded to all of them, he said that all of the paperwork looked good to him and said ¨Congratulations, your visa is approved.¨ It will be sent to our house in about 7-10 days.

So that was our trip to Madrid! Had some sleepless nights the whole week of the trip, but if you have your paperpwork approved from the NVC and have nothing to hide (being a bone fide marriage) you should not worry! We´ve been married 7 years now and are moving to the states because the job situation is horrible here, hope everything works out!

One question: how much time take to do all in the hospital? they gave you in the same day? what about the vacination?

Hey guys, I wanted to report my case too.

I'm Brazilian, but have 4 years living in Spain (my mother moved here because she married a Spaniard).

I met my husband (USC)on a social networking site in 2008, we met in person in Scotland after 7 months, we became engaged after a few months and were married in August 2010.
In August 2011 we filed the visa process as a wife. We received the NOA1 for I130 form the same day, and instantly we filed the I 129F, and received the NOA1 4 days later.
I go several times a day on the website of USCIS to check my case, but since the upgrade in August remains the same. It is a great agony not knowing when I can finally start my life and my family set up next to my beloved husband. It really hurts to know that you can spend many long months of separation.
I wonder if there is anyone here who has a situation similar to mine, being of a country, but live in another country and trying the wife's visa to the U.S..

p.s (Sorry, my english is not good, I never studied and learned a lot because I wanted to know more about my husband ,his family and his country). :dance:

I understand the timeline but how did you receive a touch in only 1 month? I haven´t received a touch in 3 months...

Hello VJ´s!!

I'm wondering if the status of ya´ll on the USCIS page has been updated or is stopped just like my status.
Since we started our process and received our NOA1 never had the status changed.
Is this normal, or do you advise me to call USCIS and ask what happens?
