Read thru it, and if you will notice the document verification is not mentioned. They recently (October 2008) updated the list of requirements. It seems they decided to remove it and ask for CENOMAR instead. You can call the embassy for confirmation. 301-2000, press 8 for operator, ask to be transferred to immigration Visa unit. better if your petitioner will call. Last month when they still ask for our DV it takes 3-6 weeks for NSO to release it, and most of the people on the above list are still waiting for their DV to be released. I doubt if DV still applies for you though. Good luck! I was browsing this website and I read that some vj members were asked for additional document (nbi clearance with aka) at the time of their interview and it delayed them frm getting their visa. So I wanna know about it. I dont have any aliases and my surname/maiden name is unique. On my nbi clearance that i have now it doesnt have a portion where it says whether u have aliases or none. All I see is name, add, bday, citizenship and remarks. "you can ask the people at the bureau to specifically state on your clearance that you have not used other names or aliases, or aka's" Should I get new nbi clearance and request them to include that i have not used aliases? have you requested it before? Should I assumed that the vj members (mentioned above) have used aka or aliases names thats why they were being asked. hmmm.. siguro nga hmmm. Thanks ulit. In order to get a NBI with a.k.a they will ask you to write your other name at the top of the application form,but since u dont have any corrections on your name,there's nothing to worry about getting it.All you need is a valid clearance and you're good to go .The CO will just ask about it once they see that there are some annotations/remarks on your BC. Hi,i can relate to what you feel.we are 8 in the family and im the only who needed a lot of corrections on my birth certificate,when i first got a copy of my bc from NSO,i found out that i didnt have my first name written on it,not only that,i've been using a name with Ma. in all my pertinent records but on my bc,i didnt have it,there's more,i had a 1 letter error on my surname.For the blank first name,i had it settled by getting a CTC copy from manila civil registrar year 2000 and forwarded it to NSO.it was only last year that i fixed the 1 letter error on my last name and added Ma. on my first name by following the RA9048 to avoid hassles once i'll have my interview sched at the USEM. The reason why i was very careful when i gave birth to my son and checked his BC many times before i let the hospital sumbitted it to NSO. As for your problem,Rodge and Ninfa is right,get a CTC copy from your local registrar and have it submitted to NSO or better yet ask them what's the best thing to do.i know they will be able to give you a clearer copy of your BC,that's what Manila local registrar's office did to my BC when they werent able to read mine.
