Joe,

OMG...the saga continues. You must have an enormous amount of patience. If I were you, the guys in the white coats would be coming after me. LOL
When your fiancee arrives, you should party for a week!! Anyway, I hope she has no problems and you can put all of this behind you and chill until June.

Good luck.

Mark

Diffenitley need to party when all done. Sounds like just trying to squeeze every penny they can get. Today we schedule labatory and medical and they say she needs all the vaccines she just got a week ago because of her age. They say is booster. Thet just keep wanting money from everyone.

Hey Mark,

I'm guessing that is going to have to happen. They embassy has all her documents right now, so we have to figure out how to get all that stuff back into her hands. She called the doctor's office today (Gonzales) and they need her passport and an "appointment" letter, and who knows what other paperwork, to do it again. I'm sure that won't go off without a hitch of some sort. This whole thing is like a bad movie- you must read half the ###### I post and just shake your head....

Joe

Sorry to hear about all you hassels. Just wondering if we do not receive our appointment letter for interview we can not get medical? What do we do

How much does it usually cost to get all those vaccines?

i was told by ken was 600 000 pesos and so i sent sandra that much. does not include the price with the hpv vaccine. she says she does not know how much that will cost. she does not know where to get this one. when she is done i will let you know what we paid total

Jessica had to get HPV .. There was no choice.. it is a seriers of three shots [vaccines] its expensive too.. To complete this HPV she has to get 2 more over a course of a year..

hey carl i was wondering if you had any good news yet with your case? how are you both hanging in there?

do you or anyone know where you can get the HPV vaccine done in barranquilla? sandra is getting all her vaccines and the nurse told her that they do not have this one and will have to look else where for it? i think it would be cheaper to do in barranquilla than bogota

All they told me was for me to accept to withdraw this petition ..He said something like he was going to add some comments to it and that I had to sign it..I did not sign..He only gave us verbal interview . Jessica was 50 mins long. He said if I diid not sign it he would send it back to USA. OMG we are so upset. We have no clue what to do..
Its was terrible .. I am back in Florida now.. We had a hard week together with dealing with all this that happen. We are in love and wantt to be together.. I was checking into just getting married there and refiling a k-3 ..I am so lost on what we need to do..We were told at 1000am to return at 100pm for intewview We waked out rejected and horrible upset at 400pm.It was extremly stressful for us both we sat in front of the Embassy and let out are emotions.
Please any direction for us.. PLEASE HELP US ..

Hi Colombia Club...It's me...Ken.

I spoke with Carl today, and the interview at the Embassy did not go well at all. Carl will shed some light on his episode at the Embassy when he returns next week to the US. I have been talking to him, providing all the support I have been able to in his difficult time. In the event that he calls before returning to the US, is there any advice that I can give him regarding his situation? Perhaps, a petition for his K-1 visa to be held at Bogota before being forwarded away to NVC? Carl is doing everything he can in order to marry his SO in order that they can start a life together here in the U.S.

Sorry to hear the bad news. that really sucks. was it denied or is he in AP?

I can finally report some good news- they approved the visa yesterday! We went to the window and the guy (different one from last time- I thought for sure it would be the same dude) just asked a few simple questions to Valeria and then said it was approved! I was at the window looking at the paperwork he had in front of him, and it looked like a checklist of things that was checked off completed. Looked like several AP things they must have needed to get before ending it. It was 8 1/2 months that it took from the first interview in April. I hope I will hold the Colombia Club record for AP wait , because I wouldn't want to wish that long of AP on anyone!

We were in Bogota from Wed. until today Friday (interview was Thur.) and back in Pereira now, and heading back to L.A. on Monday. I don't think it has sunk in yet, but I can finally say visa approved...

Joe

Happy New Year to all. We have our second appointment at the embassy on Thur. Jan. 14th. Looks like I will be there- again! I had a trip planned to Pereira from Jan. 9th -18th, so I will go with her and see what they say- if they let me in! Same drill- be there at 7:00 am and wait for our name to be called, I guess. Hell, maybe they will approve it- has been over 8 months since I was there for interview number one and placed in AP...

no update yet just waiting for them to redeliver they said i should receive by jan 8th but i hope sooner than that just depends when they put it in the mail

update i get letter in the mail yesterday and i open and it looks like the first notice of action. so i call and ask them whats going on and they say this is the correct one they send out. so i asked why they would send this out if i already received in the beginning and she made it sound like this is the first time they send out. so then i asked her about the status saying it is in the ceremony and oath stage and she said it is still in process. oh well got excited for nothing, so i guess i am still waiting for them to review and give me answer.

want to wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year.

Document production or Oath Ceremony

On December 8, 2009, the post office returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. We will hold it for 180 days from December 8, 2009 to allow you time to contact us. This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a green card) or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, refugee travel documents or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

Naturalization Applicants: you will receive you will receive your certificate at your oath ceremony. You can expect to be scheduled for an oath ceremony within 45 days of receiving your decision. Many offices schedule approved applicants for the oath ceremony on the same day as the day of the interview. Please check the local office profile page on our Web site to determine if this applies to your local office.

If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

That message is very confusing since there is no document being produced such as a green card or EAD nor is an Oath ceremony pending.

If the I-129F had been approved you would've received an e-mail from the USCIS letting you know that it was approved and the case would've been updated in their web site. It could be an RFE of some kind.

I guess all you have to do now is wait to see what it is. huh.gif

Erika was approved for her K1 visa on Thursday, Dec. 4 ... Thanks to everyone who posts information on the site. There were no surprises at her interview and all the paperwork was correct by just following the advise here. A few notes for future filers ... Helm bank wanted the DS156 on one paper (front/back) versus the 2 downloaded pages from the internet ... we ended up copying one side onto one of the originals ... this form needs to be signed before submitting to the embassy and a photo should be attached. The embassy did not want the 3rd page from the internet with the barcode. The DS156K is the only one not signed. When submitting her folder with all the papers that were requested to the person behind the first set of windows (30-35 I think, she was actually at 31), Erika was asked a series of questions which were on a sheet of paper ... she actually thought that she would not receive her visa since the lady behind the window was stern and unbelieving of her answers. She checked yes and no when Erika gave her answers ... there were a few "no" checks. The final interview was at windows 2-6 at about 10:30 ... earlier than others who were waiting ahead of us possibly because her daughter was there also ... the man was quite pleasant and asked 3 questions, wanted to see our photos then gave her an OK after about 5 minutes without asking me anything. For us, the whole process went along smoothly ... and I read all the posts from both colombia club I & II. We did eat at Cabana del Sheriff but it was the day before. Thanks again for everyone who posts.

James,

Form DS-156 is the visa application for K visas, both K1 and K3. If you choose to go for the K3 visa, your wife will have to go to Banco de Crédito with two filled out DS-156 forms and pay $131. But in all honesty it's a waste of money because you already paid the visa fee of $400 to the NVC for the CR1.

Diana

since i filled for the k1 visa i only have to fill this form out i do not have to pay the 131?

Instruction package for visa k... http://bogota.usemba...ctionsfeb09.pdf
visa k appointment package for http://bogota.usemba...kapptfeb010.pdf

first question is what package do i need to follow, instruction package for visa k or visa k appontment package or both?

i have read on this board when you get the noa2 that i should fax and send documents through courier but the instruction package for visa k says Submitting duplicate copies of the required forms will delay visa processing. is this true? so do i send both ways?

the following questions are about the visa k appointment package if this is something i do not need the question below do not need answered.

my second question is the first thing they say i do is fill out the ds156k for nonimigrant. so i fill out this for me, is this correct?

third question is they say i pay 131 to Banco de Crédito. is this also correct?

and my fourth question in this thread ( http://www.visajourn...?showtopic=2572 ) said we need to send these forms in OF-169, DS-2001 and DS-230 part 1. what is OF-169?

Fifth question is DAS CERTIFICATE – Entries and exits to and from Colombia for the past 10 years. This document may be obtained in Bogotá at the DAS Office located at Calle 100 #11B-27, Edificio Platinium. if she has never left does she still need these documents?

thanks in advance for taking your time to read this and guide me

#1 http://www.visajourn...e...&cty=Bogota This pretty much tells you everything. Study it.

You will need to email via .pdf file to get an interview.
Do not send various forms from various people - that would be a big mistake.
Start setting up this stuff now, so you have less waiting to do:
1. DS-2100 (page 4 of packet 3 instructions)
2. DS-230 Part 1 (pages 1 & 2 only)

Get your Fiancee to get her passport photos, her Passport, Colombian Birth Certificate, everything listed that she will need is at: http://www.visajourn...e...&cty=Bogota

Do you have all of your tax information so that you can complete your I-134 in a timely manner? Divorce decrees, Proof of citizenship, DAS Migratorio form?
Once again: http://www.visajourn...e...&cty=Bogota

The DS156K will be necessary for your beneficiary when she arrives at the US Embassy, and places her forms inside of the supplied manilla envelope she will be given. When you receive your NOA2, you will know it is time to rock and roll - not sit around. Send in the completed DS-2100 (page 4 of packet 3), and DS-230 Part 1 (only pages 1 & 2). This will tell the embassy that she is ready for her interview and that she has everything in place. When you do this (after you get your BGT#), you will need to get her to focus on getting everything together immediately. Let us know when this happens, and we'll go from there, amigo. good.gif

-Ken

thank you for your help will let you know when we get to this part

Fifth question is DAS CERTIFICATE – Entries and exits to and from Colombia for the past 10 years. This document may be obtained in Bogotá at the DAS Office located at Calle 100 #11B-27, Edificio Platinium. if she has never left does she still need these documents?

thanks in advance for taking your time to read this and guide me

If you change your address, just make sure you let USCIS know about that change.

Correct. Other than that it has no affect on your K-1 process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshave some concerns about the k1 visa
First i want to start of by saying thanks to everyone for helping me with all my questions. everyone is great and this is an awesome site.

i filed for the k1 visa on sept 25th. my fiancee is from colombia and she was talking to a friend of hers that received her k1 visa. she was asking all kinds of questions and the women told my fiancee that we might get denied because of 2 reason. one not knowing for very long and the other is meeting on the internet. we met online in april and i went and visited her in sept. my question is do you think they will deny this because of these 2 reasons and if they do what other options do i have. maybe get married in her country and file for a different visa? thanks in advance for all your help
